Wonderful close proximity to ski slopes downtown and my friends. Very well equipped home especially the kitchen and bathroom. The games were great to have as well. Nice touch with the cookies.
This week's stay was the happy result of a last minute reservation.
The apartment was a quiet and cozy, a ground floor apartment in the host's home. There was a separate electronically keyed entrance which allowed for unlimited coming and going. The gracious host met me at arrival and departure, supplied fresh milk in the fridge and a plate of ginger cookies, and left a number where I could text if there were any issues during the week. (There weren't.) All texts before the trip were answered promptly.
In the bedroom, the brass-framed bed was very, very comfortable and both side tables had lighting and multiple outlets for charging devices. There was also a computer desk and comfy chair. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances, pots and pans, dish-ware. The hostess even left a carton of milk in the refrigerator and some gingersnap cookies as a welcome. There was also access to a washer and dryer.
The neighborhood was quiet with on-street parking directly in front of the house. The space was available no matter what time I got back each evening, I felt safe in the neighborhood at all hours.
The hostess was most gracious, meeting me at arrival and when I left.
Mary Ellen and John left us cookies and milk for check in! It was like being at an Aunt’s house.
The stay began with clear communication from the host about where to park and how to get inside. The yard and garden are a treat, and the house is even cuter in person!
The bed was pillow soft and dreamy; there was everything we needed (including scissors to wrap a gift!) and it was clean and comfortable. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Thank you so much for your hospitality!
This is a cozy basement apartment with a peaceful garden and close to the University of Utah. For the two of us it was just the right size, clean, lots of privacy, a comfortable bed, living room and kitchen. Museums and the Family Search Center are all within a few miles distance. Easy to get to by public transit or car. We enjoyed the nearby parks and just exploring the wonderful neighborhood.
The bus and tram system is an excellent way to get around town. There are bus stops just in front of the house. The transit app on my phone made it easy to buy tickets and estimate time of arrival..
Our hosts were wonderful to us and one of our favorite memories is visiting with them and their family. I hope we can go back again some time.
Everything was super. Host Mary Ellen was lovely. We had cookies upin ur arrival and she was very responsive to our requests. I would definitely stay again.
This was such a great location, close to Sugarhouse, Trolley Square, and 9th and 9th. I travelled with my cousin and my thirteen year old son and this was a quiet location and the owner had a trampoline. My son was over the moon and opted to jump on the trampoline most of the time! The amenities were all we needed, and our host was gracious and we had delicious cookies waiting for us. This was a perfect stay for us.
So happy I booked this place. Very comfortable, spacious and clean, and the price is right. I was here to see my daughter graduate from The U, and the location was perfect! Hosts are wonderful. I would book again, if I am ever back in town…
This is a great little basement apartment in the University of Utah area. It was close to the University where my husband could attend his conference. It was comfortable and great for the two of us.
centrally located and an overall exceptional accommodation. deer birds and flowers in yard with a nice patio swing to relax after a full day at nearby aviary. would recommend to friends and family
A wonderful place to stay! Felt like staying with extended family. Easy to get to University of Utah. Wonderful walks in the beautiful neighborhood of Yalecrest. Loved shopping and dining at 9th and 9th! Terrific hosts!
Nuce place, nice neighborhood. The only thing was the noise from upstairs people when we were trying to sleep. The floor made loud creaking noises above our bed.
I enjoyed my stay at SLC! this apartment was very reasonably priced and in location that was perfect for the purpose of my trip - skating at Adult Nationals which took place at the ice rink of U of U Sports Complex.

Salt Lake City has been the home of my family for generations. I am a retired tour operator of North American historical sites, and a founder of the Utah Tour Guide Association. I currently work as a professional local city guide, and I have served as a docent in the Utah State Capitol, the Governor's Mansion, Historic City Hall, the Family History Library, and the Beehive House (city founder Brigham Young's residence.) I have been featured in several documentaries, the most recent of which was "Brigham Street" produced by the U of U's TV station KUED for PBS. My husband, John, and I have been married for over fifty years. We have 7 children and 24 grandchildren. I am an avid genealogist, historian, pianist, organist, love cooking, and in years past loved skiing. I am a cancer and open-heart surgery survivor thanks to the marvelous medical facilities, physicians and caregivers in Salt Lake City. I love meeting the wonderful people from all over the world who come and stay with us in our garden apartment. Life is sweet!

We are within a 30 minute drive of several world-class ski resorts. and the gateway to 7 National Parks. We have free parking for 2 cars. There are many excellent restaurants and shopping areas nearby. The Olympic Stadium at the University of Utah is within walking distance, and there is a public transit stop within a 2 minute walk.
What makes this property unique
Across the street is a tennis court maintained by the high school and is available much of the time. Within walking distance is the Salt Lake Sports Complex, which offers an excercise facility, Ice skating sheet, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, instructors and many insurance policies provide free admission. There is a bus stop in front of our house that makes a short run to the University of Utah campus and the large complex of hospitals connected to the campus. One can also transfer to a ski resort bus of choice, which is the preferred way to avoid traffic to the resorts. Take the bus the other way from our house to downtown city center and a connection to the Frontrunner train which services 4 counties along the Wasatch Front from Ogden to Provo and including transit to Brigham Young University.
