About this property

Our cute and cozy guest house is now available for vacation rentals. The property is located on a wooded hilltop overlooking Wimberley with stunning views of the valley. It is the perfect location for those looking for a quiet place to stay while in the area for shopping or special events. It is only minutes away from the Wimberley Square.

There are two separate guest areas located in the same building. The downstairs has a private bedroom, fully equipped kitchen, full bath, king bed and sleeper sofa in the living area.

The upstairs has a large open area, queen bed, 2 bunk beds and sleeper sofa. There is a kitchenette with sink, microwave oven and refrigerator. It has a large bath with shower. Keurig coffee makers are included in both units along with the pods.

To be clear, you would be renting the entire house, not just one level. We don't ever rent the levels separately. Access to the upper level is by the outside stairs on the side of the house.

We have DISH Satellite service and there are large flat panel TVs on both levels with Netflix available downstairs. We also have free Wi-Fi service.

There is a large stone patio with hot tub and Weber charcoal grill. We also feature a swimming pool just off the patio that is fully surrounded by a wooden deck. There is an outdoor shower next to the hot tub.

A walking trail begins near the patio and winds past a sitting area, on past the tree house and ends at another sitting are on the opposite side.

People come to Wimberley from all over the country to enjoy the quaint village, shop at the Wimberley Market Days or for weddings and other special events. Our Buttercup guest house is the perfect spot to spend the night, rest and relax before or after your activities.

Buttercup is situated on a high hill overlooking the Wimberley Valley. We have 5 wooded acres. There is a main house and guest house located on the property. Guests have exclusive use of the patio, hot tub and swimming pool during their stay.

Amazing property

The property was amazing. Pool, hot tub, beautiful vistas, clean cozy rooms. Lots of bedding available. Pet Friendly. Super close to all the wimberley attractions. Would definitely stay here again.

Great spot!

This is a great spot! Close to town, beautiful view. The owner was very kind and had a few snacks that came in handy. We loved having separate rooms with separate bathrooms it was like two apartments. (Beds were comfy AC works great) We would definitely book this again!

Beautiful property and relaxed in the pool and hot tub

Great location with beautiful views and great accommodations. There was a family of deer seen almost daily and a fox which seemed like a friend of the deer. Good place to unwind and relax.

Pool & deck make this property!

The downstairs has plenty of room for a couple. The upstairs is not fancy but just right for needing sleeping space for more to be able to stay here and enjoy this pool & view. The pool is big and well maintained. Hosts very nice and friendly.

Peaceful

If you are looking for a clean, secluded and relaxing place to stay then look no further. This place has everything you need for a wonderful quiet, enjoying wildlife and swimming. The main house is very close to the guesthouse, but there was no traffic and we never saw anyone there, but once, so private but… As far as we could tell It was😊 and if you’re wondering if it’s nice and cool, it is very very comfortable. The beds are very comfortable and everything was spotless.

Buttercup

We had a very great stay! We spent 4 days in Wimberley and this spot was perfect. It had beautiful views (we got to see deer, other wildlife) and the pool and hot tub were a great touch. The home itself was a very clean and had everything we needed for our 4 day stay (utensils, towels, coffee machine) It was also a perfect drive for everything we wanted to do nearby. We would definitely recommend this home for a Wimberly trip! Marylyn was a responsive host for everything we needed and questions we had before our drive up.

Wonderful Wimberley

Exceeded expectations. We loved the location at top of hill and the walks around the place past the lemon tree to the treehouse. The guest house had all we needed and easy to slide into and relax. Hot tub was well used by the adults as was the pool although water a tad cold but ok once in! Finally the views over the hill country real pleasing on the eyes.

Great weekend

My second time staying here it’s amazing helps you forget about everything and just relax. The pool was great as the jacuzzi. The beds were clean and very cozy really easy to fall asleep in. We had everything we needed from plates, silverware, iron, extra blankets and plenty of space to sleep in. I recommend this place to everyone that would love to spend a nice relaxing time with family or spouse. Thank you for allowing us to stay

We can’t wait to stay again

What a perfect place for two couples. The upstairs / downstairs provides togetherness, but privacy also. The pool was clean, refreshing, and crystal clear. The kitchen was well stocked and we loved having a refrigerator upstairs too. The full size coffee maker was appreciated in the mornings. The location is quiet and remote, yet just a few minutes to town. Super comfortable bed. We loved our stay and can’t wait to go back.

Weekend getaway

This was the perfect spot to get away from our busy work life in Houston. The cottage was just what we were looking for; private with a hot tub, cozy & close to town. Marilyn & Darwin were great hosts; cottage had everything you would want for a weekend. Loved all the extra towels, basic kitchen items (except for a pizza pan but we figured that out 🤣), even had the same shampoo & conditioner I use! Absolutely loved how eco friendly the cottage/main house were from the rain catching system (main house 👍🏼) to the recycling can on cottage porch. (I have been known to bring our recycling home from weekends away. 🤣)Would love to come back when it’s warm enough to enjoy the pool!

We stayed for a girls get away. The property is very quite, beautiful hilltop view, just a short drive to dripping springs and wimberley. Hosts we're very accommodating! I would highly recommend staying here.

Our stay

To all the people reading the reviews, this place was peaceful, relaxing, we enjoyed every moment. My family and I always carry extra kitchen utensils, pans shampoo, but this house has almost everything you could need. The pool was just amazing, my family had such a great time. Will be recommending and hope to come next year.

After living in downtown Houston for several years we began visiting friends who had retired and built a new home in Wimberley. We fell in love with the area and the gorgeous views. As fate would have it, the property next door to our friends became available and we bought it. Since there was an existing guest house on the property we decided to share our little piece of heaven with other folks.

We love the privacy and seclusion but we are only 5 minutes from the Wimberley Square. Our guests love the beautiful patio, hot tub and swimming pool. Some folks have outside activities planned and others choose to just enjoy the quiet and beautiful surroundings at Buttercup.
