It's a very spacious, and yet cozy cabin, perfect for family getaways. The open floor plan allows for plenty of natural light, making the living area feel warm and inviting. The outdoor space is nice, with a deck that’s ideal for enjoying morning coffee or evening barbecues, surrounded by the serene beauty of nature. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to relax and make memories with loved ones. Highly recommended for a peaceful and rejuvenating stay!
We got there 2 hours early. We were hoping to get in and drop off food that needed to be refrigerated, but the place wasn't ready for us. So we went sightseeing, out for dinner and then returned around 8. Because of poor cell service on my part, I didnt receive the code to get in the door and had to contact them. They were nice about it. Once inside, the place was cozy. Thank you for sharing your house with us.
Overall my wife and I enjoyed our stay at the A frame cabin. The location was great for exploring Mt Rainier and it was quite comfortable and well decorated.
There were a few issues that keep me from leaving a fully 5 star review. The biggest one being that there was a motion detecting light meant to illuminate the steep entrance staircase that had been unplugged. I relayed this information to the owners and they said it must have been disconnected by a previous renter. Due to it being disconnected though, we had to lug our stuff up to the cabin in the dark (sans the light right by the door). This was unsafe and regardless of what a previous renter did, stuff like that should be checked by owners/upkeep staff when readying a property for it’s next guests. I fixed the issue myself.
Also, we found the TV was unplugged as well when we got there. Small matter, I plugged it back in. Also oddly, there was a birthday balloon floating at the ceiling of the cabin which must have also been left by a previous tenant. Not a deal breaker by any means but the culmination of all these issues left a bit if a bad taste in our mouths because it felt like not enough care was shown in readying the place.
All that said, the owners were quite responsive and apologetic. Our stay was good outside of these issues.
This cabin is as you see in the photos, and worked well for my family stay. My mother, son and two granddaughters (7 and 12) were with me. We had everything we needed.
The bedroom has a very comfortable king bed. The loft has two comfortable queen beds tucked under the eves. The third loft bed, a single, is very hard and makes noises whenever you move. My son switched to the couch after one night on that twin. The very good news is the couches are very comfortable! The two chairs you see in front of the window are as well. (It's important that everyone in the group has a comfortable place to sit.) We loved playing the games, which is such a nice touch, having those available. It was a blessing to have our little maltese with us, so thank you very much for allowing dogs. If you are up early in the morning you will see the elk pass by. We were rationing our towel use until a few days in when I found a load in the dryer. This place has plenty of towels.
Communications were good. There was no sponge in the kitchen and someone dropped by with one the next day, before I could pick one up at the grocery store.
What wasn't great was the level of cleanliness for some areas. We pulled sticky dishes & a fairly filthy casserole dish from the cupboard. Also the bathroom smelled better after my mom cleaned it. Some dirty window sills, the lamps are laden with dust. It's a cabin! Even so, the kitchen experience is dependent on the previous guest, not a cleaner we pay for.
Our family loved our stay. The A-Frame had everything we needed. Close grocery nearby and easy drive to Mt. Rainier. It was the perfect place for our family of 5!

Nice very clean cabin on a quiet street. Driveway is a little steep at the top and some general maintenance stuff needing minor attention but overall a great place to stay a couple nights. Beds were comfortable, there is a fire pit on the side of the house and a community pool down the road you can use if you give the owner a 3 days heads up. Lots of puzzles and games for all ages. Great spot to take the family if exploring Mt Ranier!
My family and I stayed here for a week, and we absolutely loved it! Finding the place and getting checked in was easy, and the owner had all of the essentials (dishes, board games, towels, toiletries). The location is amazing, it’s quiet and the little town of Packwood is awesome. It’s also perfectly located to see all kinds of stuff (Rainier, lakes, hiking trails). The cabin itself is clean and cozy, and fit all six of us perfectly comfortably! Highly recommend!
Spacious and cozy A-frame on the outskirts of a small village south of Mt. Rainier. Just around the corner from a small and relaxed country club. Neighbors were friendly, and the location was incredibly well-maintained. Lots of good, small-town restaurants nearby, and only about a ten minute drive to the nearest grocery. A truly wonderful location.

My family enjoyed our time very much. There are beautiful hikes close by. The cabin was stocked with all the things you could ever want. Cozy bedding and furniture. Definitely will be coming back.
Just what we needed! With 3 busy kids, it is difficult to find open times where we can all just BE together for extended periods of time. We had this trip planned for Christmas, but had to reschedule. Couldn't have been a more perfect time with 'spring' skiing weather, long walks with our pups and cozy game nights with the fire going. This was the perfect spot as it had everything we needed!
We had a cozy time at the cabin. The kitchen has plenty of dishes and appliances. The table is big enough for the whole group. The beds are comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the electric blanket and the fireplace.
The property was just as described and decorated very nicely! The space felt private and very cozy with a nice variety of pillows and blankets to cozy up with in the cooler weather. We loved the backyard view of forest and quietness of the neighborhood. The kitchen is very well stocked with many pots, pans and even some containers for leftovers. We spent most of our days skiing at White Pass which took us about 25-30 minutes to get there from the cabin. The host was very quick to respond and very helpful. On the last day of skiing I broke my shoulder and was even more grateful for the large bed downtown stairs and abundance of pillows to prop myself up with. Overall a great trip and a fantastic place to stay!
A couple friends and I stayed here for my birthday and it was soul filling and delightful! Ashley was timely, courteous, and helpful. There’s great people around, great coffee and beer in town with out of towners and locals! It was peaceful and a well needed rest in the mountains
My wife and I stayed here with our 1 year old. With some furniture rearrangement it was safe for her to crawl around. We cooked all our meals in a small but well-appointed kitchen, made fires in the wood stove (the mini split was not able to produce heat in the living room), and very much enjoyed our time relaxing here. The king bed was comfortable and had a heated blanket. The only real downside was the coffee situation -- only a Keurig, no coffee pot/French press/pour over. They even provided a bottle of wine, which was a nice touch.
We hope to come back!
The moment we got to the cabin, we fell in love. Pictures looked great but in person was even better. 2 nights was not enough. Unexpected things happen on our first night, like the power being out, but so grateful that the cabin was fully stocked with what we needed. The power outage did not bother us and were able to still enjoy our stay. Other than that everything else was perfect! We had a great experience at the cabin!
Thank you,
Alyzza
