Our one-bedroom guest house offers serenity and privacy on the Shawangunk Kill river, surrounded by the natural beauty of local farmland and "the Gunks" mountains. Step outside to soak in the tub, kayak, enjoy a bbq, or gather around the firepit. When the spirit of exploration calls you, it's only a short drive to hiking, biking, and world-class rock climbing, along with wineries, breweries, farms, orchards, cider mills, and many fine restaurants. A retreat for body, mind, and soul.

Needed rest and quiet away from the city! Not only was this the perfect location, but William is a fantastic host. Great communication before and after, from directions to access and operation with kindness and generosity of spirit. Will return!
My son and I stayed here for 2 nights and it was perfect for nearby hiking, dining and shopping/walking around New Paltz. The hosts were very accommodating and had great recommendations for everything local. My only complaint is not being able to stay longer, we plan to return!
The property was just as described. It does share the property with the owners house, but has plenty of privacy. The owner has everything needed for an awesome stay. Would stay there again!
The accommodations were great and the host communicated with us about everything we needed to know. We brought our dog and she loved the property. Would definitely come back.
My wife and I (and our cat and dog!) had a lovely time at this property. It was both secluded while also being just a very short drive to New Paltz and restaurants. The outdoor hot tub and fire pit were lovey. We were greeted with a bottle of local wine when we checked in which was a great touch. Highly recommend - we will definitely be back!
We had such a great stay over Thanksgiving weekend. The location was perfect and in proximity to various area attractions. The loft was a perfect size for our family and 2 small dogs. It was very clean and well-appointed. We used the hot tub everyday which was wonderful. We hiked Lake Minnewaska, visited Kingston, New Platz and tried multiple restaurants and breweries throughout the area. Being from the region originally, I can certainly say the area has grown into a hidden gem with so much to do. Highly recommend!
This was an absolutely amazing stay. My husband and I hand an amazing time with our two dogs celebrating our anniversary. We plan on returning again because we hand such a lovely time. We were greeted by our host who was so kind and helpful. All the recommendations were amazing and really helped us plan out our short time there. I wish we were able to stay longer but again we will be returning in the future!
My Husband and I had a lovely time here. It was even more special because we were able to bring our beloved dog who so enjoyed his morning walks visiting the cows across the street and playing in the yard. The property is absolutely beautiful, the Barn is immaculate, everything is new and clean. We just adored the decor, so cozy! The little touches were so appreciated as well, like stocked tea bags and K-cups, clean blankets, towels, park passes and tons of recommendations to near by activities. We wish we could have stayed longer. Would love to come back again soon!

One of the best stays I’ve had at a rental property! The place has everything you’d need to feel cozy and at home, including blankets, coffee, hot tub and more! Bill has gone the extra mile to provide for guests and he was attentive to all our needs. This is the place to stay!
We had a great time. Host was communicative and helpful, the house was clean and we had everything we needed. The only negative was that the pictures in the listing made it seem like this guest house was a little further from the main house than it actually is.
We had a great time staying in Gardiner, NY. The Red Barn Retreat was perfect! There are so many things to do near this location. We visited Hyde Park, had lunch at the Culinary Institute, hiked the Monhonk Preserve, explored Historic Huguenot Street, checked out New Paltz for the first time and did the Walkway Over the Hudson on the way home. I loved relaxing under the stars in the hot tub and just gazing out at the view. My spouse just asked me last night, "When are we going back?" Bill is a great host. Highly recommend!
Really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect for getting to hiking and biking sites. The town was cute with restaurants and farmers markets. Property was well maintained, comfortable and relaxing. Thank u.
This was an amazing weekend getaway. The host was so accommodating and easy to communicate with. The house was clean and had everything you needed, and more. We loved the hot tub and fire pit. Convenient location to hiking spots and wineries.
What a lovely place! Great host, such a beautiful property and a perfect getaway location. The house is just as he describes, and has put a lot of time and attention into the details.
The red barn retreat far exceeded our expectations. Bill has taken such care over this space, thinking of literally everything a guest might need (including a glorious hot tub overlooking snow covered fields and a stream), and is very kind/responsive. We felt totally secluded from the world but were still close to great restaurants (in Gardiner and New Paltz), museums, and hikes. Highly recommend to couples and small families looking for a getaway on the Hudson.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay in this property. Perfect for a little weekend away. Dog friendly, very clean and recently updated. Host was very accommodating and gave us great recommendations on hiking, restaurants, activities to do in the area. He had some guest passes we used to check out some beautiful parks & trails for free. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Plus it is dog friendly :)
We were looking for a place near by just to get away and recharge and Red Barn Retreat was our answer. Exactly as pictured, private, on a beautiful quiet country road, winery you can walk to, beautiful views, enjoyed the birds. We didn't want to leave but look forward to going back!
