Fort Morgan and Morgantown

Morgantown is a lovely, unique seaside community featuring two swimming pools, a kiddie pool, two lighted tennis/pickleball courts and several beach access boardwalks. When you first arrive, you'll notice pride of ownership in this pastel colored, beautifully landscape neighborhood. Guests really enjoy walking and biking along the quiet streets and many rent golf carts and enjoy sunset drives. If you have small children or just prefer the convenience of parking close to the beach, there is a public lot just to the west of Morgantown.

Located a scenic 15 miles from Gulf Shores, you'll find everything you need close at hand. Dollar General and Sassy Bass Market are just a few miles away and have all the basics you might need. There are several restaurants nearby offering a variety of tasty dishes. Tacky Jack's, Sassy Bass (2 locations), Coast and brand-new Jesse's (opening soon) to name a few. Some venues even offer live, local entertainment.

Fort Morgan fishing pier is now open, and anglers will have access to convenient inshore fishing and the abundant species locally available.

Be sure and visit nearby Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge with over 7,000 acres of coastal habit. You'll be able to hike through the preserve and observe local flora and fauna. There are 4 trails, varying in size and terrain, and you'll definitely want to make time to visit this natural oasis.

On the beach with easy access from AL180. Last minute booking because of cancellation of Florida trip due to hurricane Helene.

Girls trip 2024

Location Location Location. This property is located on the beach sunrise and sunset are the best. The house is in need of a deep clean and update. The dust under the sofas and the stains on the doors needs to be addressed. The property needs to be updated. The bathrooms are dated and the toilet on the main floor was running when we got there the owners were quick to come fix it but afterwards it was hard to flush. I really enjoyed the property but not the premier property normally offered by VRBO.

I loved that we were right on the beach. It was easy to get our chairs and umbrellas down and back up each day. The beach area around us was more crowded than I like, but that was due to the size of the neighborhood.

The lower deck provides a great spot to enjoy a cup of coffee and listen to the surf. We saw dolphins 🐬 every day and enjoyed the great variety of birds. Fishing just steps out the back door. This is a great house in a wonderful location. Very good communication from the care takers, no issues with anything.

Will return. ***still highly recommend fixing the back stairs, the second step down is short and it would be VERY bad if someone got hurt on this- likely isn't up to code either. We mark it with chalk so everyone remembers to be careful.** It was also dirty this year, lots of sand in the house when we "moved in" and hair that wasn't ours. NO other complaints- we cleaned and then had a BLAST!

Plenty of room my family of 11. We visited Fort Morgan and the Zoo. We ate at Sassy Bass Amazing Grill, the food was tasty. We mostly hung out at the beach house or on the beach. The property manager introduced herself the first day never had that happen before. We had 2 hiccups that were fixed within hours. We will definitely stay here again.

The only disappointing part of our stay was many of the windows would not open. The weather was perfect to enjoy the ocean breeze and sounds, but we were unable to open many of the windows in the living room and bedrooms. I absolutely love feeling the wind and hearing the waves and was very disappointed not being able to open the windows. Other than that our stay was great.

Great location.

The house is great and you cannot beat the location. Steps from the beach and the fishing was good. The only thing I would recommend is good lighting needs to be added to the front steps. When it's dark it is very hard to see the steps. A member of our group fell and broke their arm. More light would have helped.

We got to spend more time on the beach since we weren’t having to wait for elevators and walking through multiple gates like past vacations. The view from the balcony is stunning & we loved sitting on the nice outdoor Polywood chairs. The management company was fantastic and let us in an hour early because we arrived into town. So nice of them so we could get unpacked and start enjoying before dinner. If there could be just 1 improvement it would be a fresh coat of paint on walls & baseboards. The rest of the home has been upgraded with beautiful furniture & kitchen, fresh paint would just set it all off to perfection. Thank y’all for a wonderful stay at this beautiful home! We absolutely loved staying here! Definitely the most relaxing vacation I have ever had because of that stunning view and ease of walking right out to the beach.
