Was a nice secluded weekend getaway.

Quiet secluded neighborhood. Fun weekend. Slow internet and cable was disconnected for most of the stay. No shower only bathtub. Otherwise a perfect little cabin.

Loved this unique property with modern amenities!

The enclosed porch was such a wonderful place to sip our morning coffee and we really enjoyed the stove fireplace. Internet was pretty spotty (as it is in most mountain cabins) so be prepared to bring your own dvds or downloads if you want to unwind that way.

Overall it was a great place to stay. We did not realize the bedroom and bath were upstairs. Made it tough on my wife’s bad back.

About the host

I grew up in South Mississippi and have been visiting the Smoky mountains since I was a boy. Many years ago, my wife and I purchased a rundown cabin nearby and remodeled it into a vacation home. I now reside in it full time. We later bought additional acreage next door and put in roads, water, power as well as two additional cabins, so friends and family could enjoy the mountains as we did. The Cabins at Long Branch are the results. There are now four cabins on a forty-acre tract. We hope you enjoy the area as much as we have. We promise to make your trip easy and fun.

Why they chose this property

This is our personal cabin that we have remodeled three times since 1998 and have upgraded with a lot of personal touches. The cabin is modern, yet cozy, secluded, yet close to a lot of fun things to do. We began allowing guests in 2021.
Nantahala has snowy winters, cool summers, beautiful spring flowers and strikingly colorful fall leaves. Plus, there are waterfalls, hiking trails, trout streams, mountain vistas and a lot of fun things to do just minutes away.
Nantahala is not over developed with souvenir stands, tourist stops and traffic signals. It is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature. Quaint mountain towns, a short drive away, offer food and drink, while a day trip will take you to Ashville, Gatlinburg or the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. A visit to these attractions makes coming home to your own mountain cabin all the more wonderful.

What makes this property unique

The cabin property is continually washed in the soothing sounds of rushing water generated by White Oak Creek, just across the road. A small branch trickles down the mountainside and through the front yard. This is an authentic mountain cabin that has been upgraded to include central heat and air, high-speed, dependable, fiber, internet, Wi-Fi, a smart TV, a modern kitchen and all the conveniences of home. We know that you will like it.
