Liked: Cleanliness, location
Disliked: Check-in
Think Twice
The good: The property is well-located, especially close to the Musée de Louvre. Lots of cafes in the area, and a Metro stop is close by.
The apartment was clean, except for the rug in the living room, which might have been white at one time but now is gray.
Communication with the English-speaking host was timely.
The not so good: The check-in process was complicated, and no one met us at the property. It didn’t help that some of the instructions were in French, which made no sense when renting to Americans. In fact, we had to help a couple who checked in the day after us because they were so confused.
The property was cool during the day, but at night it was really warm and no thermostat adjustments helped.
Because the apartment is located on the first floor, there is some street noise and the windows are opaque to prevent people on the street from seeing in to the apartment. There appears to be a Metro line running beneath the building; we could hear low rumbles at regular intervals throughout the day and night.
There was not enough hot water for two short showers.
The only option for hanging clothes is a cabinet with a rod that cannot be reached by an average-sized person (less than 7 feet tall). To reach the hanging rod, we had to use a rickety step stool, which is very unsafe.
