About this property

Nassawadox Creek Waterfront Home with Private Pool

All bedrooms, living room and dining room have expansive views of Nassawadox Creek. Stroll down to the private dock for an evening drink, to fish or go crabbing. Take out one of our 2 kayaks to explore the creek and bay. When you return from exploring, jump into the newly renovated pool and sun on the deck. Note it is an unheated pool. If you need to warm up, there is a fire pit facing the water; it's a lovely place to be at sunset. There are stacks of wood on the property and guests are free to use the wood for the fire pit.

We have left a crab pot on the dock for guest use. There is a large crab cooking pot and crab and oyster utensils. There is also a gas grill.

It has a master bedroom and bathroom on the first floor. Two bedrooms and a shared bathroom with shower tub are on the second floor. There is a half bath for guests on the first floor. This house is our family vacation home and is in a rural, quiet area. No parties are permitted.

The living room can seat 8 with 2 recliners and 2 sofas (3 seaters), one with a chaise. For rainy days, there is a Roku TV, scrabble, poker, puzzles, monopoly and Uno.

Cape Charles is a 40 minute drive. Wachapreague is 30 minutes. Chatham Vineyards is 25 minutes. Take day trips up to Chincoteague or Kiptopeke Park and retreat back to a quiet sanctuary. The nearest grocery store is 15 minutes away in Exmore, Virginia.

Anniversary trip

This is a beautiful house and Nancy is an outstanding host. We enjoyed sitting by the pool and birdwatching. My wife wanted to take the scenic main room home with us.

Amazing House & Location

Had an amazing stay. The house is beautiful, plenty of space and things to do. Enjoyed swimming in the pool, being surrounded by nature and hanging out on the dock. The house had everything we needed, the neighbors were delightful.

Lovely, adventurous getaway

Perfect spot for my little family and 2 dogs to get away from the city. Owners and property manager were very generous with supplying the things you’d need for a comfy and fun stay. We borrowed their crab pots and caught 8 crab for dinner :) our dog (the outdoorsy one) lived his best country life

Family had a great time - kids swam, fished, kayaked, learnt to trap and prepare crab...they loved it! The view's rather beautiful, and it's downright quiet. We barely stayed indoors during the day! Thanks for sharing!

Great Place for a Family Weekend!

We had 3 generations at the house for father's day weekend / bike event in the area. The area is peaceful and serene but still engaging enough to keep 2 teenagers involved and mainly off their phones! It was a beautiful & peaceful of a break.

Wonderful relaxing stay

The property was as described in the listing. It was peaceful, relaxing and secluded. We traveled with our three teenage kids and dogs. The kids absolutely loved the pool and our dogs were immediately relaxed. We were able to catch blue crabs off of the dock, no luck in fishing but that was probably more us then the area. Would absolutely return to the rental. It was an amazing break from a hectic life. Thank you for sharing your place with us.

Nice relaxing time by the bay

The house was great. The pictures online are accurate but don’t show the ruralness of the property. It is very quiet and relaxing. We had some bad weather which was unfortunate but the house was big enough for 7 of us to enjoy some indoor activities and we still had a great time.

Great spring getaway!

We thoroughly enjoyed our spring visit. The property is spacious, clean, comfortable and well appointed. Host was very accommodating. The location is beautiful. We enjoyed fishing in the creek from our kayaks, and found a few productive spots near the marsh islands. We also ventured out to discover some of the surrounding areas. Overall, a great place to relax and enjoy nature. One opportunity for improvement - the water heater was unusually inconsistent at shower time.

Beautiful week away from it all!

What a wonderful place to unwind and really relax! The house is very spacious with lots of character, which i love. Kitchen has everything you need. The outdoor space was amazing. Pool was fantastic, i love a pool deep enough to actually be able to swim!! At night, you could see more than just stars, you could see whole galaxies! We love places like this that are away from any hustle and bustle. Thank you for sharing your home.

A beautiful, peaceful stay

This property is stunning, very private with lots to do. The size of the home is perfect for one or two small families. Fast wifi and smart tv's were great. There was plenty of bedding and towels that are soft and very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, oils and spices. The pool is excellent, and the views of the creek are so beautiful. We saw so many different birds, caught crabs, went kayaking, grilled and spent hours enjoying the pool. A short 30-minute drive to Cape Charles offers lots of cute shops and restaurants for a bit of beach town life, but we were happy to just hang out in this comfortable, quiet and fun retreat. It was hard to leave, but we had an amazing time. Thank for a wonderful stay in your home!

Relaxing

Very rural location so it was quiet and peaceful. My family loved it! Perfect and plenty of room for my husband and I and our 4 kids. The pool was great and the water temperature was perfect. Kayaking was fun and crabbing too. We caught and released every day. My son was excited every morning to check for crabs and look for jellyfish! I enjoyed my coffee every morning on the dock. Took a day a couple day trips to some touristy areas then came back to a peaceful evening of swimming. I could go on and on. Thank you

Secluded Oasis

Two words can really sum this place up well, Natural Seclusion. The home has an expansive yard with an awesome dock to walk out on for a change of scenery. A little corner of the water cuts around the home so you have your own little personal nature scene to enjoy throughout your stay from the dining room windows or the pool. We never got to enjoy the water out on the kayaks due to an elbow injury I have, but they looked great. The maintenance guy (Ben) next door was very nice and introduced himself as we arrived offering to share anything given a drive into town is about 10 miles. The yard was great for taking our dog on walks. The newer pool and deck were great even with a direct walkout from the home. It provided a great way to stay cool during the days and enjoy the incredible starry skies at night. There was some wasp activity around the wood fencing around the pool where I was unfortunately stung after our dog escalated things our first day, but we didn’t have any other incidents and given this home is way out in the middle of nature this is expected as this is their home too. We really enjoyed going down to the dock on the bayside water in the mornings and evenings to enjoy the peace and quiet and the crabs. The area of the whole Delmarva peninsula provides excellent day hiking to view the sea or bay sides along with some cute little fishing towns to enjoy. If you are looking to get away, this place is for you!!

Peaceful and spacious

We had such a great weekend here!! We had 3 generations together in this home and everyone enjoyed themselves while having enough space to themselves. Our 5 year old and nearly 2 year old both needed an extra nap from all the time they spent running around the property and playing in & near the water. There's so much to do outside and you cannot beat the water views from every window! The biggest plus is how serene it is. It's a big property with lots of outdoor space and some beautiful mature plants; peonies, rhododendrons, honeysuckle and some other flowers were in bloom during our stay in early May. I loved how quiet the area was, and seeing the moon reflected in the bay at night after getting the little ones to bed- the windows are huge, so many views! We had everything we needed for a vacation in one spot and didn't leave at all aside from a food run. Our older son loved getting out on the kayaks and searching for snails, crabs, fish and oysters. Next time we come we will definitely try crabbing! The property manager was so nice and takes great care of the place and its visitors. Already hoping to get more vacation time in this place!

Beautiful, Quiet and Relaxing

We got in late on our check-in date, so it was after dark, but the house was open ready for our arrival. We met Ben, the property manager/next door neighbor the next morning as we were beginning to settle in. He's a wonderful guy and offered any assistance we might need. The house is solidly built and has amazing views out of just about every window. The kitchen is a little dated, but very functional and easy to live in. There was a lot of space to relax, but the star was the new deck (and pool). The deck seating is a comfortable place to spend watching the water and the birds. There's never a lack of things to see. Some highlights were Osprey or the occasional Eagle diving for fish and the red fox that was patrolling the marsh line near the deck. The deck fencing is also designed to maximize the view and looks good. If you like getting away and value peace and privacy, this house is a prime spot. We relaxed and recharged and we hope to come back next year.

So, the pictures online does not capture the beauty of the place. It far more then what is listed online. The view is beautiful omg. If u love to fish its the right place. There was crab, shrimp, fishes n the best part is that everything included, wish I knew earlier. The pool with the view is amazing.

Weekend on the Bay

We had a fantastic time during our stay. The house was perfect for our group of adults. The view is incredible, the house had everything we could possibly need, and Ben was incredibly helpful both before and during our stay. We will definitely be back!

Osprey house

Beautiful, peaceful and quiet place. The pictures say a thousand words. Loved the pool, crabbing , fishing and kayaking. Well stock kitchen, very clean and neat. Ben, the property manager, was very helpful and friendly, Our dog enjoyed her walks around the property.

We are a family with 3 kids and recently purchased this property to enjoy on holidays. We will retire here someday. The rental income helps us maintain the property and slowly fix it up over time. We love fishing and often catch flounder, speckled trout, bass, puppy drum and other fish in the creek.

We fell in love with the location, privacy and waterfront views of Osprey House.

There aren't many properties in this rural area that have waterfront access, a pool and a large plot for dogs and kids to run around.
