The cabin was a bit rustic and the gravel driveway was a bit of a challenge to navigate, but--overall--we really enjoyed our stay and loved how quiet and secluded the property is. We would definitely consider staying here again!
Very nice property, plenty of privacy and nice views. Stayed with a group of friends and everyone enjoyed it.

Big rock cabin
The cabin is in a good location and is quiet. It is showing its age a little. Bathroom cleanliness could use some attention. I know it is hard if owner lives out of town.
Great trip, we loved the house. Perfect for all of us and really well stocked. Patrick was an excellent host. Close to everything in Maggie valley. Highly recommend!
The cabin is rustic, clean and friendly but also a bit dated. The porch is pleasant to sit outside but there is no Mountain View and the greenery is a bit overgrown. We enjoyed our stay but if you’re looking for luxury and pampering, this is not the place for you. No coffee or even soap/shampoo was provided also, plan haul off your own garbage when you leave.
Big Rock Cabin surpassed all of my expectations. The property was as advertised, clean, comfortable, and at the best location. Patrick was always responsive and very professional. Would highly recommend to anyone looking in the Maggie Valley area. We will be coming back for sure!!!
Wonderful property. Nice, private mountain location. The cabin had everything we needed. Beautiful views. Very clean and well-kept. The pictures were very accurate. The owner was responsive and made sure we had all of the relevant information before and during our visit. We will stay again if we return to the area.
The property is easy to find and easy to get to. The property owner/ manager communicated before, during, and after our stay. The property is private, quiet, and not to far from Maggie Valley and Waynesville. The inside is charming and cozy. The Cleanliness of the cabin was spot on. Clean linens, towels and a stocked kitchen. We enjoyed our long weekend and would rent again.
Towels weren’t washed still had smell to them back screen door was laying on back deck 2 small bags trash left behind from prior renter bedding smelled musty unit in need of some upkeep inside and out needs lawn work done dead trees removed near back deck front porch wipe down for green mold wasn’t very well maintained checked out 1 day early
Pros: good location
Amenities as stated
Beds comfortable
Privacy
Cons:Pet urine smell due to carpet in bedrooms and area rug in living room
Decor was nice or dusty, falling apart
Door on microwave was coming off
Closet in one bedroom looked like it had water damage and didn’t hang my clothes in it
Weak spot in wooden deck. Covered with grill to keep safe
As we approached cabin, first thing we saw was a small, ragged, dirty yard flag
We did have a nice stay but housekeeping was atrocious. Bathroom rugs were not clean. Property and porch in disrepair.
For the price, would not stay again. Communication with host was good nothing he could do during our stay. Poor housekeeping wasn’t a one time thing. Wonderful area to visit
Pros: location, privacy, cabin feel
Cons: cabin could be cleaner, not enough dinnerware, stains on carpet/rugs, driveway pot holes, smaller than the pictures look, no cable tv
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It has a very nice "cabiny" feel to it. However, we felt the cabin was smaller than the pictures look. The pictures are creative realtor photos that use a wide angle lens or something to stretch out the size of rooms. We originally had 5 people booked in the cabin but only 3 ended up going. The cabin was perfect for 3 people, but we felt with 5 we would have been stepping on each other in the living room and kitchen. Also, the listing says it sleeps 6, which is true. But there is only dinner service for 4 and only 4 chairs for the dining table. If all 5 of us would have been there, there weren't enough plates for Thanksgiving Dinner and not enough chairs at the table. We ended up buying our own plates so we didn't have to run the dishwasher after every meal. Before booking, we had contacted the owner to ensure that the cabin had cable TV so we could watch the Thanksgiving Parade and NFL Football and network news. However, upon arrival, the cable TV was not working. The owner was quick to respond with possible ways to get these shows via the internet streaming, but nothing worked. We ended up buying our own FireStick so we could run an app that one of us subscribed to that gave us these shows.
The cabin is nice. Just understand it's not perfect.
This is the best cabin we have ever stayed in for well-equipped items throughout the house. The furnishings were high end and it felt comfortable. We were within 15-20 minutes of Maggie Valley, Wayesville and Lake Junaliska. Cherokee was approximately 30 minutes away. The driveway is a little steep at the beginning and has a good layer of gravel. I would think this would resolve over time with the new gravel as it gets used. The cabin and land surrounding were well cared for and quiet. Well paved roads take you up the mountain right to the driveway. We loved our stay and will definitely book it again in the future.
We really enjoyed staying at this cabin. It was very clean. The host was very helpful and responsive to any of our needs. The driveway is a little tricky but we made it just fine in our two wheel drive Suburban. We look forward to booking this cabin again in the future.
Enjoyed our stay in the beautiful fall weather. Cabin and community just what we were hoping for. Only issue was that the fire place in not operable. I wish that had been disclosed prior to check in, especially since it is readily visible in cabin photos.
We had a lovely stay! The house was clean and came with plenty of towels. The kitchen was well stocked- Publix and Ingles Supermarkets are also only about 10-15 minutes away for any supplies that were not provided. Loved the deck and the setting of the cabin!
This home is great, in good proximity to many attractions. The home is very comfortable. View of the stars at night was amazing.
Only downside, but for us it was a big frustration, is the state of the driveway as you pull in from the road. It’s been through a lot and needs care. Our Kia Sedona barely made it, so we had to calculate to only leave once a day to only have to return once. A four wheel drive vehicle probably would have had a better time. I hope it will be repaired for the future, because it really was the only down side.
