About this property

The Martin Van Buren historical hunting lodge / camp

Four season cottage
The historical Van Buren property (former hunting lodge and camp) is nestled on 26 acres on a private lake with 1500 feet of private lakefront.

The property is divided into 6 private cottages and the main chalet: 4 individual loft-style cottages of 400 sq ft (with queen beds) and rain forest shower; 1100 sq ft 2 bedroom / 2 bath cottage; historic log cabin and the primary 2 bedroom/ 2.5 bath lake chalet with large deck, suitable for a group or a wedding ceremony.

The 2 bedroom / 2 bath cottage has a washer and dryer, full kitchen (including oven) and a 200 sqf back patio, small private balcony off the 2nd bedroom and front patio to enjoy the natural surrounding.

The other cottages are loft style each outfitted with a kitchenette (fridge/freezer, gas stovetop, farm sink, microwave, toaster and coffee pot), queen bed, tiled rain shower, living room /dining room and a 200 sq ft private back patio.

There is also a historic log cabin.

The estate is secluded from the outside world: once inside, you don’t see any traffic and the outside “world” noise is at a bare minimum. You will however hear and see many birds, turkeys, ducks, geese and deer. You may be lucky and spot one of the beautiful white swans that grace the private lake. The lake has a variety of fish (great for fishing), turtles, frogs etc… we are committed to maintaining the eco system of the estate.

If you are a nature lover or simple looking for a unique place to relax, host a family reunion, meditation/yoga group or wedding - this is it!

We are here to answer any question or provide further information. Price for the event varies (if interested, please text with a request).

Special info: there is a pet fee of $30 per day per pet.

We are a super host and are always looking to provide our guests with the best experience possible.

Merci
Ann and Francois
