Thanks for a nice get away
This house is perfect if you are looking for a lake side stay with your family/friends and host kelly has been very quick when it comes to replying to my queries.
This VRBO is excellent. Worthy of my time to leave a review. The home was clean, beds comfortable, totally furnished kitchen (I cook from scratch), loved the river and kayaks. Wish all VRBOs were up to this standard!!! Bravo - well done :)
This house easily accommodated three families which included 6 adults and 4 children. The property was beautiful. The river was amazing for fishing, swimming, and kayaking. The kids loved the bunk room. This house is remotely located which we loved. There was no cell service and the internet was spotty, but we like disconnecting when on vacation so this worked for us. Kelly was responsive when there were any questions and quickly resolved a plumbing issue. Having the kayaks available were so much fun and we put in at Hootentown twice to float down the river back to the house. We loved this vacation!
We loved this property! It had plenty of space for our entire family of 15, a beautiful view of the river, and the kayaks and life jackets provided were amazing! We also found the host, Kelly, to be extremely responsive and kind in every message we exchanged. She was so understanding, even when we learned that we may have misplaced a remote. Would absolutely recommend this property!
The house was beautiful and very spacious. Very private which was exactly what we were looking for. Virtually no cell signal and upon arrival found out there was a cap on the wifi which would’ve been nice to know ahead of time. A very peaceful weekend.
Beautiful home. Big yard that ends in a lovely little river. House is well equipped with everything you may need. Very remote. Solitude but no cell service. I was towing a boat and couldn't park it on the property due to a very narrow entrance gate. Will most surely rent this place again as a stop for our annual houseboat trip
Beautiful country setting, clean, quiet place with lots of room for everyone to relax and enjoy the outdoors. This was our perfect place! We went fishing, swimming & floating right from the backyard! Can’t wait for next year!!
Thank you!!
We really liked house and the river. It was a nice home for our Christmas away from home. It was about 30 min drive to Branson and cell phone service was spotty but we will stay here again.

About the host

My family purchased The River House a few years ago. We have enjoyed it so much we wanted other families to experience the relaxing vibe and beautiful landscape view from the back porch! My favorite things to do at The River House are to play in the water with the kids and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning on the back deck.
Why they chose this property
On the drive in, you will start to feel yourself relax as you drive under the shady canopy of the trees. The property is nice and quiet except for the sounds of the cicadas and birds. You will spot cranes and eagles swooping down to catch a fish from the river and you can catch fireflies at night or roast marshmallows on a campfire. This is the place to unwind, relax and enjoy being with friends or family.
What makes this property unique
Because the River House is right on the river, you can fish or playing in the water. If you want to float, the Hootentown canoe and kayak will pick you up and you can float right to the house! Call Hootentown for reservations and pricing. There is abundant wild life to observe. Since it is located between Branson, MO and Springfield, MO there is plenty to do.
