About this property

End Of The Line Caboose

Welcome to the End Of The Line Caboose! This fully remodeled 1917 Caboose is the perfect way to spend your Montana vacation, and you'll have the best of the Big Sky State right at your fingertips! This caboose sits on original railroad tracks near the Columbia Mountains, in the heart of the picturesque Flathead Valley. It is located at the end of our private road, surrounded by 3 acres of land. We are a quick 20 minutes to the west entrance of Glacier National Park, 25 minutes to Whitefish Mountain Resort, and about 25 minutes to the east shores of Flathead Lake.

Inside the caboose you’ll find a comfortable queen bed, a set of twin bunk beds, and a loveseat, if you need a sleeping place for a 5th person. We have a kitchenette, providing you with a couple of stove burners, a mini fridge, and a microwave. You’ll have k-cups for the keurig coffee maker and cream and sugar for your coffee/tea. You can enjoy the breathtaking view of the Columbia Mountains right on the back porch, and keep an eye out for deer and wild turkeys that are often wandering the yard!

You’ll have no shortage of places to see and things to do when you visit our beautiful corner of Montana. Feel free to ask for suggestions, or offer them after your stay. We love to hear about all the fun and adventure our guests have while staying with us!

Wow, what an awesome place! Staying at the caboose added a great element to our Glacier trip. We loved sitting on the deck watching the horses at sunset. We ate dinner on the deck every night after a long day of hiking. This place is super clean and so fun. Highly recommended.

So fun!

This caboose is adorable. Our whole family loved the novelty of it and it was close to restaurants, a large grocery store and the west entrance to GNP.

Perfect getaway!

Such an amazing property. Wonderful, kind and informative hosts. We enjoyed our stay immensely and we're so thankful we booked. Convenient to Glacier and Columbia Falls - we loved the restaurants that were recommended. It was the perfect spot for our family (3 kids, 2 adults). Thank you for sharing the Caboose!

This place was FANTASTIC! Close to Glacier National Park, great country setting, super clean, the most comfortable bed, great mountain views and awesome owners, plus they had 2 small dogs that gave me doggie fix, while missing mine at home. I would recommend this a 1000 times!

Caboose Stay

The Caboose is a really super sweet spot to stay if your planning on going to Glacier National Park. 15 miles from the west entrance, so very easy to get to. The host Dan and Amos (doggie) are very friendly. Amos loves to fetch and will show up with his ball at your door. We only had two minor issues. One, the directions need to be updated. And two, we like to cook our own meals, and unfortunately the Caboose doesn’t have the proper equipment, i.e., no grilling utensils, only one small frying pan, and no oven. However, I may have missed the no oven prior to booking. All in all, it’s a fantastic place, location was perfect. We just prefer to cook our meals. Thanks Dan and Holly

Great glacier vacation

It was just as fun to come home to our train as it was to see the sights at glacier. The kids loved it and the attention to detail made all the difference. They were great to communicate with and answered my questions in a timely matter.

Holly and Dan were excellent hosts. Enjoyed several conversations with them. Caboose was planned out so well. Enjoyed deck early evenings. Train light outside was a wonderful tough to the atmosphere. Wish we could have stayed longer. Cannot tell you how nice this stay was.

Great stay

Had a great time in the caboose. Loved the nostalgic feel. Owners were close and available, but not needed. Loved the patio. Air cooled it nicely. Was surprised no tv, but thankful too. Close to GNP west entrance. Thanks for the memories.

Amazing and unique property

Very well appointed, authentic, clean and comfortable train caboose, which has been refurbished and updatedm. Hostess was very helpful. Don’t try to find the place until you get directions from the hostess, you’ll get lost.

Wonderful and unique stay

It’s hard to find something new to say about this property that hasn’t already been said by other reviewers. It is a wonderful and unique place to stay that was loved by all of the members of our family (but especially our 9 and 7 year old sons). The owners have done a tremendous job transforming the caboose into something that is truly cozy and comfortable to stay in. The one thing that did surprise me (in a good way) was the charming area the caboose is located in. There is plenty of space between the caboose and the nearest properties, providing lots of privacy and quiet. Really can’t say enough positive things about this place.

Perfect little cabin with fun theme

We stayed here while visiting Glacier National Park. Nice and close to the park. Hosts were very friendly and responsive. The cabin is all custom work and beautifully done. My son loves trains- so he was very happy.
