Beautiful and quiet Cottage with 230' Frontage on Gun Point Cove
The cottage is located on the west side of Gun Point Cove 20 feet above and 50 feet from the water’s edge on a very private treed lot facing the early morning sunrise and south east down the cove to the Atlantic Ocean; which can be viewed from the large bay windows and the sliding glass doors in the living room and master bedroom above or the decks outside those rooms. Venture outside down the path and along the 230 feet of deep water frontage where a fire pit with large log seats allows viewing of seals and birds swimming or an occasional fish jumping. The fire pit has firewood close by and a picnic table that seats six. Walk 40 feet south you come to a dock and ramp extending 20 feet into the water with a 10’X16’ float attached; even at a minus tide you still have 4 feet of water under the front of the float. This allows your own craft or kayaks (or rental craft) to be tied to the float or you can fish from or just sun bathe on the float (use of the dock is at your own risk).

An eagle nests near our bedroom. Over the water glide ospreys, gulls, cormorants, herons, terns and a few we haven’t met yet! We love this treehouse and feel blessed to be here. Thank you, Al!
The house is a great place to relax. Very peaceful with access to a dock. We saw many eagles and ospreys. Beautiful sunrises over the water every morning. Not a good area to go for a walk but there are many nearby hiking trails.
House was homey and well organized with good instructions about gaining access, using the laundry and kayeks and so on. The best part was waking up in the master bedroom to the glow of early morning light: from the skylight to the many windows that open up high on the hill shadowed by towering pines. In spite of unusual 100plus heat, we were comfortable sleeping at night without AC. My only recommendation to visitors is to park at the opening half way down the slope; not the opening close to the house. Much easier to turn around

Wonderful, Relaxing Vacation!
A friend and I stayed at the house this last week and we had the greatest time! The house is so comfortable, very clean and the owners provide everything you could ever want or need - and then some. We didn't want to leave and were trying to think of ways to stay even longer. We had so much fun out on the dock in the mornings and evenings - spent lots of time on the decks too - what an amazing view. We figured out that you can see the water from every room on the main floor - there are windows anywhere you can put windows. We had a fire going down at the fire pit every night except the one day it rained. It is so quiet and the stars are so bright at night. We had to contact the maintenance man for one small issue and he came immediately, fixed our issue and was extremely helpful and very nice. I left some clothing there and called the nice lady who does the cleaning and she was very helpful and promised to send my items to me right away. Everyone has been so great! We took a lot of short trips to Freeport, Bath and Portland but also spent a lot of time hanging out around the islands of Harpswell. We took a lot of great pictures too. This is a wonderful place to stay and we highly recommend this to anyone who would like a comfortable place to stay on the water, with great views and easy access to everything. We had lobster and other seafood every single day. We hope to come back again next year. Thank you Al and Ginger for a great, great vacation!!
We (husband + kids) stayed here for a long weekend for my husband’s birthday. He loves to fish so this was a great spot. Though he didn’t have any luck with the fish, we all enjoyed our stay and you couldn’t ask for a better view, scenery, and surroundings. The house was comfortable to meet our family’s needs with 2 teens and 1 infant. Great stay.
We feel incredibly lucky to be able to stay at Al’s place. Not only located with such a beautiful location right in front of water in Harpswell but such quiet/private place! Close to the Freeport outlets as well Portland ME! This place will not dissapoint.
This wonderful home gave us a rare opportunity to be in nature—on a marvelous bay frequented by eagles, herons, ospreys and more—and ensured our relaxation. We loved it!
Beautiful and peaceful. We couldn’t have been happier with the place. It felt remote but was still just a short drive to the grocery store and downtown Brunswick.
The view is incredible, and the amenities are amazing! It’s a fantastic location. We hope to stay there again!
Our stay was unseasonably warm and wet at the same time. There was a dampness in the air in the home which lent itself to a bit of a musty smell. This did not take away from our incredible stay, but it is something to consider if you have sensitivities/allergies. You are right on the water, so bear that in mind.
The panoramic view of the ocean from the master bedroom is breath taking. It never once got old. Hearing the waves crash against the rocks lulled us to sleep every night, and seeing the sunrise over the water was the best way to start each day.
Again, we are so excited to stay there again.
We stayed on Orr’s Island for a week- it is about 7 miles from where I grew up. The property exceeded our expectations in almost every way. It was fully stocked with everything we needed- the location on the water was quiet and very private. We saw deer, loons, herons and even a bald eagle without having to leave the property.
From this base we were in close distance to many excellent restaurants, shops, golf courses. In the evening we relaxed by the fire pit and listened to nature around us. The water views were fantastic! We definitely want to return to this location!
We had a wonderful time on our first trip to Maine. This property is right on the water and the views are amazing. We loved seeing the lobster boats each morning at sunrise. The house is very well stocked with things you might need. The owner was correct in saying there are a number of steps and this location is not appropriate for those with mobility issues. Thankfully, we had no issues but did take care on the many steps. If I have any suggestions for this beautiful location, it would be to remove some of the decorative items lining the window sills. This would allow for uninterupted views and easier cleaning of surfaces. Overall a wonderful place to stay.
This home is beautifully designed, decorated, located and fully equipped! From an amazingly well-stocked kitchen to the wrap-around scenic decks, comfortable rooms and wonderful views, we couldn't have imagined a better place for a much-needed getaway. And the quiet!!! Fantastic all around.
We had fun. It was steep somewhat going down to the fire pit and the water but I got used to it. My husband and I are seniors. We had 2 grown kids with us and two kids. , for some of the week. They loved the kayaks and the woods ! It was a great experience!
Like staying in a tree house with the comforts of home. Enjoyed beautiful fall weather, coffee on the porch, and fresh local oysters by the bonfire. A lovely getaway.
we enjoed Orrs Island and the area, quiet, scenic, great hikes, lobster and oysters fresh from the island, kayaks. The house/property is very properly descrived in the web site, actually everything is even better than showed in the pictures. Not a glitch in 3 weeks there!
Al was very helpful and responsive with our questions.
all good! recommened!
Nothing like waking up in the trees. Great dock and fire pit, gorgeous views, and total privacy. Location and views are unparalleled. Will be back next year!
