Mira Cottage is located on the Mira River, a quiet river seascape. The next town is Marion Bridge with a gas station, a convenience store, and the post office and can be reached in 5 minutes. The closest city is Sydney with an old town centre, shopping malls, restaurants, movie theatres, a harbour, and the hospital and it is only 15 minutes away.

Many vacationers are more than impressed by the beauty of Cape Breton, the tranquillity it radiates, the outstanding recreational value and the very relaxed way of life here on the island.

>>!! IMPORTANT!!!>> Mira Cottage is the perfect vacation home for two people. The first floor has everything you need to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Mira River. The attached gazebo provides a comfortable space to enjoy breakfast, read a book, or watch the sunset over Juniper Mountain.

By booking for 3 to 4 persons the cottage includes a walk-out basement which provides a second bedroom with two queen size beds, its own bathroom and direct access to the ground floor deck.

A beautiful restful cottage

Bridget's cottage is delightful and spotlessly clean and very private. Beautifully and charmingly decorated, the cottage had plenty of space and is thoughtfully equipped with everything you could need. A lovely screened-in porch is the ideal place to relax.

Perfect spot

This place is a gem. A short drive from Sydney it was the perfect location. Very peaceful and relaxing. The property exceeded our expectations. We will be back, very clean the kitchen is well equipped for us to cook some great food. Thanks to Bridget perfect host.

Lovely property

Lovely, secluded cottage just steps from the river and in the midst of nature. Very thoughtful and comfortable accommodation. Went to bed every night listening to the loons on the river, and woke up to the sound of hermit thrushes.

A Great Find

Most impressive property for cleanliness, amenities, decor, storage, air conditioning, quality of appliances and cooking utensils, linens. There are several decks and a gazebo where you can read or just enjoy the views. The hosts were welcoming and very organized. Directions to the place were very clear. We felt very at home.

Fabulous place!

From the warm and friendly welcome from Bridget to the comfortable beds to the well-appointed home overall, everything about Mira Cottage made our family feel great! A truly peaceful setting, this property has everything you could ever want and need for a getaway from all the hustle and bustle of life. Bridget showed us around this recently built vacation home with a beautiful smile on her face throughout. We settled in quickly with our bedroom on the main floor with a bath and our son had the downstairs with his own bath. We slept great and enjoyed mornings on the nearby dock and the deck. Everything is brand new and we enjoyed our stay immensely. It was the perfect homebase for our exploration of Cape Breton Island and we wouldn't hesitate to visit again! Thank you, Bridget for our welcome gift and for providing a place to lay our heads and hearts during our truly memorable vacation for our family.
