Lazy Lumberjack Hilltop Cabin

Overall, excellent home. It had all the necessities you would ask for. The drive up to the house is not as bad as others have stated in prior posts, but I do see an issue if you go when there is snow on the ground.(need a all wheel drive or better.) I had a Honda Accord I got got there fine with no snow. All six of us where pleased with the home. Heating was fine plenty of towels, very clean rooms, bathrooms and kitchen. Loved every bit of the house. Very comfortable seating in the living area and good TV to watch online content. Wifi was good but not strong. We felt right at home there and already planning our next stay with other friends.

The Lazy Lumberjack Hilltop Cabin is a beautiful, fully functional home, with all the you need to live there minus the food. Very clean and comfortable beds and furniture. The 2 bathrooms are a plus. Heating was great. A gas grill outside was a life saver. Very private and quiet. If you are going to hike at Acadia or just go to Bay Harbor area is a 40 minute drive, very reasonable if you are comparing rates of were to stay. My friends a I were very pleased with the Cabin.

RAVE Reviews for the Lazy Lumberjack Hilltop Cabin

Beautifully set at the top of a hill, nestled amongst the woods...such a pristine cabin home! Boasting serenity and coziness, with ample space for 5 adults (more if there are children), it is the perfect gathering place for a Family or Girl's weekend. The amenities were well appointed and we had everything we needed. Having a washer and dryer available was a nice bonus. The large rock fire pit was a favorite for s'mores at night. A very private location without neighbors and although remote, no far to drive to quaint little towns and Acadia National Park. Cadillac Mtn was a highlight overlooking Bar Harbor (and we were able to see whales in the bay!)

Awesome!

The cabin was beautiful, very secluded, very peaceful and quiet. If you don't like the country it isn't for you but we loved everything about it. Definitely recommend!

Great glamping stay

Quiet and isolated with generally great amenities. The sauna was very nice especially after a day of hiking. Appliances were also all fairly new and easy to use. Would book again

Beautiful

This vacation rental was wonderful. It was very clean. The rental had every detail available that may need. We were impressed with how quiet the property was. The home was very comfortable. Very nice touch having folding chairs, cooler and small supplies that were needed for our trip. We would recommend for anyone that does not want the hustle of Bar Harbor. Just beautiful! Would rent again+

Hilltop cabin

The cabin layout was awesome. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Quiet and very relaxing to return to after a day out running around. We enjoyed the ability to sit outside on the patio and relax and play games inside.

Wonderful secluded retreat

This cabin was amazing with all the amenities inside and out. The cabin itself is gorgeous and clean with lots of space to spread out and a well appointed kitchen. There is a wonderful stone patio and a fire pit and sauna. We didn't get to enjoy those due to the weather but did enjoy playing games and cooking dinner with a movie playing. There was a selection of DVD's, board games and books for entertainment. Such a peaceful place and an easy drive to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor and all the best lobster roll stands. We would definitely stay again if ever back in that area.

Lovely cabin in secluded area

There were a few minor cleaning issues (used contact lenses on bedside table and makeup stained washcloth) but rest of cabin very clean. Bathtub on main floor not recommended for anyone with agility issues or unstable on your feet. None of the four in our group felt safe to use it. When Hurricane Lee encouraged us to leave a day early we were disappointed there was not even a partial reduction in amount paid. When we spoke to other travelers down the coast in the following days we learned most who canceled reservations because of hurricane were given either partial or full refund.

Soothing

We had a wonderful experience staying here. The setting was perfect for us - secluded and heavily wooded. The only sounds we heard were of the winding stream and the wind rustling the leaves on the trees. The home was well-maintained and very clean. We were pleased to find the home as listed and as photographed.

Gorgeous house, very secluded

Property is beautiful, extremely quiet and surrounded by trees. When the listing states that the driveway is steep, you’d better believe it—without 4-wheel drive in poor weather conditions, a vehicle would have a tough-to-impossible time traversing it. Interior of home is stunning. Be aware that only one bedroom is totally enclosed. The upstairs bedroom is an open concept so not soundproofed at all from what’s happening on the floor below. Air conditioning was persnickety and didn't seem to be working although the control panel said it was on, but the weather was perfect and stayed in the 70s so we didn’t need it. The place was astonishingly, spotlessly clean, with abundant towels and a well-stocked pantry. Host even included bug spray and sunscreen along with copious maps and brochures. Within 30-to-45 minutes driving time, you can get to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, but Ellsworth also has its charms including fun antique shops and a few good restaurants (we highly recommend Union River Lobster Pot). Overall, a gorgeous house in a memorable setting.

Perfect new cabin near Acadia!

This cabin was awesome-so perfectly furnished and charming in every way. We were close enough to go hiking every day in Acadia, but had such an amazing and comfortable (and affordable) place to come back to afterward! Stargazing and fire pit were so great. Pantry was stocked with complimentary snacks, too. All in all a great stay and we’d definitely come back.
