I was very disappointed with my stay. I could not get any hot water in the shower and the water pressure was awful. The internet code is not listed in the property so you will have to get it before you arrive or you will not be able to go online. I could not receive texts, calls or email. I had to wait a couple of hours to get it. I only stayed one night and had to stay with family for the remainder of my stay as I could not shower.

Meh
I’d pay a little more to stay somewhere else next time. Location is decent, that’s about it for highlights.
Our stay was perfect. This cute studio has everything you need to enjoy your stay on the North Shore. There's a hot plate, blender, coffee maker, iron, microwave, and fridge. There was even a beach cooler in the closet that was super handy. Our nights here were so nice because everyone in the neighborhood is in bed around 8:30 so it's nice and quiet. Also it's off of the main road so there's no traffic noise. The location is great because you are so close to many of the north shore beaches and you can see so many stars at night. The hosts were very friendly and helpful when we were checking in. Overall our experience was excellent!

Living with the natives
Great location, walking distance to the beach . Just minutes away from the all popular surfing spots. Lush green neighborhood and backyard. Quiet neighborhood, with the windows open at night, I heard the roaring of the waves. I wished they had more kitchenware. The kitchen sink was in the bathroom . The host family was nice!
Great location to the beach. Provided bikes, beach chairs, towels & umbrella. Owner was very helpful with anything we needed. Accommodations were comfortable and fit our needs.
Positives: Wonderful location for access to area amenities. Very easy check in/out. Negatives: Broken shower head with weak water pressure and extended time for hot water to reach the shower. Children in residence on the level above the apartment ran around in the evening making a lot of footstep noise through to the ceiling on the apartment.

Disappointing
Clean, but amenities disappointing-no sink in kitchenette-had to wash dishes in bathroom, lighting poor overall, t.v. Small and not easy to watch from sitting on bed-a small sofa at end of bed would help. Owner was very nice and friendly.

good Location; close to the Beach; comes with parking slot; no real kitchen without oven & stove & pot .bed for two adults small; nice landlady; Apartment reflects typical hawaiian life
Loved my stay at Vanessa and Mikey’s property. Great location with an easy walk to Ted’s Bakery for breakfast and short drives to the Waimea Valley, Turtle Bay and the Banzai Pipeline. Super comfortable bed and very quiet. Highly recommend!
Overall the property was great for our 2 day stay! It’s a good location in the North Shore. Could have used some wash cloths and hand towels (only had bath towels provided)
Had a great stay at this property. Had all the necessary essentials, and was right down the road from the beach—could hear the ocean waves from the street. We were lucky to arrive the day the big surf competition (called the Eddie) occurred and the host was super accommodating with us parking there early to check out the surf show!
I enjoyed my stay here, there was a very nice friendly kitty which is always a plus in my book! Very close to the beach but it was a little unclear about which path to take. The bikes were a nice addition & we used them to get to the beach quick! Small studio, we just needed it to sleep/shower anyways so it was great for the two of us. Felt like a safe neighborhood. Don’t use the toaster oven….
We really enjoyed our stay at Vanessa's family home. The downstairs area had a bed, a restroom and sink, and a really large fridge. Most importantly , it was a great home base for me and my girlfriend on our North Shore surfing trip. The home is a short walk to v-land, so checking the surf out front takes only a few minutes. and if the vland lineup is too eggy for you, freddieland is a great spot for longboarders / beginner intermediates too.highly recommend this home for anyone on a surfing vacation especially, you can't do much better location-wise.

below our expectations. read to the end
the property description is right on the money. it's what's not in the description that is deceptive. communication was good except about 3 days before check in, i messaged a question that was never answered. the address is the same as the next house down. the refrigerator/freezer was filled with other people's leftover condiments. the freezer had some strange item that looked like 20 frozen bananas in a bag. the ice and water dispenser on the fridge were not working. the exterior and the seals of the refrigerator were filthy. the floor was clean but hard to keep clean because you must walk thru wet grass to get to the door. the bed was ok for us. it seamed to be clean. we were not interested in using the kitchen utensils, so we bought paper plates and plastic cups and silverware. the bathroom was clean. it just had alot of previous customers leftovers under the sink and counter. the wifi was fast but initially i could not find a matching name to what vanessa sent which is the same as what's on the fridge. when approached about this, she seamed not to care. we were pleasantly surprised that she gave us access to the washer and dryer. plenty of towels for showers and beachgoing. be prepared to endure endless jumping and noises from above until 10pm. resuming about 7:15am. almost like it's on purpose. the back sliding door does not lock. the air conditioner worked well but needed the vents cleaned. vanessa and mikey are very likable. i wish them the best in their endeavors!!!
Here to debunk all the bad reviews: For peace of mind, we brought bug traps I had on hand and checked them periodically throughout our 5 night stay to find not a single roach or spider. I also never saw bugs crawling around inside. The place was very clean and the bed was a full size but amazing. The A/C unit worked beautifully. They also had an oscillating fan! The shower head has a mind of its own but got easier to situate in place. The bikes were rusty but who really cares? they got us where we wanted to go after we gave the tires a quick pump with the provided pump. It’s hard to believe someone would call this neighborhood dingy. It’s an absolute dream. Quiet, beautiful, and in the best location. We parked on the side of the street in the grass which seemed fine. Rode bikes down to an empty beach every day and were in bed by 9pm watching tv most nights. The “noise” upstairs was close to none. They have young children and I wouldn’t have known if the owner didn’t tell me in passing conversation. Communication was great. We arrived around 11pm and had clear directions to the house.
The studio was the perfect base for exploring the stunning North Shore beaches and nearby attractions—its location was unbeatable. It provided everything we needed, including a clean space, AC unit, refrigerator, microwave, and parking spot. We felt secure with two locks on both the screen and main doors. The combination of a convenient location and reasonable price made it ideal for a full day of exploration, with a comfortable place to recharge during the day and rest at night. Would book again in a heartbeat!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Self check in and check out was convenient. The property is nestled in a quiet neighborhood, surrounded by lush greenery. At night its pitch black you can see all the stars. The location is unbeatable, 5min bike ride to Sunset Beach, which was convenient because of the bikes available to use. The studio itself was cute, perfectly fine for our short stay where we spent most of our time outside. The place was clean and the furniture has been updated since some of the other reviews. We didn’t notice any bugs either. It is a studio underneath the main house, but there was no one staying upstairs at the time of our stay, so we cant comment on that.
Vanessa and her lovely family were very welcoming and helpful with suggestions of things to do. I loved having use of the bike for the short trek to Sunset Beach.
The space was perfect for what i was looking f for
