Charming older house, one bathroom is usually ok but this particular one isn't spaced well(toilet, sink and shower are too close together). The house smells like old cigarette smoke. Comfortable furniture but mattresses are too firm. Very gracious host, came over immediately to resolve minor issues and she also gave helpful information regarding places to eat and drink. She also stocked the house very nicely (plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, bath linens, and water in fridge. Also, basket of snacks, wine tasting tickets, and coffee from the local Dirty Joe's coffee house. Southern on Main is a must for excellent craft kitchen food! The location is convenient the only drawback being the proximity of the highway in the back yard and also in the flight path of all air traffic coming into the local hospital which is very close. Deck furniture needs repair, there are benches that are losing trim pieces and have sharp screws exposed, hazard for young kids. The TV is limited to Roku and Netflix and a few other channels...no YouTube. There is a fire stick. No Keurig.
Exactly what we were looking for. Love the decor, spacious living area, better than normal selection cooking utensils and serving dishes available. Very thoughtful host.
Overall the house was very nice, but amenities not accurate
The house was very convenient and clean. Kitchen was well stocked. However, there were some issues. The fireplace was non-functional, so should not have been included in amenities. There were no towel bars in the bathroom other than 3 hooks inside the linen closet. When there are 4 adults using the house, that just won't work. We had mentioned this as a problem last year when we stayed. Lastly, I had to hunt inside the linen closet to find some toiletries. There was some shampoo and conditioner, but no soap or body wash. We had to run to the store and buy soap.
Robin was great. The house was very clean and comfortable. Basic supplies were in the house.. Great to have coffee there. Great location- close to shopping, grocery stores and wineries🍷 !! Would definitely stay again!
Very clean warm and cozy!! We visited a few local wineries and enjoyed dinner in downtown elkin less than 2 miles from house! Great weekend with friends!
We stayed at the Outer Banks for a week and wanted to extend our vacation by a few days and so we booked this home. Well decorated and many necessaries provided. Nice porch and picnic table to eat outdoors. We enjoyed visiting Mt. Airy/Mayberry which is about a half hour drive away. The house was a little hard to find because we arrived after dark and there are numbers by the front door but not on the mailbox. but we managed. Also the flagstone path to the side door where you enter the code is a bit uneven and could be precarious if arriving after dark. Overall though, we enjoyed our stay. Thanks!
This house felt like a home away from home. It was very clean, renovated, and well stocked with kitchen supplies. The neighborhood was pretty quiet and felt safe, we even saw a deer pass through the backyard one evening. There is a busy road nearby that we heard a lot of traffic on, and the place didn't feel quite as "in the country" or "in the mountains" as I'd hoped, but it was nice overall.
We had a great time and will be making this our home away from home, when visiting family in the area. Cute, clean, and close to everything. Had deers walking in front and back yard! Robin is a great hostess and very easy to accommodate. Thanks Robin for going the extra mile!
