About this property

Uzès: Town and Country! Newly renovated house with large pool and grounds!

Ideally located where the medieval city of Uzès blends into the Provençal countryside, “La Petite Garrigue” is a traditional shepherd’s dwelling which has been extended into a cozy cottage (1000 square feet), fully refurbished in 2024 specifically for vacation rentals. It comprises three double bedrooms, (each with its own “ensuite” shower room and WC, and one of which has a large private first floor terrace), a living room, dining room and separate kitchen. A further outside terrace provides an extensive space for outdoor dining in the shade of a giant oak tree. The house has air-conditioning throughout, and two of the three bedrooms benefit from ground-level access. (One bedroom is only accessible from the outside but is just a few meters from the main house).

“La Petite Garrigue” has a large swimming pool (13M x 5M) , equipped with six sun-loungers and nestling among century-old oaks, majestic pine and bountiful olive trees. (The pool can be heated on request in April, May and September, at an extra cost of 20 Euros per day. )
The 1.5 acres of completely private grounds, bordered by picturesque dry-stone walls, are classified as an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Further features include outdoor kitchen facilities (an electric griddle for barbecuing, a fridge, a second dishwasher and a sink) a bespoke pitch for enjoying a game of boules, ( in the shade during the day, and which can be lit up in the evenings), an electric vehicle charging point (cost billed on usage), and free parking for up to 6 cars.

The house is also available for winter renatls of one month minimum, and for four people maximum. Between mid-October and end of March the pool is closed, and one of the three bedrooms is converted to an office.

The Duchy of Uzès, with its historic monuments, cobbled streets, lively restaurants, chic boutiques and renowned Provençal market, is just 5 minutes away by car, or a 30-minute walk through the beautiful “Eure Valley.”
Closer to the property, (3 minutes by car or 15 minutes on foot) there is a variety of excellent local shops, an organic bakery, a petrol-station, and a hypermarket.

Avignon and Nimes train stations (high-speed trains to Paris and Marseilles) and Nimes airport are all 45 minutes away by car. Marseilles and Montpellier airports can be reached in 90 minutes by car.

The winters in Uzès are agreeably mild, and the town is lively, thanks to an excellent selection of restaurants and shops that stay open all year long. Being in a peaceful environment, but close to all facilities, "La Petite Garrigue" is also a perfect choice for longer stays and for home-working out of season.

“La Petite Garrigue” is the perfect base for all types of vacation, whether you want to explore the timeless villages nearby with their wine producers and colorful markets brimming with local goods, or just laze by the pool in the shade of the olive trees.

For the curious, there are many UNESCO classified monuments within easy reach, such as the remarkable roman aqueduct “Pont du Gard” (12 minutes by car) or the vast 14th century Papal Palace in Avignon. Other historical towns such as Nimes, Arles and Orange also just wait to be explored and enjoyed with their lively summer festivals of music, theatre and photography.

For outdoor enthusiasts and for the sports-minded, the beautiful countryside around Uzès offers plenty of opportunities for nature walks and bike rides, as well as swimming in local rivers or canoeing through their impressive canyons.
Alternatively, just one hour away by car, the vast Mediterranean beaches of the Languedoc region offer crowd-free sea-bathing.

Ranked in the Top 10 most welcoming places in the world by Booking.com reviewers in 2023, Uzes is the gateway to all your vacation dreams, and “La Petite Garrigue” now awaits you here!

The best property I every stayed in in Uzes! 5 star ⭐️
We as a family come to Uzes every year with our dogs! I was delighted to see this property come live! It passed our expectations completely. Firstly the whole experience with our hosts JC and Philip was above anything. Nothing we asked or required was an issue. So knowledgable and their love of Uzés shone though. The amount of time saving and getting the best recommendations was incredible. The house is so clean and so classy. Renovated to such a high standard with alot of soul which I don’t feel from a lot of french rentals. I kinda felt at home but in France. You can definitely see from the owners that they are super creative. Every detail is thought out and so comfortable. The outdoors is vast. They have thought of eveything, we spent any nights and days playing pétanque and swimming and relaxing and so private. What I loved about this also is location. Not far at all from uzes. You can walk it if you like waking but you are right next to the carefour/ bio shops/ Boulangeries and the choice is endless. You are then near the main road to Collias, Pont du gard and everywhere else. The secret of this place also is where it js placed you don’t get stuck in the traffic of uzes ( this is so important) like all the other areas coming into Uzés.. market time you can park your car quite near and walk up or walk through the parc. It’s stunning. We have already booked for next year and can’t wait to come back! Thank you!
