serene

the cabin and environs breathe serenity. sitting on the porch, watching dusk settle in brought me memories of my grandfather's farm and how much i miss the rural openness the cafe in town is a local's hangout, there are just enough sundries to get one by, and while, as a vegetarian i could have used a slightly augmented menu, i accept that it might not be cost effective. i loved the stay, the quiet, the openess, and the cabin is perfect for a couple. The heater works wonderfully, very clean, just perfect.

Cozy with beautiful expansive views of the Oregon desert

We had a wonderful stay at the Hart Mountain cabin. It was cozy and clean, and had everything we needed. We spent lots of time sitting on the front porch taking in the views and reading. We were also treated to a showing of the Northern Lights on one of our nights! Would love to stay again.

Serene cabin near Hart Mountain

Wonderful, serene, quiet, remote location and setting. Very few neighbors, did not see another human being from the house. Barely any traffic on the nearest road. Friendly cabin kitty showed up for cuddles. Minimal light-pollution permitted amazing star-gazing and full moon enjoyment. Cabin is small, cute, comfortable. Only improvements I would suggest are softer bed/pillows, fix the door jamb, and better-appointed kitchen (clean/refresh the coffee-maker; more silverware; more hand/paper towels), but these are nitpicks compared to everything else. Would love to stay again!

Little cabin

Nice property but very small. Pilot light went out on the water heater and we had to light it.

Special place

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hart Mountain cabin. It was charming, clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We met Shelia, the caretaker, who gave us some great tips about places to go and things to see. We hope to return someday soon!

Plush Sun Stone Adventure

This little cabin was awesome in general! Very clean, cute and very suitable for two people. The visiting "cabin Kitty" also added to our fun, she was so friendly! The stars were spectacular too! We found 658 Sunstones at the Spectrum mine, and plan to come back again when it is cooler out! Over all, we highly recommend this property!!!!

Wonderful peaceful location with terrific star gazing opportunities in a natural setting. If you want to get away from the hubbub of the normal Dailey routine and unplug and reset this place is for you.

Great place to stay!

Such a cute little cabin. It has everything you need! Perfect for just a couple's get away or a small(4 person) family. Perfect peaceful setting. Definitely has that rustic charm. The wooden floors are a little squeaky, so no being quiet when walking around. I would suggest putting a little curtain in the bathroom. We would definitely stay again!!

Peaceful getaway

Great quiet spot for a Hart Mountain basecamp. Communication from the host could have been better, but we worked it all out.

Incredible views and cosy cabin

This cute cabin has spectacular views in a remote setting. It felt like I was in a movie – the view of Hart Mountain is something I'll never forget. An hourish to the hot springs, we rose early to see the sun rise on mountain, followed by a dip in the hot spring. Managed to see pronghorns too! A very special part of the world and I can't wait to return one day. Also the horse and cat were very friendly! Thanks!

Well equipped but BUGS EVERYWHERE INSIDE

The property was cute and had the amenities you could ask for but I don’t know if it’s just poorly sealed or what but we had to deal with bugs upon bugs upon bugs inside our dwelling while we were there. At first walk in we looked up and there were literally 50 flies on the big window above the front doors. We sprayed them down with bug spray we found in the house. Hornets all around the outside. The host came and sprayed for those the next day which helped somewhat. She also gave us a new can of bug spray and I swear we probably used the whole thing fogging the house because there were mosquitos, gnats, hornets, flies, and beetles getting in all over the place. I felt itchy my whole stay. I don’t know how it has gotten so many good reviews. I’m only giving the overall rating 2 stars because it IS well equipped and very cute inside. Also those RV hookups are completely inaccessible and located at the back of the cabin so don’t bother asking about those unless you just have a narrow little camper on your truck or something. You have maybe 10 ft of clearance MAX and the cabin sits inside of a circular corral you also have to navigate.

Great base place while exploring.

We had heard about sunstones and wanted to learn more about them. This great little cabin was wonderful to stay in after a day of exploring. Dust Bunny the cat was a bonus of entertainment.

Night Sky

Checked out Hart Mtn. very nice drive and scenery and got some sunstones. Main reason for the trip was to check out an area to do the telescope and astrophotography. The cabin was just right for us and the dog. Squeaky floor, but other than that the cabin was nice. Met the cat and the horse that hangs around. Ate lunch at the store, good burger. Will come out again for sure!!
