This is a newly built apartment, with a modern style and gracious hosts.
When we planned a long weekend trip to Mystic, we waited to look at the forecast, to make sure we could get there before the snow. We figured we could hunker down, play board games and watch the storm howl. We know Mystic well, so we knew the town would be dishing out hospitality as soon as it was possible.
We could not have chosen a nicer nest to ride out a storm which dropped a foot and a half of snow. With the gas fireplace turned up, we watched the snow fly, the wind howl, and, listened to the plows rumbling by. We had laid in plenty of hot chocolate mix and had a good stash of rum for spiking it. Add the gracious hostess gifts, including snacks, wine and instructions for managing the space, and we felt welcome and comfortable.
As soon as the snow stopped, there were our hosts, shovling out the three foot drifts from the deck and steps, and making sure we had a path out for the car. The plowing service showed up and we were good to go. Every question we had was answered promptly and cheerfuly.
The apartment is beautiful, and the kitchen is serious. With a ton of counterspace, a proper stove and oven and a full set of cooking tools, you can, and we did make full meals, bake cookies and broil flounder from the fish market 2 minutes away. The kitchen flows into the dining area and living room, making the space very social. A lot of places say "Chef's kitchen," This apartment delivers.
The appliances are top notch, and there's a generous supply of plates, silverware, and glasses. We were able to set a full table with ease, and the space makes an elegent setting for dinner as the snow blows by.
The internet was fast, there's a complete smart TV setup, with gorgeous TVs everywhere you look. The bathrooms are gleaming and the showers delightful. Good blinds allow sleeping in, and the enitre space is modern and well appointed.
The location is a short walk to town, and there are several food options literally out the door, including a first rate fishmarket. The local supermarket is 2 minutes away, and we got pick up from several of Mystic's top names with ease.
We'll be looking to book again. The space, and above all the hospitality made our long weekend delightful.
