Step into the past in this beautifully maintained 150 year old adobe house built by Leopoldo Carilllo, one of the earliest Tucson pioneers. The Presidio is the oldest neighborhood in Tucson with origins dating back to 1775 when Spanish settlers enclosed the walled military fort, but the area`s history is actually much older with evidence of human settlements and agriculture around the Santa Cruz river dating back over 4000 years ago! Come and enjoy being a part of Tucson`s fascinating history in this unique home.
The house is roomy and elegant with high ceilings and lots of character. Historical touches pair with modern appliances to make your stay comfortable. Relax in the cool adobe or in the back yard under the shade of the huge mesquite tree. Comfortable beds with natural linens and a fully equipped kitchen will make your stay feel like home. The house is full of original art, handmade ceramics and other interesting objects to entertain and inspire all who stay here. The house is stand-alone and entirely yours to make yourself at home in.
The neighborhood is full of life and culture. You`ll be walking distance to downtown Tucson, the warehouse arts district, 4th ave. and fabulous of dining and nightlife. The U of A, Saguaro National Monument, The Desert Museum and Sentinel peak are just minutes away as well. As with all homes in downtown Tucson you will hear the whistle of the trains as they pass through town, ear plugs may be recommended for light sleepers.

One off street parking space, and one parking permit for parking in front of the house.

Oldie but goodie

Yes, it's a very old house in an old neighborhood but clean and near downtown. Plenty of room for a family or small group. If you don't mind "old" it is a comfortable stay. The kitchen is small and not many pans but we just made breakfast and took dinner at restaurants. There are many restaurants to choose from so go for it.

Interesting old adobe

Nice place and surprised that being so close to the trains didn't bother us that much.

Very cool place. Loved the way it was decorated- artistic eye for sure. Large enough to spread out .

Liked the place a lot. Large with artistic style and clean and comfortable. Interesting hip neighborhood- Would recommend . There is a train that runs nearby but you get used to the whistle and didn’t bother us too much.

Great location

Had a wonderful stay. Comfy beds. Good water pressure. Well stocked kitchen. Washer and dryer. We had a bit of an issue when we arrived as the bedding was still in washing machines and beds not made. They waived the cleaning fee and sent someone to make beds and clean bedrooms that evening. That part sucked but the house itself was great. Mistakes happen. If that isnt theor normal way of business everything else should be great.
