No Drinking Water In Pinecone Paradise!

We loved the pretty, quiet location, the dock to Berry Pond, access to row boat, canoe and kayaks, the loons on the lake (there were five), the bald eagle that roosted in a tree by the dock, the merlin (falcon) that visited, the beautiful lake vegetation, the games provided, kitchen was well stocked and bedrooms were comfy. Just be aware that this property does not have potable water from the tap. Make sure that Vacasa has provided water canisters for water cooler in kitchen. There was only one empty bottle when we arrived late in the day with our kids and grandkids. Finally after three phone calls to Vacasa over two days, a delivery of water was made. Homeowner has lots of info in welcome book about places to hike, things to do and restaurants to go to. Very helpful. We did the fire tower hike which was an easy to moderate hike and beautiful view from the tower. The weather was a little rainy, cool and cloudy but we tried to make the best of it. This is not a young children friendly home as the deck has two sets of staircases (one on either side) and large gaps in railings. Also...there aren't any life jackets for the 3 year old or the 15 month old so we could not take them in the boats. Further, there is no "beach" to speak of which would have made swimming with little ones easier. We did however, appreciate that included was a packn'play for the baby to sleep in.

Quiet & Relaxing

Camp was exceptionally clean and new. Good fishing on this quiet pond. Keeping enough bottled drinking water was a challenge for the six of us. Overall a great stay.

Adorable Cabin

We had a very enjoyable time at the Pinecone. The cabin was impeccable and decorated very nicely. The AC worked well and kept it cool even though the weather was very hot. The screened in porch was great!! Such a nice place to sit and relax in the mornings and evenings with no bugs. We enjoyed all the water sports (kayaking, rowing, canoeing). We were surprised at how far the water and dock were from the cabin; from the online pictures, they appear much closer. But overall, a great place to stay!

What an amazing spot!

Had a great time at the Pinecone! Nice little cabin, very clean and well maintained inside and out. Awesome little dock with a swimming platform not too far out. Had lots of fun kayaking and canoeing. Really good fishing for large mouth and small mouth bass and big pickerel. The fire pit and backyard are great to. Located in a quiet area but close enough to groceries, restaurants, and essentials. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a nice quiet getaway. Will be back.

Lovely Cabin

The cabin itself was very clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a peaceful getaway. We had a wonderful time swimming, kayaking, and sitting around by the fire. The sunset view is amazing and the area is relatively secluded. However there are neighbors in somewhat close proximity on either side. Everyone we met was very polite and friendly though! With that being said, our only minor inconvenience involved a few off-leash dogs that would wander into our yard. Our dog isn’t the biggest fan of new dogs so it meant that he didn’t get to enjoy the space as much as we had hoped. Otherwise it was a perfect spot and we hope to return!

Little slice of heaven

We stayed at The Pinecone for a week and it was wonderful! Two adults, an 11 year old & an 8 year old. The dock was great for fishing, swimming or just enjoying the view. We used the kayaks that were provided to go fishing daily. The house was quaint and clean with everything we could need. It’s a very quiet area and extremely serene. Sitting on the screened in porch in the morning was one of our favorite things to do while having our coffee. Would highly recommend this house & wouldn’t hesitate booking again.

Cute Cabin

The cabin is cute and cozy. It had everything we needed. I am from the area and chose based on location and it is pretty close to everything you need in Winthrop. Taking the kayaks or boats out was my favorite. I would rent again.

Nice stay in New England

The Pinecone is a well appointed Maine Camp with a beautiful water view. Loved watching the stars! We stayed for 4 nights and visited Booth Bay and Bar Harbor on day trips. Would highly recommend as a place to stay & relax. Make sure you get there during the daylight, roads are tricky at night.

Perfect stay at the lake

We enjoyed about everything about our stay. The house was welcoming, and included all we could need. The house was clean and all devices - in working condition. The lake is stunningly pretty with sunsets we have never seen before. Would definitely come back. Thank you!

Fun in Vacationland

Our only complaint is we couldn’t stay longer! We had the best time! There is so much to do with the row boat and kayaks and canoe! The loons and lightning bugs were amazing. Fire pit was perfect and the deck and view from the dock was gorgeous! Our 5 kids ages 9-17 all didn’t want to leave! Thank you for sharing your little piece of Vacationland with us!

Perfect Weekend Get Away

My husband, son and I had a great weekend at the Pinecone cottage. It had everything we needed to relax and unwind. The private dock, canoe, kayaks and small row boat were awesome! The guys were very successful catching bass, perch and pike. The sights and sounds of nature all around us were so peaceful. We enjoyed hanging out on the brand new deck and watching the gorgeous sunsets! Would definitely recommend staying at the Pinecone cottage.

We stayed 8 nights with seven people and had a blast!! This litte cabin is so fun and the owner reall think of the little touches to help those traveling from out of state. The water toys (kayaks, row boat, canoe) are amazing. We went out mearly everyday we stayed and swam and played. There`s plenty of seating and a fire pit outside. We looked forward to morning coffee on the deck every morning. The loft was perfect for kids to stay in with adults in the two bedrooms. Thank you for letting us stay and enjoy your awesome cabin in Maine. The location and lot were great. The house was super clean and well stocked. The rooms are all private and well appointed. The dock and boating supplies were a bonus. The fishing was super!! We got a few cloudy days which made great sunsets but limited the stargazing. I would recommend staying here to all my family and friends. Thanks again. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.`

Our family stayed at the Pinecone in October this year. We were the first family to rent the cabin out from the new owners. The foliage was fantastic. The lake was very tranquil and quiet, save the pair of loons that make the pond their home, and the cabin was exeptionally clean and well appointed. We enjoyed sunsets on the lakeside deck every evening! As quiet and secluded as the cabin is, it is only a 10 minute drive to either Wayne or Winthrop center and 25 minutes to the capital, Augusta. We cannot wait to return next year! This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.`
