HOUSE ON THE RIVER

Home on the River. There is no dock access to the River. A boat launch is 1/2 South. This home has all the amenities you need. 2 queen beds. One has an adjustable base with the ability to raise/lower your head/feet. One has a select comfort air bed to adjust the firmness of the bed. A large family room with wood burning fireplace, we provide the wood, that opens up to a 3 season porch. Large couch and coffee table with games. A high top table dining room that seats 6 and a coffee bar/ work space for 3 more people. Fisherman and hunters welcome also.
Come and enjoy all that Wabasha has to offer. Ice fishing, downhill skiing, thrift shops & boutiques, eagle watching, Slippery’s Bar & Grill, Home of Grumpy Old Men. Coffee shop, State land nearby for hiking. Drive your ATV on county roads legally.

Weekend Getaway

The cabin is beautiful and in a great location. The property manages made everything so easy and are very kind. Would definitely stay there again! We also made a day trip to Alma and got engaged

Quiet River View

A very comfortable, clean, well equipped house with a great Mississippi River view. Bed and pillows very comfy. Owner very nice. A big front yard for playing catch with our dog.

We had a wonderful weekend at the River House in October Beautiful views and living area was so spacious! We also loved the close proximity to restaurants and shops nearby! We will definitely be back!

Everything You Need…

Our goal was to have a few quiet days away to recharge. We found that in this house where the owner has supplied just about anything you could need. Bird feeders brought a constant array of birds. The house was clean and comfortable. We couldn’t have asked for a more thoughtful host.

Fall weekend getaway

We stayed at the property over MEA and explored Wabasha, Winona, and surrounding communities. It was a beautiful area and we found plenty of things to do. The house was clean and comfortable with a nice view of the river. Host was very easy to communicate with.

Cozy home on the river

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was nice to be in a country neighborhood, but only five minutes from Wabasha. Our dogs settled in quickly and loved their new digs.The home was very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed.

Fall getaway

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at House on the River. The cabin/house was clean, spacious and very comfortable. I especially liked the sunroom porch. The view of the Mississippi River was limited due to the leaves on the trees but we enjoyed watching all the birds at the feeders and the squirrels chasing around. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

Nice little stay

The house had everything we needed for a beautiful, weekend stay. Everything was absolutely perfect. There were many comfortable extras that the owners thought of for their guests. The towels were my favorite. They were extra luxurious. We felt like the first ones using them. The decor was very adorable, perfect for a house by the river. There were plenty of options for seating. Fabulous hosts!!!!

River Vacation

House was just what we were looking for, it was in the center of all the places we wanted to visit from Lake City to Winona. It was just right for the four of us. If we were to visit the area again. I would want to stay there. We also used the gas grill & fire pit while were there.

Amazing property

This ultra clean property was the perfect location and stay for me and my best girlfriend to have on our first getaway since we have been friends! We were extremely impressed by the cleanliness, the view from the front windows, plush bath and bedding, With added bonus… adjustable beds! I am so thankful we found this gem of a property! Used the gas grill, no problems Plenty of seating, lawn chairs, AC worked great! The only thing I could submit for improvement would be that the windows didn’t lock. -Which didn’t bother me, but my friend was a little nervous about it Excellent place!

Mississippi River Road Trip

The property had everything we needed for a four night stay. It was on the river about 10 minutes from Wabasha. Communicating with the host was easy and prompt. The home was comfortable and clean and host provided extras which were nice. There needs to be a disclaimer however. The photos show a clear view of the river. We visited in July and the river was barely visible. Otherwise, all was well. Enjoyed our stay.

Great place in the country

This property has really great beds. They were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment. There were many spices available as well. I had a few questions on what was available for use in the house before we arrived and Gina was very quick with responding. This property is on the river, but the bank is high and the stairs to the river are not open for use, but it still has a great atmosphere in and outside the house. This is a property in the county so there were a lot of birds that came to the bird feeder in the back yard. The next section is mostly a personal preference, but I am listing it anyway. The pillows on the beds are adequate, but if you are particular as am I, I would suggest bringing your own. I had forgotten mine and still slept fine, but my own would have been better. There is laundry on site, but we didn’t use, but if you know you will need it, be aware it is in the unfinished basement. I traveled with my daughter, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter. One last note, this is an older , but well kept home. It has many updates such as newer appliances. The bathroom does have a shower, but be aware that it is a cast iron tub that has shower curtains all around to protect the window in the bathroom. The space is well lit and has a vent, but be aware if you are claustrophobic.

Nice home and location

Home was nice surrounded by so many lush trees and partial rivers views. The wildlife was gorgeous and the neighborhood is quiet with easy access to everything in the area. Nice layout for a small group long weekend getaway!

Nice & quiet

This was a fun get away for a 37th wedding anniversary. The place was exactly like what the pictures show. We love the area and this was a great place for peace and quiet. The bird watching and nature sounds were a bonus. We didnt see the northern lights but stayed up late anyways.

Private, quiet and cozy !!!

This home was clean, very well set up and comfortable. Location was just a few miles to Wabasha downtown. Most all was what we expected. Only draw back was the outside stairs to the dock were roped off due to there poor condition and the dock on river didn't look very safe even if we had been able to get to it. I would recommend that it not be on the listing about access to "dock on river"! Till steps & dock are replaced or repaired to be safe !!!
