Please be aware there are people above this property that are very loud and very active at 1-2am. The noise level can make it difficult to sleep, and I ended up leaving a day early. This is no fault of the owner, but certainly something to be aware of. The backyard is beautiful and great for dogs if you are traveling with one. I was sent the wrong check in code and WiFi information, which the owner fixed when I called at arrival.
My family and I came to Charleston, WV for our first time. We arrived at night and found our house easily although not used to the winding roads or area. We had clear directions for letting ourselves in and settling in right away. The location was quick and accessible to and from Charleston which we traveled to and from each day and sometimes multiple times. We enjoyed deer in our back yard, a friendly dog next door, and being tucked in a hill. Michael was a responsive host at the time of our considering booking to booking and throughout our visit. Although we never met him in person he had a warm, calm demeanor in every interaction. He aways answered my questions and provided any basic supplies at our requests. We would stay here again and recommend this unit.

Disappointed
Description said 2 bathrooms but there was only one bathroom. Some difficulty with the terrain (hilly) getting into the apartment. Very little counter space in the kitchen which lacked some of the usual staples found in kitchens. In short, it was not a place where we wanted to spend time. It was a disappointment.
This was a cool property on a mountain overlooking Charleston, so some twists and turns to get there but only about 5 minutes. The apartment is the basement of a house and very well done, everything is brand new. Our dogs did well here. The yard is large but unfenced, which was fine. It seems deer spend the night in the yard- we looked out one night and there were about 8 deer in the yard sort of evenly spaced. They watched us and we watched them and it was sort of magical! Park at the detached garage to avoid the steep concrete steps from the road. Host was terrific!! Thanks!
Loved the location!! The deer come visit every morning and evening. We had dinner with the owner Michael, what a wonderful host!! We look forward to visiting again soon!
The host was very nice and available at all times. The original accommodation had to be changed due to previous guest. Then, we received an upgrade to a big historic home a few houses down from the state Capitol Complex. It was wonderful.
Conveniently located with easy access to downtown Charleston and 8-10 mins. from best grocer in town, a Kroger's. Narrow street but within quick reach of trails and park-like back yard make up for impeded neighborhood hikes. Master b.r. well furnished and second is adequate size with aging but comfortable mattress. Kitchen well equipped and bathroom is five star. Exceptional follow up and attention by Michael, property manager.
The location and neighborhood is quiet and cozy. The deer visit in the yard each evening! The owner, Michael, was super nice and responded immediately! He was quick to help with any questions or concerns I had! This place is also under 10 minutes from Downtown!
Nice little place to stay in a safe and quiet neighborhood. Enjoyed sitting out on the patio in the evenings watching the deer roam around.
