We recently stayed here for a girls trip and had the best time! The house is so nice and the perfect location! It was very clean and had everything we needed. We will definitely be back!
I booked this for 2 main reasons. One that there was a wood burning stove and second for 2 bathrooms. Imagine my disappointment when there was NO wood burning stove. Really need to update pictures as even the fridge is not the same as in the picture picture!!!
This house was perfect for our girls getaway. There were lots of common spaces for us to gather, chat, eat and play games but enough bedrooms and quiet spaces to relax in.
Loved easy access to wineries too!
The house was beautiful and conveniently located next to a winery. The house was larger than we expected, very clean and quite lovely. We would highly recommend staying here as it is quite peaceful in the scenery was pretty.

This property is beautiful! The house is amazing and provided everything we needed! It was wonderful to sit out on the deck in the evenings and watch the deer. So peaceful and close enough to town for groceries and a family outing to the local bowling alley.
This was the cleanest place I’ve ever stayed! The location was great for our girls’ get-together. Regina was so friendly and responsive. We had a great time.
The property is absolutely gorgeous. We were surprised on how large the house was. Plenty of space for everyone! Right next door to the vineyard and centrally located on the wine trail.
This home is exactly as described. There are many great features but most notable is how pristine this home was - from top to bottom. Clearly a well loved property. We stayed for the solar eclipse and it beat our expectations! Close to many wonderful hikes and rock climbing adventures in nearby parks and the Shawnee National Forest. Great bird watching.
This was a return trip for friends of 40+ years. Everything was the exact same: bright, clean, and airy. The kitchen has anything you could need to cook a meal (we made two dinners, the second bbq-ing steaks on the grill). The bathrooms are well-stocked and clean. We love this place. So serene. Hope to return in one year, God willing.
This home was absolutely perfect. The pictures do not do it justice. The home is spacious and was immaculate. We had an amazing time staying here and enjoyed several wineries in the area. Highly recommend this home!
My friends and I stayed here for a wine trip weekend. It was absolutely perfect!! Being within walking distance from the slushies at Starview Winery is a game changer! The house was clean, beds were soft and the scenery of the vineyard is amazing. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back! Thank you!
Regina was a wonderful host. The house was clean, well stocked, and as advertised. The kitchen was perfect for our family. It was a short drive to nearly everywhere we wanted to go. We loved watching the fireflies and listening to the bullfrogs outside at night. Starview wines were delicious and the tasting room was fun! We will plan to stay here whenever we come back to visit. Thank you!
We had four couples. We are all in our 60s. The place was perfect for us. Very roomy, well appointed, right in the middle of the wine trail. Would also like to mention Wright transportation, and their driver “Karl with a K”. He was delightful. The whole weekend was just perfect. Definitely would stay here again.
Our group of 7 former co-workers (who met back in 1981 and have remained friends for 40+ years) stayed two nights. This house was perfect for our gathering: huge, clean, decorated so nicely, with plenty of indoor and outdoor gathering places to relax, adjacent to Starview Winery, with a well-equipped kitchen—I could go on and on. Bonus: the bluebirds outside the dining room window. The large sectional couch was ideal for watching the King’s Coronation. We had a ball. Looking forward to a return trip.
We rented the house for a weekend to set up our boutique for StarView’s event. The house was amazing. The pictures are great but once you get there you’ll be in awe. It’s such a cute farmhouse and so much bigger than you think. Lots of space to spread out and perfect for a group weekend. Regina was a wonderful host and even set wine back for us to pick up on our way back from dinner. It was so nice to park the cars and walk right across the yard to relax by the pond, listening to music and sipping our wine! We will for sure be renting again!
In our group of 6 adults, 4 are SIU alums. We wanted to spend a few days near our old stomping grounds. We could not have picked a better place. Just a bit off the beaten track but easily within reach of everything we wanted. The home is clean, comfortable, and charming. Best of all, it is just steps away from Starview Vineyards tasting room. If you are looking for a crazed party house this isn't it. But if you're looking for wonderful relaxing surroundings and great hosts you've come to the right place. Free advice: Don't miss their Vignoles. If that's not your thing then go for the wine slushies!
StarView is our favorite winery on the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. What better way to enjoy it than staying in the house right next door!
The house is very spacious, yet cozy. It is beautifully decorated with lots of cute decorations. Our group had three couples, and everyone had plenty of space. We had such a fun time sitting at the big table playing cards and other games. We love being outside, so the outdoor area is perfect. Nice touch having coffee and creamer in the cabinet, especially since we all forgot about bringing any. :-)
Regina is very easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed. She was very helpful and responded quickly to all the messages I sent to her before, during and after our trip. We highly recommend this property, and would definitely love to rent it again.
We stayed here with 6 adults and it was the perfect place to land after a visit on the wine trail! The place was very clean and well stocked. There were 3 bedrooms on the main floor that were nicely spread out for us 3 couples to have privacy. Would work for a family as well. The highlight for me was the steam shower! The only negative was the 4th bedroom upstairs (that we didn't need) was so hot it would've been unusable. We didn't see a separate air conditioner up there, but that would be a must if you needed to use that room. So for anyone needing the 4th bedroom, I would ask in advance if there's a way to properly heat/cool it. Oh, and for coffee people, they have a regular coffee maker, no Keurig, so bring ground coffee. The only coffee there was a bucket of Folgers. Better than nothing, but wish I had brought my own coffee. Other than that, it was great! Beautiful property and I got to see deer come graze in the evening. Will most likely stay here again!
We stayed here because all the hotels were booked for family and friends day at SIUC. This property was AWESOME. The pictures on the listing does not do this property any justice. I was very very happy with the property. It is very spacious and we were not all on top of each other. It’s next to a vineyard that you can go have wine and even order food. The patio in the back of the house allowed us to sit out and look over the countryside as well as barbecue and just have fun with the family. We played games and have family night with my daughter. I cooked the whole time that we were there. Because the college students want a home cooked meal.
The only issue was we are city people and this house was off of a dirt road that was very dark at night. The first night there my daughter drove to the house with her friends for taco night. She cried and prayed when she got to the dirt road. So I had to make them stay the night because she was afraid to drive back to the dorm.
But other then that this house was Amazing. The owner was very helpful and attentive to my needs. She was very easy to communicate her and her husband. I just really really really appreciated her. I would stay there again on my next trip to my daughters school
