Take in Lake Superior breathtaking views! Centrally located with a Sauna
Located on Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula, This cottage is only 400 feet from the mouth of the Tobacco River and located on 230' of Lake Superior lakeshore. Approximately 15 miles from Lake Linden and Calumet. The nearest village is Gay. The views, breezes and waves are simply fantastic.
This property has a spectacular view of the Lake from all the main living areas and bedrooms. The multi-level deck allows you to enjoy the summer breezes or the fall colors with family and friends.
The Lower level has laundry area, and a bunkroom Sauna and Pool table.
Upper level features beautiful red maple and cherry hardwood vaulted ceiling and open design from kitchen, dining and living room for great views of the lake and easy conversation. Master bedroom features a king bed and 180 degree view of the lake. Bathroom is a full bath including bathtub and shower.
Property is slightly elevated from the lake enhancing the lake view, but requires a few steps down to the Lake.
The Tobacco River is about 400 feet away. Old restored pier 500 feet the other way brings back memories of old copper mining days gone by.
If you revel in ATV, UTV or snowmobiling riding this place is a perfect launching point for exploring the Keweenaw. We are positioned across the street is from a major trail head. There is plenty of room for parking trailers and toy haulers. Trail 133 comes to the road for easy ride in and out access.
We have one Ring security camera between the overhead and the man door. It has audio and microphone capabilities. The main reason for it we find it necessary is to help guests with any issues in getting into to the cabin. The second reason is for snow removal during the winter months. There is a drastically different snow accumulation from one area of the Keweenaw to another.

The Copper Harbor Peninsula is so quiet this time of year, exactly what I was looking for. The well-equipped house was easy to find and access and perfectly set up. It was just me this trip - hoping to spot some aurora - and this was a perfect getaway. The view of the lake was great, I enjoyed the deck on the couple days weather allowed. Loved watching the deer who seemed to arrive around 6 each evening. Interior - bed, bath, living space were all comfortable. Loved having a "extra" table for my jigsaw puzzle! Highly recommend the house for a single, couple or family looking to enjoy the amenities of Michigan's UP.
Beautiful views and location, sleeping arrangements are less than ideal for more than one adult couple, would be fine for singles or kids, but 3 tiered bunk beds for adult couples was unfortunate. That said the house was very nice, clean and comfortable.
The view and sauna were very nice. However the queen bed had hair in the sheets and looked as if it hadn’t been changed after the last guest. There were also still wet towels in the dryer.
The view out the back window and off the balcony are amazing! The house had everything we needed to cook meals and hang out. The sauna was a nice treat especially on the cooler fall mornings. It is about 15-20 minute drive from the nearest convenience stores and gas stations but that was never an issue for us as the owners told us this ahead of time and told us where to stop on the way in to avoid needing to head back.
We really enjoyed our stay here, the location was great for traveling around the Keweenaw Peninsula. We really enjoyed the deck with the fire table and the sauna was a great bonus! It had everything we needed. Additionally the owners were very easy to get ahold of and very thorough in their communication. We would definitely stay here again!
Property is an older home that has been nicley redone and is nice but the basement had multiple double bunk beds making it a bit uncomfortable for couples.... Manager was great at communication and view was good as well.
We had a great stay at the lake house, and get it was even better than the listing pictures had to show. Misty and Jason were great communicators and the check-in process was a breeze. The views were fantastic, the place was clean, and the proximity to all things Keweenaw are 5/5. We loved having access to the sauna and the lake views. We would love to come up and stay here again.

Short Getaway
The Good:
*communication with hosts (they were responsive and offered recommendations for local places to eat)
*view overlooking Lake Superior
*deck w/firepit (we spent a couple of hours out there)
*upper level king sized bedroom (comfortable for our parents)
Concerns:
*lower level bedroom (The listing states that the house can accommodate 14 - that would be with two people in each of the triple level bunks. Although we saw pictures on the listing, we did not anticipate how tight those beds were, roughly 18" clearance. We slept in separate beds and they still felt a little claustrophobic. That may not be an issue for some, but we did not sleep well.)
*strong musty odor like a wet dog on the lower level
*stairs to get to main living space - I do not remember reading this on the listing. But, it could be a problem for some with mobility issues.
Modern appliances, plenty of hot water, comfortable bed, quiet. Be aware: bring your own dishcloth, dish towel, kleenex, shampoo, conditioner and other toiletries, extra toilet paper. Leave time at the end of your stay for multiple checkout tasks. Kayaks available but no lifejackets; "water access" would be more accurate than "beach;" we had a nice paddle in Keweenaw Bay with borrowed lifejackets.
Wow, what an amazing view—we loved relaxing on the deck and listening to the waves! And if it’s rainy (as it was one of the days) the unit has large windows facing the lake, so the living room is still bright and pleasing! The furniture is comfortable and well-furnished for guests, and the yard large enough so that our Aussie had fun chasing his ball! A wonderful stay.
What a treat this was for a mini girls trip for our friend who is having her first baby soon. Very pleasant accomodations, lots of games, and breathtaking views of lake superior. Will be back when the baby comes! Thanks to the great hosts!
Beautiful Property!!! Amazing Views of Lake Superior.
We were there for a weekend getaway. The home was really gorgeous. The Lake Superior views from the bedroom and the living room were amazing. We were hoping to catch northern lights, which were a miss, but the home and views made up for that.
Jason and Misty were really gracious hosts. They left us detailed instructions and recommendations to make our stay comfortable.
If you have folks like mine who cannot stay of internet, then look no further. The connection is amazing, fast and reliable.
Overall great place to stay and have fun..
