Lovely place and location

You can walk to everything. The beach, groceries, restaurants/bars, stores, the park across the street, etc. It’s incredibly convenient. The inside is spacious and was accommodating for the four of us. Beds are comfortable. Kitchen has all appliances you need to make meals. The patio is nice with plenty of space.Things to be aware of:- you are on the Main Street through Newport/Balboa. If you are sensitive to noise it might be too much but we never had an issue.- the garage is incredibly small. You can fit a car but don’t expect to open a door unless you have a sliding door. Luckily we had a van.- this is a duplex. You will sometimes here

Very clean, comfortable & great location!

Easy to follow instructions for access. Very clean & comfortable. Beds are top quality! Kitchen fully stocked. Gas BBQ is good. Location, toes in the sand in 3 minutes! Beautiful beach. Easy walk to grocery store & restaurants. Can be noisy during the day, located on a busy street close to a stop sign. But really, we weren’t inside much during the day with all the great things to do in the area. And it’s quiet at night.

Beach House Review

This is a great house, close to the beach and to shops, restaurants, and the grocery store. You don’t need to drive anywhere! Close enough to walk to rent bikes too The house is very clean and has everything needed for a great stay for a large or small family. It also has a great patio and grill. The walk to the beach is literally one block to paradise. We really loved this location and will come back!

Clean Property & Great Location!

We booked this last minute, so we were a little worried. The house had a perfect amount of space for us. The place only allowed 5 people upon booking, but we could have easily fit 3 more people if we needed to. Just wondering why only 5 people allowed when there is room for more...? Also, the room with the bathroom attached is very small with a full bed, so we had to put 1 person in there and people had to go through his bedroom to use the bathroom. The other rooms have a good amount of space- just would have been nice to have the king as a master suite but we made do! Other than that, it had everything we needed & was clean & well kept. Great location too.

Clean/Location/Good size

Upon arrival we had issue with our door code (10 digits is a lot for a code) I used the text system and was able to get assistance to get the key but not a new code. I did call the next day as we had multiple people in the house and needed a code. The representative was very helpful. The space is clean and cooler as it's on the bottom floor. There are several fans but gotta search for them a bit. Amenities were adequate and the dishwasher and laundry detergent are a nice touch. If you're a coffee drinker theirs is a bit small (we ordered one and left it, hope it stays). Beds were comfy and linens clean (thank you!) Like all of Newport/OC county parking is limited. I was pleasantly surprise that my 4runner (2019 for size reference)fit in the garage space provided. We are familiar with Newport so parking and noise as expected during 4th of July. So be aware during holiday there's a lot of street noise from traffic not so much crowd/party noise from Seashore area. Most importantly I lost the stone to my wedding ring while packing to leave. I was frantic as I didn't notice till we left (We were in HB with family) The customer service team was quick to get me in contact with the local team who reached out to the cleaning crew. They were all so helpful for that I am very grateful. I did recover my stone as it fell out in my truck. We had a great stay and will stay again!!

Cute place, issues not resolved

The place itself is very cute, and like most beach houses there are quirky things about it. One thing we noticed right away was that the screen door and a screen right by the front door were missing. I contacted Vacasa right away and they told me they would but in a request. By the end of the stay, it was never fixed. And after looking at the reviews from the guests before, it was also missing for them and not fixed. We thought the beach Ouse seemed clean. However, I noticed a dried up contact on the floor in the back bathroom (I don’t wear contacts), and the top bunk in one of the rooms had sand & hair inside the Sheets’s. I feel like the management of this location is not great. Makes me wonder what our service fees are going towards.

8am wake up calls from anyone upstairs.

The space is cozy and the location is great but I honestly wouldn't rent this place again. We loved the patio and the amenities, including the new linens and furnishings. Being steps away from everything was such a bonus. There were a few things that made me a little uneasy about our stay. The front door code is the same 10 digits but the last number is changed with each bookings. I accidentally found this out by putting in the wrong number but the door opened. The waist high dining room window was unlocked and the screen was gone, which I didn't even notice until the second night. The sliding screen door is ripped open on the side, which allows someone to enter without you hearing them. The rear entry door lock is broken and just spins, which can disengage the lock and allow anyone to enter. These security issues are easy to remedy and were not the breaking point for us. The paper thin ceiling above the bedrooms however was the deal breaker. We heard just about everything from the people staying in the upstairs unit. The upstairs outside entertainment space is directly above the main bedroom and you hear it all. Every morning we were woken up by people on the stairs, kids running around, screaming, everyone's roller luggage rolled across the floor, vacuuming, and EVERY SINGLE FOOTSTEP. We only had a few days where we didn't wake up like this and it was amazing. It was so bad, I almost rolled up the mattress and put it out in the living room. I don't believe in giving low stars for this because all of these things are fixable and can make this space ideal for building repeat clients. We will look out for this space in the future and see if any updates are made. We absolutely loved the space besides the noise.

False Advertisement

Upon checking in to the property we immediately communicated our dissatisfaction via the check in text communication. The garage is beyond narrow; you’re barely able to open the door enough to squeeze out once you’ve pulled in. The entire property is smaller than represented: “master en suite” bath is a closet converted with a shower and toilet. Our son had a difficult time sitting down on the toilet and closing the door it was so tight. When he closed the door his knees were against it and when he turned his head he could rest his head on the sink or the window sill. The entire bathroom was covered in soap scum build up and mildew. Right next to the “good to go clean” sign was a toothpaste spit smear on the door frame with hair stuck in it. The hall bath was in similar shape as to soap scum and mildew. Additionally, the tub did not drain properly so during a shower it would fill up past your ankles. Every mattress had massive stain spots, linens were stained and unclean and the couch was disgusting. Dust build up around the entire home showing a habit of NOT properly cleaning anything but rather running a mop down across the floor and wiping main surfaces down. There was even a sticker from an orange stuck to the coffee table! The house had pots and pans but otherwise was not “stocked” in the kitchen (i.e. salt, pepper, etc.) as stated. It took hours to settle with the local representative. We spent our entire first day out of the home while people cleaned and a carpet cleaner addressed the couch. Additionally we were promised a discount (which is why we agreed to stay and deal with the inconvenience and misrepresented property); to this date I have not received a final invoice or follow up on the promised discount. We have still been charged the full amount. By far the worst experience we’ve ever had. Stay away!!!

Great 3bd house in prime location

I highly recommend this place. It’s located just a block away from Newport Beach, in walking distance to restaurants and groceries and across the road from basketball courts and children's playground. The beds &are very comfortable (king in master room, double bunk beds with single trundle in 2nd bdr & double bed with separate entry & en-suite in 3bdr). Good kitchen though no mixing bowls or basic pantry supplies. Large lounge room with a wide selection of streaming services. Front patio with bbq but we didn’t use it. Great choice for families or groups.
