Idyllic location and great communication

What a gorgeous property! We enjoyed soaking in the beauty of nature, used the beautiful fireplace every day and slept in the most comfortable beds. This was the perfect environment for our retreat and is so beautifully maintained. We loved our stay.

AMAZING!

Our family tradition for the last few years has been to take the family on an extended weekend so we can connect and relax. High Rock Ranch delivered!! Many places we stay with think of changes we would make to the property, etc. Not at HighRock Ranch! It has everything a group could ask for. Tim and the property manager were exceptional when we needed anything. We will be back for sure! Thank you Tim for sharing such a wonderful home and property:)

Amazing Vacation Spot

We came here with a few families (kids all between 6-11). We had an absolutely amazing stay here and the kids loved it. The kids would just roam around between the rope swing, little zip line, pool, lake, and giant lawn for hours each day. The pictures really don't do the property justice. The house and the views are incredible. One of our favorite parts were all the hiking trails. The trails were way longer and more interesting than we would have expected. We will definitely be making this an annual tradition.

Amazing Anderson Valley estate - High Rock Ranch delivers

We traveled as a pod to the High Rock Ranch estate for a Spring Break getaway. The estate is expansive with hiking, biking trails, rope swings not to mention swimming pool, hot tub and tennis court! Playing capture the flag on the adjacent green belt flanking the pool house was a favorite! The sleeping arrangements were plentiful for eight adults and ten children ranging in age from 3 - 11 years old. The fire pit and outdoor bbq were used on a nightly basis for smores and to cook dinner. The kitchen and enclosed dining area were great for our large group. We never left the property during our stay as there is an abundance of activities on property for kids and adults alike. Tim (home owner) and W. Dan (caretaker) were responsive and ensured we had all the creature comforts at our fingertips. Can't wait to visit High Rock Ranch again in the near future!! Truly a one of a kind setting in the Anderson Valley!

Spectacular property, wonderful retreat!

High Rock Ranch is a special location - the property is stunning and the set-up is perfect for a large family vacation. The main house is very spacious and comfortable. We had a wonderful time cooking as a group, lounging in the house, and exploring the grounds. I imagine it would be wonderful in the summer time. One thing to keep in mind - internet access is very limited at the house as is cell coverage. Of course this made for some quality family time at this wonderful spot!

Perfect weekend getaway

We recently spent an extended weekend at High Rock Ranch with a group of family and friends and it could not have been better. The house is well designed for large groups, and the kitchen setup was perfect. The grounds are beautiful and between the hiking trails, rope swing, pool house, and ping pong table there is plenty to keep everyone occupied. The area is quiet, and we enjoyed visiting the local wineries, and most of all just enjoyed hanging out at this beautiful property. We will definitely be back!!!

Perfect Getaway

This was our second trip out to High Rock Ranch and most certainly not our last, we could not have had a better time. We had 18 people and it accommodated everyone comfortably. The owner of the property, as well as the caretaker are extremely helpful and they work hard to make sure your stay is just as great as expected. It is absolute paradise. We already can't wait for our next trip out there!

AMAZING

My extended family and I (20 total) had the pleasure of recently vacationing at High Rock Ranch. This place is AMAZING. We could not have asked for more. High Rock exceeded our every expectation. All the kids were in heaven with their time at the upper and lower lakes, rope swings (including the big one into the lower lake), safe zip line, tennis court, HUGE swimming pool and hot tub, massive acre plus flat lawn, tennis court, horse shoes, on and on. Use old folks (30s to grand parents in their 80s) could not have been happier. This is an architectural jewel with the finest amenities. The ranch's caretaker, W. Dan greeted us upon arrival and showed all around. He could not have been kinder. The 300+ acres is breath taking with its natural beauty and South West exposure. The ranch has 6 miles or trails outside the pig/deer fencing. We took walks daily and saw more wildlife that in my last 5 years of nature walks. Between us all, we saw a bobcat, 10+ wild pig, a large number of turkey, lots and lots of deer, rabbits, many species of birds galore, and the sounds of coyote at sunset. The cute little town of Boonville is only 5 miles down the road; however, we did not leave the ranch. Why would we. This place is paradise.

Best Camp Ever

My family and I stay at High Rock Ranch from time to time and the joke we have going when we're there is "Best Camp Ever!" It is a wonderful place to get the family together to relax. Quiet. Beautiful. Elegant but relaxed. With lots to do for the adults and the kids. This is one of our favorite places around California.

It doesn't get any better than this

This spectacular ranch is perfect for large groups looking to get away without going too far from San Francisco. The property is spectacular with meticulous attention to detail in every amenity. In addition to the gorgeous main lodge, pool and guest houses there are activities suitable for all ages and energy levels. Numerous hiking and biking trails, huge swimming pool, lake with stand up paddleboards, vineyards, tennis court and more. After a long weekend in paradise it was very hard for my friends and family to pack up and leave. What a special place.

Incredible escape with friends and family

We feel like we hit the jackpot finding this gem of a property! An ideal place to visit with a large group of friends or a family reunion. High Rock Ranch has it all. swimming in the lake, rope swings, zip lines, lap pool, huge lawn for sports with kids, mtn biking and running trails. At the end of the day, its hard to decide where you want to enjoy your cocktail. The amenities are top notch and the owners were delightful to work with. We come every year and its our favorite family get away. The nice part about being at High Rock Ranch is you never want to leave the property because it has it all. Save the airfare and hassle of flying somewhere when you can have it all just an hour and a half north of the city. Amazing place.

The perfect place for a family reunion!!

I cannot think of a more perfect place/setting for our family reunion. This property had everything we had hoped for and more. To start, the buildings are architectural gems, created with the finest materials and decorated with excellent taste. The structures are placed strategically on the property to maximize the views of the natural beauty that envelopes you. Upon arrival, our family drove up the long vineyard-lined driveway and our excitement rose as when saw the lake, thepool, the huge lawn, a trail system and the tennis court —it offered so many activities for our entire family that encompasses a wide age range. We cooked our meals in the spacious and well-stocked kitchen and ate our meals in the beautiful family style screened-porch as the sun set behind us. The main house and cottage offered beautiful and clean bedrooms stocked with luxurious sheets and towels. Without a doubt, I would recommend this property as the perfect family reunion (or large family event) property.

Wine country paradise and retreat from it all

High Rock Ranch is So special. It has everything and more for fun, relaxation and exploration. There is not a detail left undone. Heaven on Earth

It is almost hard to put into worlds how incredible HHR is. The property is gorgeous, the house(s) are spacious, comfortable, well maintained and beautiful, the activities are endless, and the peace and tranquility are priceless. We had 17 people, ages 1.5 to 83 and we all had a blast. You do not need to bring anything (minus your food!) - the house is stocked full with supplies and toys. So many things to do we didn't even get to them all. The rope swing into the pond was our favorite, but we also spent tons of time in the pool and jacuzzi, on the tennis/basketball court, exploring the trails, playing on the huge grass lawn, zip lining, smores at the fire pit, and so much more. The owner was very helpful and responsive in planning the trip and the caretaker at the property, W. Dan, was always available and so kind, even gave us a tour of the local brewery. We will go back as soon as possible. This place is heaven!

Magical

Our family (children 8 and 11) spent a week at HHR with a group of close friends. Absolute paradise! If you can believe it, even the photos don't do it justice. It's one of those places where you pinch yourself to confirm its real. Our family has traveled extensively all over the world and HHR (only 2.5 hours from our home) is as special as any place we have every stayed. 300+ acres in Anderson Valley, arguably one of the most beautiful valleys in California. Its perfect for those who just want to relax by the pool or the lake or for those who can't sit still. We had both in our group and all were thoroughly satisfied. Hiking, tennis, basketball, ping pong, frisbee golf, horse shoes, rope swings, swimming, walking through the vineyards or on several miles of trails or playing games with the kids on the huge grass lawn. The house is breath taking. It is obvious the owners have paid attention to every detail including hiring W Dan the caretaker who was super helpful and has a wealth of local knowledge. Expect to spend 90% of your time on the property. The only reason to leave is to replenishing your food/drink supplies or maybe have dinner in town or a beer at the Boonville Brewery. This is not your typical week away. Get ready for something special.

Our Dream Vacation @ High Rock Ranch

High Rock Ranch exceeded our expectations in every regard. Our family enjoyed a one week reunion last fall. The Indian Summer weather was perfect. The listing photos do not capture High Rock true beauty. We enjoyed swimming, rope swinging and paddle boarding in the main lake. The single track running and mountain bike riding trails are world class. We had planned on venturing out to wine taste and explore Anderson Valley but never left the ranch. There is some much to do and enjoy between the tennis court, massive level lawn, 70’ swimming pool, hot tub, lakes, trails, Frisbee golf and horse shoes. We can’t wait for our next visit. Thank you for providing us a large slice of paradise.

Our private paradise

We rented the ranch for a large family gathering (18) and had bed space to spare. The house was spacious enough for everyone including the porch dining table with seating for 20. We ranged in age from 7-75 and everyone had a great time. There are so many activities to do right on the property that a week passed without us venturing out except for a food run. The house is well stocked with basic cooking supplies (spices, sugar, flour, etc.) while the pool house boasts a large supply of tennis racquets and balls. Questions to the caretaker were answered in a timely manner and a few minor inconveniences were addressed in a timely manner. If traveling from a far off location I would recommend planning to stay a few days before or after your rental period at another place if you want to site see because you probably won't want to leave the ranch once you get there!

A perfect way to start the year

A group of friends and I had the pleasure of staying at High Rock Ranch over the new year's eve weekend and had an exceptional experience. We had a good feeling about the place after seeing photos online, but the way it felt to drive onto this beautiful property and take those first steps into the main lodge exceeded our every expectation. The amenities are fantastic and very well-maintained, and the house is stocked with sports and entertainment equipment, games, extra bedding and towels, and even a bottle of wine. The caretaker, W. Dan (who happens to be an expert on the local Anderson Valley Brewery), is really nice and helpful too. All in all, a very fun, comfortable, relaxing place. We can't wait to come back for another amazing weekend. Thanks, Wood brothers!
