We had no idea this property was located in a Brownstone. The stairs to access the 1st floor were brutal, dangerous and extremely difficult to climb. There was no air conditioning (as stated in description) and no screens on any of the windows so we had several uncomfortable nights of sleeping due to the fact that we couldn’t open the windows. We had to purchase a small room fan. We also purchased 2 coffee mugs (only small tea cup size available). The coffee maker was also small…similar to what you would find in a hotel room. The light fixture hanging on the wall in the bedroom kept falling off and the end of the bed was either broken or not properly fitted to the bed frame and my husband fell off of it when he tried to sit on the end of the bed to put his shoes on. The bed was small and didn’t accommodate two adults comfortably. Linens had a musty smell so I washed the pillow cases in hopes that would help. Floors had lots of pet hair and dust so I used the vacuum cleaner to try to get rid of the dust and hair. It filled the canister. No washcloths or dish cloth was provided so I suggest you bring your own. We bought some to use while we were there. Upon arrival, we had no instruction on how to use the entry door digital lock so, that was a problem. We called the host and he did answer right away and explained how to use it. I’m very sorry I had to leave such a poor review but I do think these are things future guests need to be aware of.
We stayed here during West Point parent's weekend. The unit was well-appointed and perfect for two people. Convenient parking and a quiet street near the downtown area. Close to coffee and dinner on the Hudson.
We were not prepared for how lovely this beautifully decorated apartment was. It had all the necessary amenities for our one night stay. Good location with lots of Newburgh history evident. Stan was a great host, super responsive and friendly.
We had a wonderful long weekend in Newburgh visiting our son who lives in the city. From history, to views, to interesting places to go, to good food it was very nice!!!
A lovely 1 bedroom space that was great for my wife and I to get out of the city for a few days. We had such a great time and loved all the amenities provided on site!
The apartment was lovely, decorated nicely and very clean. I loved having the back porch and the yard for the dog to run in. Newburgh is a cute little town, very diverse, which I like, and is close to many things in Central Valley.
For nearby restaurants, I recommend Betty's Snack bar and Ms Fairfax on Liberty St. Two Alice's on Broadway for coffee. Many places are closed on Monday so I could not try everything!
This was a wonderful place to stay. Gorgeous and cozy interior design and the back yard with outside furniture was perfect for our pup! It was also close enough to walk to the waterfront restaurants and park which was very convenient! Host provided everything to make it comfortable including coffee, skittles and chocolate!
This property was soo cute and absolutely spotless. I am always picky about cleanliness and I had zero issues with this property. Everything was just as clean as I’d keep my own home. The apartment was cozy, comfortable, and cute. We loved having direct access to the backyard so our pup could go out and play easily. Walking distance to lots of yummy restaurants on the riverfront. We had an amazing stay here!
This apartment has a modern and inviting aesthetic. We had a delightful stay and enjoyed the recommended nearby cafe and restaurants. Close to hiking and Beacon.
Highly recommend!
I love the decor and feel of this place. It felt so cozy and comfy. We appreciate all the recommendation the host offered during our stay. It’s hard finding places that allow big dogs so we are so grateful about not having a limitation on breed as well. This place is memorable for us since my boyfriend proposed on this trip!!! Definitely would come again!
I was dropping my daughter off at overnight camp in the area and decided to stay a few days while working "from home".
While the apartment as no dedicated workspace, since it was just me the dining table worked great. The neighborhood is quiet but still close enough to be walk-able to dinning options. Though, many places in the area seem to be closed monday-wednesday opening only around the weekend.
It was easy to find street parking usually right now front. The Grand avenue sidewalks are made of flagstone, which I found really unique.
I would stay again if I was in the area.
P.S. The candy jars include scoops that really promote portion control :)
Great space and well appointed. Bed very comfortable and bathroom has a nice spa vibe.
Quiet and relaxing. Well situated to see Storm King and Dia Beacon. 8 minute walk to the Hudson and good Waterfront restaurants and walk.

Not quite what we expected
I had high hopes on this property based on the profile and pictures. We stayed 5 nights. The main area of concern was that we were there during a mixture of weather. There is one heating system for the entire building, and it was located in the hallway of the second floor. Our unit was on the first floor. I prefer to sleep in a cooler environment due to age and hot flashes. Another resident (or guest) from another unit kept setting the heat at 75°, which meant that the entire building was that temp. We couldn’t open windows because the room faced a parking lot. Needless to say, we got very little sleep. We could hear the footsteps of everyone above us, and the barks of the dog in the unit above us. The living area was comfortable, but the door was right by the building entrance, so we heard everyone and everything whenever someone came or left. We were happy to get back home.
I love the pictures online, which is why I chose the place. But I was pleasantly surprised by the neighborhood, the grandeur of the building, and just how lovely the space felt. I wanted to move in forever!
Stan was exceedingly helpful when I reached out to him. Highly recommend!
We had a great long weekend stay. The house was clean and well decorated. Checkin and communication was easy. Walking distance to the river and restaurants in the area. It is also an easy drive to hiking and Beacon. Would highly recommend staying here when in the area.
The host was communicative when needed and check-in to check-out was easy and secure.
The home was clean and decorated nice, and close to the waterfront restaurants and shops in town. The mattress was comfortable and fenced backyard/deck was a nice plus. My dog had a blast lounging and playing outside, and the neighbors are friendly.
Enjoyed the house and Stan was very responsive. Newburg looks like an up and coming location on the beautiful Hudson River. Some
Great fun restaurants on the river.
I really enjoyed the overall interior design of this cozy apartment. The location was exactly what we needed. In addition, Stan allowed us to check-in slightly earlier to convince us and our schedule that day. The only thing about this stay that was not 5 stars was the neighbors. There was a dog outside the whole night who was barking very loudly almost every hour unfortunately. Other than that, I would highly recommend Stan's apartment.

Why they chose this property
The vibrant City of Newburgh radiates creativity, grit and character. You will find culinary excellence at restaurants like The Lakeview House and bakeries like Newburgh Flour Shop. Local creativity thrives at Atlas Studios - an historic industrial factory converted into work spaces for artists, makers, entrepreneurs, and creative professionals. A true architectural playground, the city features many 19th-century eclectic styles from Greek Revival to High Victorian. Many historic mansions may be found along Grand St and Montgomery St along the Hudson River. The natural beauty of Hudson Valley surrounds Newburgh, with plenty of parks and hiking options nearby. Ferry to the bustling town of Beacon is walking distance away, though some folks prefer the scenic walk via Newburgh-beacon Bridge. Please note Newburgh is an urban city and, just like any other urban environment, has some blocks that are less developed than others. You may find yourself strolling past beautiful mansions on one block and encounter a dilapidated home on the next. The city is undergoing a gradual transformation with many renovations and restorations, all of which take time.
What makes this property unique
Getting around Newburgh can be easily explored by foot but guests with cars will find street parking plentiful as well. Ferry to Beacon lands you at the Beacon Metro-North train stop, from where trains run to NYC / Grand Central in just under 2 hours.
