Great location, but like crashing at someone’s personal space rather than welcoming vacation rental
Positives: * Great lakefront location * Responsive property managerNegatives: * Poor cleanliness: Dirty & old looking towels, sticky and dirty floors all throughout (our socks were black), oily dishes and dirty cups/glasses in the cabinet that were supposed to be “clean,” dusty pillows and comforters (everyone was sneezing), random leftover foods including expired items, disorganized kitchen with missing utensils and scratched up non-stick cookware (carcinogens!), lots of bugs inside house * Maintenance issues: Broken blinds, loose cabinet doors that we had to tighten in case they fall off, malfunctioning microwave, unidentified peeling debris at bottom of hot water kettle, non-functioning TV, no good dishwasher to use so had to hand wash (which is a lot of dishes for a family gathering) * Uncomfortable amenities: Low-quality sheets (polyester? does not breathe and traps heat/ hot at night), unreliable WiFi, only a couple of toilet paper rolls and trash bags * Safety concerns: Unsecured deck lid falling off, so we had to dive into cold water to save itNumerous cleanliness and maintenance issues, coupled with the uncomfortable and unwelcoming atmosphere, significantly detracted from our stay at an otherwise great location. We felt like we had to constantly fix and/or clean things around the house during the stay instead of relaxing. The big stars go to the property manager’s quick responses but there are too many fundamental problems to keep contacting the manager.
