Joyce was wonderful with everything. I had a lot of last minute extensions to my stay and she was quick to reply to my requests. Property is very quiet and peaceful. Will stay here again if in town.
The house was absolutely beautiful and in a beautiful setting. Communication was prompt and extremely professional. The location is fantastic, especially given the close proximity to the local downtown area. Would absolutely recommend the property to others, 10/10.
Relaxing older home with updates. Loved the neighborhood and backyard. Played a lot of family games with our daughter and her spouse at the table and enjoyed watching football on the tv
All the basics are covered. Clean, convenient location. Comfortable beds.
Decor could be a bit cozier such as bath mats, maybe an area rug in living room, etc., directions for TV service. Didn’t seem to have cable.
Usually find hosts provide things like coffee filters & facial tissues, but those not at this location.
Outside could use some sprucing up, particularly since it’s on a dirt street.
Nice job of updating an old house, overall a decent property.

Lipstick on a crumbling pig
We felt misled by the previous reviews and the Premier Host designation. This home has cosmetic updates but the bones of the home left us in fear for our safety. First, we heard something running around in the ceiling. The floor is wildly uneven. The drawers in the bathroom fall out because they are just sitting in a hole- no track. This was reported in a previous review and claimed to be fixed. The furnishings are well worn and musty as previous reviews claimed. We bought our own pillows because the ones provided were lumpy or flat. My son had a difficult time entering the top bunk as he barely fit between the light on the ceiling and the opening at the top of the ladder. Most importantly, the furnace is RUSTED open and we feared it was leaking. We were having trouble with the thermostat. As the temperature outside dropped, the furnace quit running and the thermostat started blinking. We went to the cellar to investigate and found the pipe to vent to the outside was completely rusted through. There wasn't a CO detector and we are grateful to have escaped in time. We tried to contact the owner to send a repair tech or to move us to another property but were unable to reach her. Vrbo told us to self relocate and apply for a refund after they saw the evidence. The owner indicated that we had caused the damage but eventually refunded a portion of the money. We are still awaiting a response from Vrbo. Beware.

Disappointing
The house is old and smelly. Whoever renovated it did a very nice job with the kitchen and the bathrooms but the cabinets weren’t all clean in the kitchen and there were a lot of dirty pots, pans and small appliances. In the bathroom cabinets the drawers weren’t on the tracks so they either wanted to fall out or they couldn’t be opened. All the furniture, kitchen wares and towels were from Facebook marketplace, the Salvation Army or garage sales. The yard is not fenced and is a mess. Every time it rains mud and gravel run down the driveway and onto the porch, along with any trash blowing down the street. Most things were brought to the hosts attention and she did bring a few new items to the house. She’s a very nice person. The house is in a good location but not worth the price.
Our family really enjoyed our stay here. Great sized kitchen. The number of bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect for our group size. Lovely deck for relaxing in the mornings.
This is a wonderful rental near downtown. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful with a beautiful green space to walk along the river at the end of the street. It is close to downtown with cafes and shopping. It is also a good location for side trips into Detroit. The house had everything we needed and more. There is a great yard and back deck area to have meals in warm weather. The whole rental process was easy and the owner is very responsive. I would highly recommend this property and I would stay here again. Thank you!
This property is an older home that has been very nicely updated. We needed a place to stay near my sister in Rochester, and this house was perfect. Joyce was very easy to communicate with. I would definitely stay here again.
