About the host
Hosted by Bertrand Rassool

I am a semi-retired diplomat, my last posting having been as Ambassador of Seychelles in London from 1999-2004.
I am an economist by profession with a Bsc Hons. Degree from the London School of Economics in 1982.
My wife Estelle and I have been married for 43 years and we have twin daughters Pasquale and Emmanuelle and a son Dominic. They all live abroad; Emmanuelle in France, Pasquale and Dominic in England. We have five grandchildren.
We are both Seychellois of mixed descent. I also have Mauritian nationality.
We have a pied-a-terre in Mauritius and we enjoy visiting Mauritius at least a couple of times a year.
I am very much a people person and I was exposed to interacting with visitors from an early age since my parents were among the first to have a small hotel after the opening of the international airport in 1971. The establishment called Hotel Bel Air is still very popular with visitors and is run by my brother Roland.
I enjoy meeting people but I fully respect the privacy of my guests. I am however happy to share my local knowledge and network with my guests whether it has to do with tips for places to visit, restaurants or shopping. I want my guests to have a genuine Seychelles experience and to enjoy their stay to the maximum.

Why they chose this property
Villa Mille Soleils is located next door to our home at Souvenir, La Misere. It is a fully fenced property offering our guests total privacy as well as security. Our guests can sleep with their windows open if they so wish.
Villa Mille Soleils is centrally located and allows our guests quick access to all parts of the island. The main town of Victoria is a 12 minute drive while the International Airport is only 15 minutes away.
Almost all our guests find it convenient to rent a car and we recommend our partner car rental company Compass Car Hire which offers excellent service and value for money.
Our self-catering villa is very well equipped: we have a modern kitchen with a fridge/freezer, gas hob, electric oven, microwave and all key kitchen appliances and accessories. Laundry facilities include a washing machine, clothes horse, iron and ironing board.
We also have high speed internet and a flat screen TV.
Our veranda and terrace offers our guests the opportunity of doing barbecues using the Weber Classic grill while enjoying sundowners with amazing views of the west coast and the ocean.
We have a large garden all around our villa which is beautifully landscaped with tropical plants and fruit trees. Our guests are welcome to help themselves to the fruits from the garden when in season.
