A Great House to come Home to

House, 2 Bedrooms + pull out, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 3-6)

Ocala is a nature lover’s paradise! Get to know the “Old Florida" like a local. You'll find plenty to do in our neck of the woods: biking, hiking, sailing, canoe/kayaking, and don’t forget horseback riding. It is only about 1.5 hours from Disney World, Sea World and Daytona Beach.

The Ocala House offers free use of the (non-tipping) canoe and kayak. The remodeled house is a sweet and comfortable home. It is just a few minutes from the Silver River State Park, and on the edge of Ocala National Forest. The house is close to, shopping, good restaurants and entertainment of all kinds. The home is completely remodeled with the latest amenities. Recently we improved outdoor living areas with lots of shade and fans for reading or just enjoy the sway of the huge blue Bamboo growing in the backyard. It has a full kitchen and a very handy dishwasher. The house is cozy in just the right way. Its two suites feel large and separate. The living area is open and inviting. We invite you to Ocala and all it has to offer.

Just like home!

This property was so clean and comfortable, very well stocked for cooking. It truly felt like coming home, very relaxing backyard and plenty of inside space! Very quiet and clean for my infant daughter! We were a stones throw from Silver Springs state park and visited the campground which was even closer, great location!

Great Location in Urban Setting

A very nice house in a quiet neighborhood on a dead end street so modest traffic. During drive times the nearby street can be very noisy with traffic. Typical Ocala, during busy times of the day, traffic can be heavy very light rest of the day. Home is well equipped with everything normally needed. Host very accommodating, purchased a gas grill while we visited. Cons: the couch is a sleeper and not real comfortable unless you are very tall like long legs. Unless the foldout couch is used this house accommodates two adults. The trundle bed is designed for children, very short and difficult to negotiate upper bed. While the property description mentions fenced yard ,it is not enclosed. We only allowed our dogs outside when we were with them in the back decks and yard. They learned to stay with us. Ocala also has an excellent dog park at which Reggy and Laci as well as ourselves made many new friends. We enjoyed two wonderful months in Julie’s home and highly recommend a stay here. I

Cute eclectic bungalow-couple of glitches

First of all you can tell that the property owner put a lot of their personal items and touches in the property. It was my particular taste so I really liked all of the personal touches. The aesthetic was very artsy and I loved it. The appearance of the home was very nice. Unfortunately the beds were not very comfortable and neither was the couch. The location was good and that it was very close to the national forest but the neighborhood itself leaves a little bit to be desired. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need to prepare meals . My main complaint is that the toilet in the master bathroom was not working and after initially being very responsive when I first let the owner know about the issue, she then stopped responding to me and the toilet was never fixed. One of the reasons we chose this listing was because they were two full bathrooms. We also saw several roaches during our stay, and I understand that it’s Florida in the summertime… I’m from Florida. But still, with a baby in the house and a 4 year old it made me uncomfortable. Other than that the house was clean and it felt clean until I saw the bugs. Overall the stay was good, but there is room for improvement here. We ended up leaving a day early for a couple of reasons, one of them being that the sleeping arrangements were not ideal for us.

Lovely well equipped home

This home was a perfect place to stay for a long weekend exploring the Springs and bike trails. The entire home was renovated including both bathrooms and kitchen. The home was well equipped with anything you might need and more. Outside relaxing spaces were plentiful. The hostess was responsive and helpful. We enjoyed having the garage for our bikes and a pet friendly property. I thoroughly reccomend this Ocala home for comfort, cleanliness, and convenience.

Pretty little house near hiking

Julie was probably the most warm, welcoming, responsive host I have worked with. She answered all my questions, had travel advice, responded quickly during a storm. I hope she is a Super Host.

Perfect location!

This is a prime location and rental for exploring the rivers nearby. We were there to see the manatees in Silver Springs, and sure enough we saw adults and babies! Julie’s home has everything we needed and more. It’s in a quiet neighborhood, but 2 miles from the boat launch in one direction and very close to the Publix for supplies. The master shower is huge and plenty of hot water, the kitchen has everything, and the WiFi is strong. We will definitely return!

Wonderful home away from home stay!

This was our first experience using VRBO (Home Away). This house was a great first impression and worked perfectly for our 4 night stay. The home was nice, clean, and furnished with absolutely everything you could possibly need; and some things you didn't think you might need - like plastic wrap or tin foil. An added touch, was a case of bottled water left on the counter and even some cold in the fridge - this was a very nice touch especially for us travelers who don't know about the Florida heat and humidity. The home was located close to our family as well as close to shopping and restaraunts. An added bonus is the proximity to the State park where we could have used the kayak and canoe if we'd had more time. Julie, the owner, was very nice and easy to work with. She had everything organized and setup for our stay. We greatly appreciated the key box arrangement as it allowed us to not worry about the transfer of keys when we were running a couple hours late than our planned arrival time. When our travels call us back to Ocala, we will absolutely stay here again.

Very Nice House

I loved the house. It looks just like the pictures. It was clean and updated. The location was great. The house was very comfortable. I felt at home. I was able to bring my dogs and not have a pet fee. This was a big perk. I will definitely like to stay there again. The owner was also great. Thanks Julie!!!

Classy/hospitable owner and distinguishingly best value for the dollar accomodation.

The hotel business is in trouble if more investment property owners like this one deliver the same level of customer service and product value as what my family received during our stay. The owner was very hospitable and concerned that my family was satisfied. Where else are you going to get all this for the money? There is a convenience store 5 doors down which worked out great for last minute items needed to pack into our cooler before leaving to go tubing down 3 natural springs which were all within a short driving distance. The kitchen is clean, open and full of light, overlooking a generous sized back yard. The master bathroom has a large and easily to access shower, there are televisions with cable in the master bedroom and living room. Everything from floor to ceiling feels fresh and updated with everything from updated floors to recently textured walls and ceilings with updated lighting. You usually get what you pay for. This was the exception.

Great Place

I was in town for the Ocala sales and found this a great place to set up shop. The house was clean and perfectly sized for a couple (there was a small 2nd bedroom, too, if you have 3+). The neighborhood is safe and friendly, but not within walking distance of restaurants, etc., if that's important to you.

Ocala House

Very nice two bedroom, two bath house. House was very clean and welll appointed. Everything except your personal tolietries and clothing ws there. Not far from Silver Springs, which is a beautiful place and a shopping center. Several very good restaurants nearby. The only thing I found fault with was the German Shepard next door, that barked at everything

Winter Run Away From Home

The house is located in a working class community that felt very safe and is located just a short distance from grocery shopping and there are plenty of nearby restaurants. It has a garage which worked great for storing our bicycles. The canoe and kayak were used quite a bit on local rivers which were nothing short of beautiful. There is also a nature conservancy within walking distance and the hikes in this park were lovely. Ocala Golf Course is also nearby and the price is great and the play is at a reasonable pace. In addition, Baseline Golf is only about 6 miles away and this is a lovely executive level golf course and it was really pretty. The inside of the house was very well maintained, clean and very comfortable. The master bedroom and bath were wonderful but the second bedroom could use at least a double bed for guests. The kitchen was well appointed and it had most everything you might need for fixing meals. The caretaker, Tony, who lives across the street, took care of moving your garage cans to the street and cut the grass. In short, this house allowed us to have a wonderful stay in Ocala and we would highly recommend it to anyone.

Comfortable stay

My husband and I needed a place to stay in transition from moving from PA to FL and chose this home and glad we did. Pictures in ad were true to actual home--very clean and comfortable with nice updates. Julie was wonderful to talk to on the phone-- helpful and accommodating. Thank you Julie! Very near to all Ocala has to offer. Location was next to Silver Springs, Ocala State Forest, shopping, and nice restaurants. Travel west on Rt 200 for additional shopping at Paddock Mall and we love Sonny's Bbq, Cody's Roadhouse, and IHOP, Beef O Brady, and Stevie B's. Would definitely recommend!

Charming home!

This home was clean, neat, and well equipped. The owner was helpful and had someone nearby to help if there were any problems. (We had none.). The location was a bit of a surprise to us. We were expecting something more private, based on the pictures and description. The home is on a street with neighbors on each side and there is no privacy outside. We felt safe and had no problems with the neighbors, just were expecting something different. Overall our experience was great, and we would return!

Good stay

The house is just like the pictures . Brand new inside. It is a good location for Ocala within 5 mins of downtown Ocala and right around the corner from Silver Springs park. Many good golf courses within 20 miles. I would recommend to friends.

Why they chose this property

When I was a young girl growing up in Miami, at least once a year my parents would pack up the car, and we (mom, dad, older brother) would drive 6hrs up hwy 27 to Ocala to visit my Norwegian Grandmother and my Swedish Grandfather (better known as Hoppie). They had a really cool silver “Gulfstream” trailer. That is where they liked to visit when the Miami summer got too hot. They settled in the “Ocala National Forest”. My Grandmother and I use the take a long walk through the many trails that the park has to offer. She would tell me ghost stories about an abandoned house or a special tree. I would get so scared and excited. I always wanted to explore these places. I imagine she told me these stories to discourage me and my adventurous spirit. Well, it backed fired. The one thing that always quenched my adventurous spirit was to go to the “Juniper Springs” swimming hole in “The National Forests”. The whole family enjoyed it. We all went swimming in the clear cool water, took long walks down the wooded walkways, and cooked out making the perfect picnic. The park came out of President Roosevelt’s “New Deal”. It is an extremely special place. Years later after both of my Grandparents passed away I was lucky enough to get a permit and become an official photographer for the Park. Best job ever! Now, whenever my husband and I have free time we pack up the canoe and a picnic and have new adventures. There have been some great one
