It is exactly as David says. Its 100 years old and extremely rustic. Bed is comfortable. David checked in on us frequently and was responsive almost immediately with any questions I had. Thank you David, for welcoming us into your family. ❤️
I was looking for a place to reconnect with nature that was halfway between Yosemite and Kings Canyon NPs. This was the perfect place for me to be! As advertised, this is a cabin in the woods with all of the creatures that come with that locale. The property owner met me to make sure that I found the cabin with the parking location. He then walked me around the entire place to show me everything. This is the perfect place to reconnect with nature and yourself with no outside distractions.
We had the best time ever. Dave the owner went out of his way to check in with us and tell us about the hidden gems to go check out. My son is 2 years old and he got to see his fish live fish that picture of him see it for the first time I'm going to frame it. Many thanks to Dave the owner.
My family stayed for a week and had a great time. Dave was very helpful and gave us all the information about the area, points of interest, restaurants and nice hikes. We will definitely be visiting again soon thanks Dave.
If you're looking for a true mountain/cabin experience that helps you disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with nature, this is it. Stayed here for 3 nights with my family of 4 (2 kids under 6). Kids loved it. Nothing fancy here, but feels like a step back in time. We had fun working the wood fire. Drove up to China Peak each day for some skiing, then came back to a cozy fire and grilled some food and played games. FYI we had no cell reception the whole time so felt like true disconnection. The upstairs loft is a little dicey coming down, kids were only comfortable in the bedroom. Great place and great host.
We had a wonderful time at this rustic cabin as a meetup with our college daughter. The cabin cozy and quiet. The host was super great, helpful, honest and accomodating.
The woodburning stove was charming and kept us warm. The kitchen and bath are perfectly useful and clean. Bed was comfortable and bedding all clean. The loft is basic but nice to have place for the teenagers to hole up.
I did not realize how close the fire was, It's sad but we enjoyed seeing how the new growth is already starting. That's the reason I gave the location a 3. It's fine, but definitely the area has suffered.
Just know that this is an old beloved family cabin, not a luxury rental, and you will enjoy a peaceful stay in the mountains. Be sure and find the trail to Potholes, it's a gem.
We enjoyed our stay! My kids loved the loft and the nearby play ground. David was very attentive and anticipated our needs. We will definitely stay again.
