Very comfortable beds! This property is what you would expect from a cottage in Vermont, but there's so much more! We were surprised by the very well equipped kitchen and the vicinity to Woodford State Park also worked out really well for us. Would definitely recommend!
Just what we needed, beautifull area, close to water and woodford state park, house came well stocked with everything you need, would definitely recommend to anyone , would stay there again.
The cabin was very clean and quite cozy. Beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed. Hiked, enjoyed water, played games and took trips to town and state park. Loved the cool weather; fire pit worked great.
Comfortable beds, full kitchen. Cheery atmosphere. Great WiFi.
Front door, very swollen from humidity, took some effort to open and close. Clothes storage in bedrooms lacking.
This is a quaint, rustic cabin in a lakeside community without paved roads (the cabin is a short distance from the lake). The cabin was very clean and up to date, although the carpet was a bit "crunchy." Since the host asks that shoes be removed at the doorway, I would be sure to bring slippers if we stay here again.
Communication with the host is via VRBO portal only, which is disconcerting if there is an emergency, but the host responded promptly when we had an issue at check in. A blown circuit meant that the heater had not been working for some time and the cabin was close to ambient temperature (50s) when we arrived. The wood for the wood stove is stored outside under a tarp which had blown away in the rain, so there was no usable wood. The owner had two space heaters handy, though, so the night wasn't miserable. We fixed the heater the next day. Overall, a very serviceable place to crash while visiting family in the area. And huge appreciation to the host for having the foresight to stock heaters!
Stayed Fri - Mon over Columbus Day weekend - overall the cabin itself was very nice. Clean, cozy and all the amenities listed. Some things to note:
-There’s no dishwasher so bring paper plates and bowls to make life easier!
-There’s a washer dryer combo in the kitchen but only the dryer is available for use
-The front door is tricky with the lock but you’ll quickly get the hang of it
-The shower is also tricky at first but you’ll also get the hang of that!
-Not really any closet or drawer space for storing clothes in the bedrooms.
-Neighborhood is nice but you are across from a house that apparently had a lot of dogs! Luckily you can’t hear them from inside!
-Not as close to Bennington as I had thought but still an easy ride - not much locally in terms of restaurants and stores once out of Bennington so you may want to stick up before arriving.
Overall the cabin was very relaxing, very cute and very clean. We all slept very well. Loved the wood stove. Also the smart tv was a bonus in the living room. We did not use the fire pit. The owner was very responsive. Despite the minor inconveniences would recommend staying here especially for the price and proximity to NY.
Our family loved staying at this cozy cottage. We skiied at mount snow two days and it was perfect. Curtis was very responsive and a great host. Will definitely be back!!
The house was extremely clean, cozy and economical. It is about 34 minutes from Mount Snow Skiing.
Yes, the house sleeps 7 people (which it indeed states in the description), but in the living room there is 1 couch that can fit 2 people and 2 comfortable chairs for 2 people. In addition, there is a dining table with 6 chairs which fits 6 people. The house was perfect for my crowd of 7 that skied most of the time and was exhausted for the rest of the trip.
Curtis was very kind and helpful through out the whole trip. Thank you , Curtis!
Husband, dad, and VRBO host. Marketing professional from Connecticut looking forward to your stay. World traveler that speaks English and Spanish. All are welcomed at Woodford Cottage.
