Step out of the stress of everyday life and into this little bit of paradise. This family owned cottage is attached to the larger private home. It is located at the end of a peninsula, with water views from most rooms. A self contained, 882 square foot, two level apartment with private entrances, is the perfect solution to expensive rentals not easily afforded during the present economic climate.

Casually elegant, this recently renovated 1927 summer home is a blend of old world charm and modern conveniences. Each bedroom is lined with windows, affording views of passing lobster boats, changing tides, and gorgeous sunsets. An open concept living area and kitchenette provide all the conveniences necessary for comfortable living.

You can spend time sitting on the deck, overlooking the rocky Maine shore, or hop in the car and drive to nearby Boothbay Harbor, Old Orchard Beach, the outlet town of Freeport, or Pemaquid Point. In close proximity there are many venues for kayaking, boating, whale watches, and excursions, so you can be as busy as you please, or just idle, enjoying the cool summer breezes and breath taking water views.

Breathtaking

The bungalow was surprisingly spacious and provided the perfect getaway. There is beauty everywhere that you look. Walking to the end of the island with my morning coffee was a highlight of the trip for me. If you're looking for peace and serenity this is your spot.

A Beautiful and Peaceful Stay

The property is lovely, with the interior decorations being warm and comforting. The location is fantastic. Everytime I looked out the window I was taken aback by the view. Overall, a fantastic stay.

Peaceful oasis

Absolutely gorgeous and peaceful place with little interaction with people, yet you're among a community. Stunning views and such great coziness. A true delight. A perfect getaway for a quiet, restful weekend. Has everything you need. Felt really safe here and welcomed. Everyone was friendly. Seriously one of a kind. Wonderful

Everything about this stay was perfect. We loved the living space. It had everything we needed as well as info on things to do and good places to dine. The hosts were friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Outside the views in every direction were beautiful. So much so that when our son came up to spend a night with us he booked it for a week with his family. We can't wait to return and would recommend it to anyone.

Perfect fall getaway

My Husband and I stayed for a long weekend and it was a perfect visit. The house is very clean, and had everything we needed. The views were truly breathtaking. We even forgot our car keys after we checked out and Barbara went out of her way to ship them back home to us. We will definitely be back next fall!

Perfect spot!!

The bungalow provided a peaceful and quiet getaway for the weekend. The property managers were friendly and helpful and their attention to detail did not go unnoticed. Everything we needed was available and the bungalow was very clean. Enjoyed the local seafood and nature preserve.

My girls and I had a great time, beautiful cottage, beautiful sunsets, everything we needed was there. Beth put together a great binder with all things Harpswell, the Giant Stairs was amazing. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

Relaxation by the sea

We loved every minute of our stay by the sea! The cottage is well equipped and the caretakers are incredible. The views are breathtaking. This is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy all that Harpswell has to offer.

Cozy kitchen that's very well equipped. Same for living/dining area. The bedrooms are large and have windows on three sides overlooking the ocean. A previous reviewer thought the queen bed was hard. I disagree - very comfy. Managers are friendly and responsive. This was the absolutely perfect place for me to have a solo writing retreat!

Wonderful quaint cottage

Beautiful area. Quaint cottage. Loved watching the tide come in and recede. About 50 minute drive to Portland. Quiet and beautiful nature all around this property.

This cottage by the sea is awesome!

This little cottage is awesome. It is well outfitted with all you need. The bed in the bedroom was very comfortable. The sofa bed in the living room not so much but no sofabeds are very comfy. My husband was sick so I let him have the bedroom for a coupe of days. The view is amazing! You are literally steps from the ocean. The property is a little more remote than I expected. We arrived after dark in the rain and it felt like we were at the end of the earth, but daylight revealed lots of neighbors. You go to the end of the hard road and go 3 miles or so further on a private gravel road that looks like a driveway. There is Uncle Pete's convenience store a few miles up the hard road but you might want to stop for groceries in the city. There was a coffee maker and a Keurig type. There was some decaf Folgers in the cabinet and filters but no pods so you might want to bring your own. The place was absolutely spotless with plenty of extra paper products. The caretakers Barb and Ed were not onsite 24/7 but they lived down the road and were there every day. They were AWESOME, extremely friendly and helpful both on the phone and in person. This is great place to rest, relax and recover in your own personal cottage by the sea. We highly recommend it.

Beautiful Ocean Retreat

Cozy bungalow in an absolutely stunning location. The views from the windows and back yard and gorgeous. The proximity to Pott's Point made for great walks and tide pooling. Mattresses are harder than what we are accustomed to but were manageable for our short stay.

Wonderful trip

The location was wonderful. The place itself was very dated and bed mattresses were very uncomfortable. I felt as though there was little privacy and most of the blinds were broken. It was a difficult check in, most of the people on the property where very confused and little help. We had to receive help from the other couple staying there to get in. They did supply most of the stuff we could need in the house. Location was fantastic and beautiful, nice relaxing area. We really enjoyed our stay, just not the nicest place.

As a child this beautiful Maine home was owned by my grandparents. Grandpa built a separate unit, which is now what we refer to as our bungalow, so that all of his grandchildren and their families could enjoy the vacation home and he and Grandma could still keep their sanity! Growing up in this house made it a part of me, the sights and smells of the ocean, and the memories attached to them. So, in 2008, when the second generation needed to sell it, my husband and I bought it in order to maintain the family traditions.
The grandchildren are all grown now, some with grandchildren of their own but the traditions will carry on. We hope you can make some memories too, and enjoy this beautiful spot just as we do.
