This is a perfect getaway for those looking for a secluded place. Grocery store is not far, and the drive to tourist attractions are not far at all either. For those who are older and love visiting the beach ... The picture of the walkway to the beach, which is listed on the VRBO site is NOT updated. The walkway is overgrown and you have to clear the small path each day due to coconuts and palm limbs that have fallen. Also, there is no couches located in the house, as far as comfort seating is concerned. Just hard benches which are only located on the second floor and they r very small.
We got exactly what we were looking for in our rental... on the beach with a pool!! We could walk out our front door, cross the dirt road and be on the beach. We would walk the beach each morning and if you saw 5 people that was a busy day!. The house was absolutely wonderful and the pool did not disappoint!! It was a plunge pool and the water was always warm enough that you could just walk in and enjoy sitting on the bench with a drink in hand. Loved going out to the ocean at 5:15 every night to watch the sunset and then go back to make dinner or go out to a few different restaurants along the beach... our favourite was Mar y sol... everything was good there. Communication with the property managers was wonderful and Deems and Debbie always responded quickly to any questions we had for them. All in all we would definitely come back, it was exactly what we expected and what we needed for our 3 week stay.
The house had everything we needed. Located a short walk down the driveway and across a dirt road took us to a beautiful beach on the Pacific. The home’s pool was very clean and refreshing. Perfect place!Debbie the property manager is incredibly responsive and helpful. With her assistance we had a surf fishing guide as well as a wonderful private guide for Manuel Antonio National Park.
We are frequent visitors to Costa Rica. This is our first stay in the Playa Seco area. What a beautiful home to stay in. Fit 3 couples perfectly- each of us having our own room and bathroom. Bed's were comfortable and each room had it"s own air conditioning unit, allowing for individual preferences. Views from the home toward the ocean are lush there is seating on each deck. Can see to the ocean from the second deck. The Kitchen is well stocked and easy to cook in. Love the water/ice availability from fridge. There is a dishwasher- that worked moderately-hand washing was more consistent for clean dishes- we wondered if water pressure was the concern or our stacking of the dishwasher. Some dishes didn’t come clean and sometimes the washer pod didn’t leave the area you put it in. Definitely not a deal breaker. Back yard is beautiful, pool is lovely, enjoyed this area every day. Debbie and Deems were wonderful to work with- responsive and helpful in every way. They had 4 boogie boarding boards for us to use' a real bonus! They let us know a place where we could rent more boards. This beach was a stellar boogie boarding beach! Only drawbacks of this location (which for some may be a perk). On a dusty gravel road- Always need to drive if going out to eat.. Favorite restaurants were 30- 45 minutes away. Other drawback were the bug bites we got sitting outside- never saw the bugs, but felt their itchiness. No comfortable seating for watching TV in evening.
The check in process was flawless! Debbie and her husband were absolutely wonderful! They helped us plan excursions and even let us tour their home and showed us the monkeys and sloth nearby. It was perfect for our family! We would definitely recommend this house to all! The beach was like our own private paradise as we barely saw anyone out entire stay. Thanks again for everything!
This was our second stay at the Palo Seco Treehouse. The area is lovely and quiet, with the beach just across the road. The house was perfect for our five adult family members and had all of the amenities we needed. Debbie and Deems were great hosts, providing timely information prior to our stay and responding quickly if we needed anything once we arrived. I would highly recommend this property!
This remote beautiful home was a wonderful way to unplug. Literally had the beach and ocean to ourselves the entire week. The sand was dark which was unique and ocean was definitely swimmable. At least one walkable restaurant. The house was fully clean, stocked and exactly like the pictures. Loved using the grill. Debbie was an excellent host, great communication and went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. Loved our stay!!
This is the perfect spot to unwind and catch your breath. The house is terrific and the beach is private and beautiful. If you’re looking to lay low and rest this is a perfect spot. And Debbie and Deems the property managers are warm and helpful.
Very nice home, clean with a nice pool and deck furniture. Beach is across the road, no development along the shore for miles. Not particularly swimmable. Flat beach, easy to walk. Not much to do in Paritta, 40 minutes from Jaco and Manuel Antonio National Reserve.
For our first time in Costa Rica, the treehouse was exactly what we wanted. We spent the month of February relaxing by the pool, playing in the ocean, and taking long walks on the beach. Sunsets were stunning. Manuel Antonio National Park is a must see. The fruit and vegetable stands in Parrita are great places for fresh food. We shopped at the local bakery and butcher. We also visited Jaco and Quepos more than once. The restaurant at the beginning of the road is amazing! The hosts, Debbie and Deems, were very knowledgeable about the area and available for any questions.
4 of us (two couples) stayed at the Treehouse for a week. We had a fantastic time. Everything met and exceeded out expectations at the Treehouse. Debbie and Deems were great hosts, answering any questions we had, meeting us when we arrived to show us around the place and responding quickly any time we reached out. Everything was very clean when we got there and the kitchen is well stocked and has newer modern appliances. The pool was a great place to relax around in the afternoon after a day excursion or a day at the beach. We all agreed that the beach in front of the Treehouse is one of the nicest beached we have been on. You can walk for miles and only see a few people. The sand is dark (volcanic) so you might not think it is going to be nice, but it is super fine and very soft sand. Great for walking on or playing in, the sand is amazing. There are waves all the time that are great for playing in with the boogie boards, but you do have to be aware and careful of ripe tides. We had a great week at the Treehouse and would absolutely stay here again.
We had a wonderful stay! The location is nice and quiet, right on the beach and close to Quepos. The beach is clean and soft sand. Water great for body boarding. Only downside is there is no real comfy place to sit and relax. The property manager is fantastic. Would stay here again.
I cannot say enough about this property and location! We researched Costa Rica and knew we wanted to be in the non-touristy section but within driving distance of all the great spots! This is the location. Everything was great from communication with host (Nancy) to check-in. Nancy lives right down the street so if you need anything she is a bike ride away. This property was just a few steps from the ocean. You pretty much have the beach to yourselves with views of mountains and the most amazing sunset you will ever see. That house was a great setup, plenty of room for our family. There is a pool and outdoor grilling space, which we utilized after catching fresh mahi. The only thing I would do different in the house is to have couches downstairs and move the dining table so there is a comfy place to lounge at night instead of a table. But that is minor!
There are 2 restaurants right on the street. I would suggest hitting a grocery store on the way in and getting stocked up. Also, would suggest driving into Quepos for dinner and they also have wonderful fishing charters you can book through the marina if that’s your thing. Another great trip is Manuel Antonio where you can hike the state park and will see the best views and monkeys and sloths among other sights! Jaco wasn’t our favorite, it’s super touristy with the t-shirt shops but we did that on the last day! Rainmaker is a great hike too with waterfalls.
One of our favorite vacations!
The house was beautiful and the location couldn’t have been better! Nancy was helpful and so friendly. The house had everything you could want . I can’t recommend it more!
Very nice house with beautiful view of the beach. Nancy, the property manager, was extremely available and helpful. The location was very convenient for adventures in Jaco and Quepos.
Nancy was a fantastic host and catered to our every need. Great location and a virtually private oceanfront beach to enjoy. Nancy suggested ideas for our 7-year-old granddaughter and introduced us to a local guide and surf instructor. We would definitely return. Thanks Nancy for a very memorable stay.
Relaxing and beautiful time out in the Treehouse, Parrita
Traveling with a larger family is not always easy. However, the beautifully designed and located Treehouse in Parrita on Palo Seco beach has helped to make the vacation days spent there unforgettable. In the course of our almost one-week stay we enjoyed the nearby beach, explored the nearby impressing Mangrove forest with a guided boat, let the days end at the well-kept pool and enjoyed the excellently furnished Treehouse. In the house itself everything worked perfectly, from the showers to the air condition and it was very clean. The attention paid to us by Nancy has contributed to the feeling of well-being. The stay in the Treehouse is -also for families up to 6 persons- absolutely recommendable.
Beach was amazing - a strong undertow so not for everyone perhaps but basically a private beach. Body surfing was great! House was very comfortable with private bath for each bedroom. Would consider going back!
Beautiful house on the beach with pool, everything you will need
Amazing house with everything you will need. Well stocked kitchen. Cooked almost all meals, was perfect. Morning walks on the beach, day trips and then pool for cool down and evening relaxation. Perfect location for day trips, this is one of the best beach areas in Costa Rica in a remote area!
Multiple patios so you can have sun or no sun, depending the time of day.
We watched monkeys in the trees, many birds. Can walk to the estuary, miles and miles of private beach.
Close groceries - has no needs the whole time we were there.
Only issue, bring ear plugs - the house is not well insulated and the local dogs bark all night (and day) and crying kids in adjacent houses (if you’re trying to sleep in the hammock).
