Secluded property, peaceful and close to Harrison, longer boat ride to Naples. Large enough for family/friends & dog friendly - has everything you will need for a great week - just campy so don't expect a spotless updated place.
Barbara is a great host. She is very accommodating and promptly answered all of our questions The house is stocked with everything you need and very clean. We loved our vacation and can’t wait to go back !!
Cleanliness 1 Star, Location 5 stars, House needs Updates
Starting with the good, Location and lakefront is 5 stars Awesome. Owner is very responsive but needs local property management to check status of house after rentals. House was not cleaned properly when we arrived it was very dirty and not a good way to start vacation, the owner quickly called the cleaner back to the house that night (she had funeral and sent friend to clean) and did give some $ back. But, the house needed a deep cleaning more than just one week missed. Under beds and furniture hadn't been vacuumed in a long time there were clothes/food/bugs, cob webs and dust throughout house, and refrigerator not cleaned for while. House could use updates in one bath (corroded bath fixture, stained ring around tub) and the kitchen is very rustic. We enjoyed the lake very much. House needs some TLC and a higher cleaning standard and more frequent inspections. Owner was VERY responsive and I am sure will make it right for future renters. I hesitated about writing this review but I wanted to be honest about our experience.
We had an excellent stay at this lake front property! The spot is very private. The views of the lake from the very large porch as well as inside are phenomenal. The porch has a large table that fits 4, plus a picnic table that fits 8. The grill is large and worked well. The dock was large enough to tie up our boat, and fit several chairs for sunning. The bedrooms were comfortable and all had ACs that worked very efficiently. There were living room areas on both the first floor and second floor. The kitchen was well stocked, and the living room was stocked with games for all ages, DVDs, and books. We didn’t use the canoes, but they were present on the property. There was a large fire pit, with plenty of seating around it. We immediately rebooked this property for another stay next June and August. Can’t wait to come back!
Beautiful location, very close to lake. Plenty of room for 6 adults. Very, very private. Very well supplied with tons of Dvd's. All in all, a great week.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location could not be better - very private setting, spectacular views. We sat on the deck every morning and every afternoon to enjoy the beautiful scenery and sunsets. Plenty of room inside, nice cozy decor. Barbara was very helpful, plenty of amenities for a fun fllled stay right on the lake!
Place is as described. House is comfortable with lots of common space, perfect for hanging out with friends. Nice rural location, beautiful lake with sunset views. Great for a weekend getaway with friends.
Overall good stay. Smoke detector beeping (need battery changed??), minimal hot water (more tepid temp), canoe had a crack and takes on water...two kayaks good condition but only three adult life preservers to use. Great location but definitely no sandy beach area.
You could not ask for a better lakeside retreat, with a dock just steps from the door and a covered porch filled with chairs, sitting so close to the water below. Add the hammock, fire pit, kayaks and canoe and what could be better! AC in the bedrooms made all the difference, and plenty of towels and supplies tucked away meant you had everything at hand. Great getaway!
This property is beautiful. Sprawling views of the lake, a great deck to take in the view, a lakeside firepit, and a great dock. Everything you need for a beautiful lake weekend. Communication with the property owner was great -- very responsive and extremely helpful.
10 out of 10 experience. Hoping to be back soon!
We had 6 adults on the property, everyone was comfortable! The location is breathtaking with the lake at your feet. We rented a pontoon boat for 2 days and some rented jet skis, such a wonderful playground. Would definitely return...

About the host
Hosted by Barbara Angelico
The cottage was built in 1964 by my father, a prominent builder in the Boston area, As children, we spent summers in Maine at the cottage exploring and enjoying all the wonderful things that Maine has to offer. From the lakes to the mountains to the shore there was always something to do. There we learned to drive a boat, swim, waterski, canoe, kayak and fish. We enjoyed many memorable 4th of July celebration with lots of family and friends, lobster bakes, roasting marshmallows, bonfires and fireworks. For 50 years our family has enjoyed this family retreat. At this point no one has the luxury of spending summers there, so we decided it was time to share this most special location with others.
