We were in Yorktown to watch our son graduate from Coast Guard A school. This property was 5 minutes from the Coast Guard training center. The location is perfect in Yorktown's historical area and waterfront.
We really enjoyed our stay at Bobby’s place. He was super responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The only thing we didn’t like was that there were no curtains in the room with the twin bed. Other than that it was an amazing place
Great stay for my family, would rent again and inquire on full house rental next time for dining and kitchen access. Location is great, you can’t beat it. upstairs rooms were clean, futon and double bed in connected rooms worked well for two adults and two small children. Third single bed in separate room. Would rent again.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We rented for two days because my daughter got married down at the Freight Shed and we needed a place for 4 of us ladies to get ready! We had a hair lady a make up lady and the photographer and even the officiant stop by!! The rooms were perfect for moving around and the wonderful breeze coming in was just perfect. We never stayed the night so can’t rate the beds but the host was very nice and quick to respond! The home is old and a beautiful piece of Yorktown history. We were so glad it was close to the venue as we forgot the brides flowers and had to run back!! 😊 Thank you again!
I loved everything about this stay. It's decorated beautifully and very clean. The owner is really nice. (Met him) very close to everything in downtown Yorktown. Walking distance!

The rooms we rented were exactly what we were looking for and were true to their description. The home was immaculately clean. We were close to the activities we went to Yorktown to enjoy. The town, the home, and the host were all wonderful and the result was a fun and stress-free Patriotic Independence Day.
The place was very cozy and welcoming. It's on a nice quiet street. We stayed on the second floor and had access to a microwave and mini-fridge. We were within walking distance to Yorktown Beach and not too far from Busch Gardens so the location was perfect. Bobby was very welcoming and quick with responding to messages. I'd stay here again if we were to visit this area in the future.
We enjoyed our stay but we were worried about making noise because of the floor creaking. Also there wasn't any where to sit. Other tan that it was very nice.
The location was great. We enjoyed walking down to the Yorktown riverfront. The space was comfortable and more then adequate. We never met Robert but he responded to questions via text. There was a microwave and mini fridge, but no cups or eating utensils. We ended up buying some so we could have a light breakfast in the morning. So maybe this could be added to the description so folks know to bring their own. We had a nice stay.

The home was in excellent location on nice, quiet street with easy walk to eateries, etc. Host responded quickly and was pleasant to communicate with. Overall, conditions were as expected, however, seating on screened porch was uncomfortable (especially rickety pew & side chair) and lighting was limited in main bedroom & upstairs hall. Mini fridge was nice to have available. Great towels. Beds so-so. Would definitely stay there again, especially given limited choice of accommodations in Yorktown!
The property was very nice and in a great location, but we didn’t realize that the rooms were in an unsecured location. Rooms were accessed through the main house without a private entrance. Bathroom mirror was also so tall, you couldn’t see yourself in the mirror to get ready for the day. With that being said, it is a beautiful property with good email communication from the host. Recommend!
This is a charming old home in heart of historic Yorktown. We could walk to the battlefield, restaurants, the water, everything was very close. The host was friendly and the check in process was easy. My lack of the 5th star is two fold. One, we understood that it was not a full home rental but we were a bit surprised to walk directly into his personal home/space. The rental rooms are through the living area and upstairs to the three bedrooms and full bath. I thought it might have been a separate entrance that led directly to the second floor. My adult children were a bit uncomfortable with this but I assured them it was safe. Not an issue, just a surprise. The second concern was the downstairs AC broke the day of our arrival and was not repaired during our three nights. The host offered fans and the upstairs unit was trying to keep up with the demand, but it was quite warm during our stay. The heat wave did not help and the host kept the doors and windows open. We felt safe in the home and area but if privacy is a top priority, this may not be the rental for you.

Why they chose this property
My house is situated in the middle of the historic village of Yorktown. It's only a block and a half from the waterfront. The property is located next to 17th and 18th century houses and buildings.
