We were always the most adventurous people in our little village at the edge of the Lüneburger Heide in Northern Germany. We were always drawn to distant places, to experience new countries and people.
But when we traveled around Hawaii for a few weeks in 1983, it was like love at first sight. Too impressive was the country, with its deep rooted Hawaiian culture, contradictory climate zones and very impressive volcanoes. We were fascinated by all of this.
From then onward, Hawaii was our only destination and it unavoidably became the place where we started to look for a home.
Friends pointed out the dream plot, we snapped it up and a little later we built the house according to our desires and plans. We have never regretted it.
In the meantime, we have developed very good contacts and deep friendships with Hawaiian families, thereby helping them to spread the Spirit of Aloha throughout Europe for years. Workshops about Hawaii, hula, music and song in Italy, Austria, Switzerland, and of course in Germany, have made an impact. This year they will once again teach hula in Zürich, Speyer and Hamburg. Feel free to contact us if you are interested.
Our life’s work in Germany has been, and still is, breeding and keeping bees, so for several years now, we have passed on our knowledge here on this island. We run a small apiary and teach beginners about the art of beekeeping. You can obtain delicious honey from the untouched rainforests at the Hamakua Coast from us.
These friendships and relationships could also prove beneficial for our guests, if the need arose. Our friends would help you very quickly.
