About this property

Group Camping Compound

Great Location for Outdoor Enthusiasts. Minutes from Nevada City, Yuba River, Bullard's Bar and other outstanding recreational opportunities. Wi-Fi, Cell Service, Dump Station and EV Charging all available.

Our hilltop Camping Compound has the best view on the property! Enjoy private camping with your friends close to many outstanding outdoor adventure opportunities - the Yuba River, Bullard's Bar, State Parks, hiking trails and biking to name a few. Best of all, our Camping Compound has enough amenities to take away many of the hassles of camping while keeping intact the essential camping experience. You can get cell service through-out the area, and Wi-Fi at specific spots.

Rental of the Camping Compound includes use of 8+ camping sites (bring your own tents and sleeping gear), a kitchen and bathhouse - all for your group's exclusive use. The camping sites are level and allow enough for large tents. There are multiple potable water spigots inside the camping compound.

Cook your meals in the fully equipped kitchen without the hassle of constantly buying ice for coolers, because the 2 full-sized refrigerators can hold a lot of groceries. Cook meals using the provided pots and pans on the stove, oven, or BBQ. Then enjoy eating your prepared meal under the trees on the large 18' outside dining table just a stone's throw from the kitchen. Provided plastic dinner plates, bowls, and cups can serve over 50 people, so we have your group covered for dishes.
Afterwards clean-up is easy in the triple-sink found in the kitchen.
The bathhouse provides 2 sinks, 2 private flush toilets, and 2 private showers, where guests provide their own towels and toiletries.

In the evening relax around the central fire pit and make s'mores (isn't that mandatory for camping?) and enjoy the time being with your family and friends. Sing songs and enjoy the sunset from the hilltop. The property's 14 acres has hiking trails and a disc golf course is planned for 2024.

For an additional rental fee, a furnished yurt, tent platform with tent, and multiple RV sites with various hook-up options are also available. This includes 3 full hookup sites, several partial hook-up sites and self-contained sites. Let us know that you want to rent these add-ons, and we will provide a "send money" request to your booking.

The yurt is adjacent to the fenced in camping area, and is the perfect solution for groups that include someone not quite up for tent camping. Maybe this is grandpa, or a new family with little ones that would like a few more amenities than found in a tent. Or maybe just someone who really likes sleeping in a bed! The yurt is furnished with a full size bed, a queen sofa bed, love seat, table, chairs and electricity and rents for $100/night. Sheets and blankets are provided! There is no bathroom or kitchen in the yurt, so yurt guests use the community bathhouse and kitchen too.

Dogs: Because the campsite area is fully fenced in, so you don't have to leave your best friend behind! Friendly and well-behaved dogs are allowed if the following rules are followed:
1) Guests are 100% responsible for their dogs behavior!
2) All dogs must be friendly and well-behaved, and non-aggressive towards other dogs.
Male dogs must be neutered or special permission requested.
3) Dogs must remain inside the fenced camping area while on the property or on a leash
outside the fenced area. The smaller fenced areas inside the larger area is available for
use as well.
4) Guests may not leave dogs unattended during the day on the property.
5) Guest must be aware that wildlife live in the area and could potentially harm your pet.
There have been bears and mountain lions on the property.
6) Guests must clean up after their dogs or an extra $50 cleaning fee will be
assessed.
7) There is a fee of $35 per dog under 40 pounds and $50 per dog over 40 pounds per
visit.

Our parking area is plenty large enough to accommodate trailers with boats and keeps the camping area feeling natural and free of flammable oils on the ground. There is an EV charging station on the property.

Willow Springs is a working farm, and we strive to be environmentally conscious around issues of sustainability, recycling and landfills. We ask our guests who stay with us to join in.

Sustainability: we build our own healthy soils without buying oil-based chemical fertilizers. You can help us by contributing your food waste into our composting system. This also saves food items from going into landfills, where rotting food produces methane, a potent greenhouse gas. Did you know that we could reduce greenhouse emissions by 6-8% simply by keeping food waste out of landfills? There are several food waste buckets for you to scrape all unwanted food items into.

Recycling: reduce items going to landfills by placing all recyclable containers into the blue bins. Please EMPTY containers of all liquid first.

Trash: All trash has to be brought into the county transfer station and paid to be disposed of, by us. Reducing trash has very practical implications besides environmental awareness (like keeping our campground affordable). Anything that can't be composted or recycled can go in the trash. We provide 5 full cans/group/stay of trash disposal as part of your rental. After that, we charge a $10/can disposal fee.

Our hope is that this private Camping Compound can provide a memorable fun-packed group experience in a hassle-free way!

A magical retreat in the heart of the Gold Country

Our family stayed at the campsite for a weekend where we had gone rafting and wanted to spend more time enjoying the local rivers. The hosts were fantastic, treating us more like family showing up to visit than guests at a campground. They helped us get settled and were available with tips and recommendations for the area. The property is expertly set up for groups of all types, from campers and glampers to a full wedding party in the main retreat center. The gardens were amazing! We spent a long time touring them and marveling at the beautifully tended crops and fruit trees. Our timing was good (August) to be able to sample stone fruits that were bursting on the branches of all the trees at once. We look forward to visiting again with groups of friends!
