New Grange and High Crosses

We chose this area for the ability to get to New Grange Monasterboice High Crosses and the Dublin Airport. Plus it looked like a really sweet place. We absolutely loved it. The Stables is very comfortable and really beautiful. It’s fun being part of the farm. We were gone each day but getting to the sights we wanted to see was easy and we found Smuglers Rest nearby for dinner which was great. Wish we had more time to spend there. I’m looking for an excuse to come back! Rosie stopped by to meet us which was really sweet. We loved our stay!

BEST Kept Secret, Near Ocean with 5k walking trail, too!

Fairytale. Historic. Just renovated. Not “people-y”. Peaceful. Fresh air. Quiet. Picturesque country (we stayed early September). Worth the 45min drive from the Dublin airport to rest out the jet lag and begin decompressing ahead of our scheduled 10-day tour of the country. I recommend some extra time before and after any guided tours. It would have been amazing to plan our whole stay around this property for maximum relaxation in luxury and comfort. Property is completely magical. It was like being in a fairytale. It transports you to a different time staying in an historic building that has been very recently restored in stunning fashion with luxurious amenities. We spent 2 days wandering the property, admiring all the wild blackberry bushes and petting the family dogs and pony. But you have total privacy in either house for rent and could go your whole trip without seeing much of a soul. Or you might see the wonderful owners out on the vast property and ask some questions about the history of the property and area. We were told there is a trail by the stream that runs through the property that takes you on a 5k walk right to the beach. Or take the short drive to the gorgeous clean beaches, all with beautiful shells.HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
