Best suited for a shorter stay
We booked from February 17- April 5 at Vista Cay, a property where we had stayed before. Location-wise, this is perfect. There was construction messes on Universal for the new theme park going in across the street but we managed. The unit is gorgeous. Truly. It is beautifully decorated and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen, however, was not well stocked for people who would want to use it long term. We had to go out and buy a salad bowl and we used the dishwasher more often since there were few plates. Only three mis-matched wine glasses would have been a problem had we had more than three people. We spent a lot of time sitting on the lanai and the living room was more comfortable than most although my husband could not get comfortable.Vista Cay also has a pool that has been under reconstruction since last September. It was supposed to open at the beginning of March, then the middle and when we left it was mid April. No work seemed to be getting done so I suspect you will still have to trek to the other pool on the other side of Destination Parkway. It is not far but really did spoil some of the fun.We also had a drive by shooting on the 18th of March in the building across the parking lot from us at 4:45 am. Police swarmed the place but I am not sure if they ever solved it.Finally, as a Canadian, the whole business with Trump had us anxious and stressed. We vacated a week early. We just wanted to get across the border.
