Built in 1905 The Preston House is a beautiful Victorian home. All of the molding and trim are original and were never painted. The beautiful arch between the living and dining room is distinctive of the period, as well as the pocket doors, stain glass windows and original wood floors the house features. Work at the large dining room table, then set it for dinner with your family. Enjoy morning coffee on the upstairs balcony, or simply relax in the rocking chairs on the front porch. You will wind down, relax and enjoy life at a slower pace in the small town of Marquette.

The house was perfect for my family of ten as we visited Marquette and surrounding areas. Showers were hot, towels were plenty and the beds were comfy! We loved the added bonus of meeting Stan, visiting the distillery and getting some history. This is a great place to stay!
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was beautiful and Stan was great to work with. It is full of antiques but the bathrooms are updated and the beds were comfy.
Beautiful home with tons of character! The beds and pillows were amazing! We had 4 couples staying and we were all comfortable with plenty of space to enjoy each other’s company. Stan was a pleasure to deal with concerning the house and we also thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent at the distillery and some of the other local businesses. Hoping to stay again in the future!
Stayed here for Midsommar in Lindsborg. Easy and pretty drive to Lindsborg. Marquette was a great place to stay. Kids enjoyed the public pool just a couple of blocks away. Grocery is across the street and the Distillery center is next door. There’s also a walking trail and frisbee golf. House had a great front porch for catching a breeze.
First time using VRBO. I won't stay in a hotel again. Beautiful old house in a quiet small town had everything we needed. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. It was just a wonderful weekend!
Had a 2 week job near the area where this home was located. The owner made fell at home. Great place and awesome neighborhood. Many thanks to Stan for all he provided my coworkers and me.
Planning a family get together and needed to be close to Lindsborg- Marquette and The Preston House were perfect. Short, 10 minute drive to Lindsborg. While the town is a little quiet in the beginning of the week, the kids enjoyed a visit to the Motorcycle museum, the grandparents enjoyed nights of cards and visits around the huge dining room table and the adults enjoyed a special evening at the Smoky Valley Distillery, right on Main Street in front of the house.
House was beautiful with its historic features, antique touches and modern amenities like updated bathrooms, kitchen and AC, thank goodness. It’s a great place for families to gather as long as you have guests that can climb stairs (only one bedroom downstairs. Beds were very comfortable and place was very clean. Host was very responsive and hospitable.
We had a wonderful weekend stay at the Preston House in Marquette. Even though our check-in started out a little rocky - the owner bent over backwards to make sure that we were taken care of and could enjoy our weekend. The house is beautifully furnished and had everything we needed for weekend with family. Don't miss the tour at the Distillery while in town.
Home was just as described and perfect for our trip. Very clean and welcoming. Space for all to be comfortable. We had a gathering while in town for our daughters graduation and the space was just what we needed. Home town grocery store within walking distance has all we needed and baker that bakes fresh goods daily. Distillery within walking distance was visited by multiple family members who all said they were nice/welcoming and even came back to the property with some drinks as gifts and to take home. We all agreed when in the area this place is def a place we will look up and stay in again. Stan(owner) responds quickly and even spoke with the baker about having some cookies for our celebration.
This Historic Old House has been excellently refurbished with modern upgrades and still keeps the feeling of a place that seems a Century Old. House is Wonderful! Marquette is a quiet, remarkable small Kansas town with numerous activities to entertain. There is a Distillery that is owned by the homeowner and family which offers tours, a very interesting motorcycle museum, and a Historic Castle not far away at Coronado Heights. The Distillery, liquor store, and a very nice grocery store only steps away. The Hosts were very accommodating, I would not hesitate to stay at the Preston House again!! As I said in the title, Top Shelf. Thank You. Doug R.
