Pancho Paradise is a gem. It was huge, well appointed, and exactly like the photos make it out to be! What you don’t see is Pancho- the red Macau who’s just so cute and a little ham to boot! Loved him! Also, you’re in the jungle! Like. It’s amazing! You hear the coqui, you hear the chickens, you hear the goats! It’s wild. Literally wild! It would be perfect for large groups- just do it!
Pancho’s Paradise was everything we expected from the beautiful views to the spacious home itself. We loved and looked forward to seeing Pancho the Parrot every morning and loved it. Great place for family.
Overall we had a great stay! There was plenty of room for all of us and having a pool was great! Laundry was easy to use. As other reviews have said, the road is windy and narrow but not that bad in our opinion. Most activities are going to be 30-60 mins drive depending on time of day which was no problem for us. Our only hiccups were some plumbing issues (which they sent someone out very quickly to work on) and wishing there were a few items in the kitchen cuz we did a lot of cooking (toaster, cookie sheets, and more dishes because we had a large group). These likely won’t matter to most people though. At least one room had a dehumidifier but more would have been nice though definitely not a deal breaker. The property was pretty clean and had plenty of towels on hand. Some past water damage visible and the odd bug every now and again but pretty good for being in the middle of the rainforest. Some of the furniture is nearing end of life probably but there was also new mattresses and a new couch so that was great. Kitchen appliances looked new as well. Overall a positive experience and would recommend to others needing a large space for bigger groups. The property manager was great to work with and easy to communicate with/very helpful! We very much appreciated that!
Great for a group of 4 friends and family for a week! We cherished our time that we could pop back from adventuring to take a dip in the pool, grab a nap, or just hangout and look at the rainforest. We spent a whole afternoon and evening just hanging out in the pool and enjoying cocktails and beer by the pool under the outdoor kitchen with one of the best views in Puerto Rico. By night you’re surrounded by the coqui frogs and insects singing. The kitchen and living room doesn’t have AC but the fan is superb and keeps you cool. The AC units in the bedrooms were perfect and kept us comfortable!
Cozy and good Communication with host. Only thing the ceiling fans were dusty so we couldn’t use them and my allergies were a bit bad with the AC on. Other than that everything was 👍 great!
We had previously stayed on a beach in San Juan for a friend's wedding. This visit was our 10 year anniversary and we were coming with our kids and I wanted it to be memorable. This place was perfect. It's in the hills, close to El Yunque. The pool and the views at night were amazing. We especially just loved the sounds of the chirping at night. It was just a 30 minute drive to the beach or the rainforest. The house did not have central air (I didn't expect that it did), but both bedrooms have controllable air conditioners that make sleeping very comfortable. We were able to use their beach chairs and cooler on our trips out. We had the best time on this trip, and this house was a great part of it. I will mention along with others that the narrow, wind-y roads were terrifying for me, but my husband found them fun once he got used to driving on them :) Again, in the evenings while driving, roll down your windows, the sound of the jungle is amazing.
Loved this property! The view was amazing and the pool area was stunning. House was super clean and had everything you could possibly need. It’s a little bit of a wild drive to get up to it, so be prepared for that. There is a colmada about 5 minutes away for drinks, ice cream and snacks, but otherwise, make sure you bring your food. We loved it here, hosts were super friendly, and hanging out with Pancho was really cool. We would highly recommend staying at Pancho’s Paradise.
We loved, loved this house, location, and vacation in Puerto Rico!! The rainforest sounds were amazing (we used white noise on our phones at night), the outdoor laundry-with-a-view was a surprisingly pleasant way of doing such a mundane task, and the pool and Pancho (the VRBO “mascot”/pet added to the overall great experience. Owners were very responsive and helpful and friendly. Also had a very healthy respect for privacy/boundaries during our stay. Would highly recommend (we stayed here with 5 kids ages 9-17 and had plenty of space and beds.
We stayed here for the first leg of our Puerto Rico adventure. Far from the crowds, yet manageable to drive to activities. Owners were quick to respond with any questions. It's a small place, but perfect for what we needed!
This was an amazing experience! The communication was fantastic. The directions that were sent to us were very accurate. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The grounds were clean and gorgeous, the sounds of the birds, and coqui were serene. The kids LOVED the pool, and we loved eating outside overlooking everything. We will definitely come back again!!
We had such a great time at Pancho’s Paradise. We loved the place, the view, the amenities, meeting Pancho, absolutely everything was great.
We will definitely be back on our next trio to PR.
Unique place in the hills above San Juan. Feels like you're waking up in the jungle. Great place for some relaxing down time, but also only a short drive from many attractions if you're looking for something to do. The host was always responsive, but never intrusive.

Very well situated in a safe environment. Travel from the airport to the house was quite easy on well cared for roads. Up on the mountain over looking the city and sea. Only one bathroom for a party of 5, but we found this not to be an issue. Large bathroom in private location. Veda were very comfortable. Air conditioning not required even thou we could have used it if needed. Windows are screened. We would stay again.
This is the type of place you feel guilty leaving if you have something planned. It’s somewhat difficult to reach from any main Highway which tends to keep you put but adds to the appeal. Definitely plan on relaxing, enjoying the pool and the sounds of the rainforest, the view of the mountains, the ocean and San Juan all from one spot.
After spending our first two nights in Old San Juan and 10 days on a boat in the BVIs, Panchos Paradise was the perfect spot to close off our vacation. The sounds of the rainforest were absolutely incredible! Do yourself a favour and get up early to catch that sunrise.
We treated our hosts to a homemade dinner on their property and loved getting to know them! Wonderful people.
Would definitely recommend renting a car and it’s cheaper. Taxis and Uber are hard to lock down in this area but we’ll worth it for the views!
The property has the most amazing views. It overlooks the rain forest and on clear days you can see the shoreline. We loved using the pool and the house was so cute. Perfect for a family of 4. We slept with the windows open and felt like a part of the stunning nature surrounding us.
Andrew is extremely responsive and such a gracious host. We had the added bonus of goats and chickens next door which we all loved. We absolutely recommend as its close to SanJuan and the East.
Beautiful property in the hills overlooking Puerto Rico. Hosts were phenomenal and easy to contact. Despite being on site, you never saw or heard them unless you needed them. I'd go back again.
The location of Pancho's Place is breathtaking, over looking the jungle valley from the pool area. The hosts were very quick in response and very friendly in their responses. Would recommend to anyone who likes a view and would absolutely book again on next trip to Puerto Rico! Plenty of food within 10 minute drive, as well as a close small supermarket and within 20 mins of large econo store and walmart.
couldn’t have asked for a better experience all the way around with this property! booking was super easy & the location, although it’s up a crazy curvy hill is suchhhh a fun ride! i recommend you meet pancho and play some Bad Bunny for him because he loves to dance and show off! the pool was amazing, and seeing the landscape while being able to enjoy my 26th birthday was unlike anything else. i cannot wait to come back soon, because this is absolutely one of the best vacation homes i’ve ever had !!
