You simply can not beat the charm and location of the home. Our daughter was absolutely thrilled to be staying in one of the
Great Location but Not Well Maintained and Be Prepared for Extra Charges
My family was excited to rent this property because it is extremely close to downtown/the beach and we always wanted to stay in a gingerbread style cottage. I knew the house was vintage, but was disappointed that so many things needed repair-the front door latch barely works and we got stuck in the upstairs bathroom several times when the latch jammed. Also, there is no AC so the house gets very hot and didn't have enough fans. I actually bought 3 and left them with the house along with several beach chairs and games (most rental homes at this price point come with these sorts of things). I love the Oaks Bluff area and rent every summer, so despite these issues I enjoyed my stay and would not have written a negative review. However, while I was routinely turning off the light on the upstairs fan towards the end of the week, the glass dome fell on me and when I moved it my hand got cut. Again, I wasn't going to make a big deal about it and just informed the owner that it should be repaired so that future renters don't get injured. I was shocked when the owner informed me that she needed to replace the entire fan and would be passing the charges on to me for a new unit and the cost to install it! This owner is not maintaining the home properly and passing on basic maintenance costs as "damage" by renters. Rent with caution.
What a storybook gingerbread house!?! Built in 1870 with all of the amenities of the 21st century. Close to, seriously, everything! Walk out the front door…one block to the right=beach…one block to the left=center of town. My favorite daily event was coffee on the front porch. Always someone walking by with a friendly hello and a curious question or comment about the house. Rosemary was a responsive hostess. Easy check-in/check-out. I highly recommend this little MV gem!
Beautiful home, great location, very cooperative, responsive owner. We have a lovely stay!

Perfect location for all
Ten members of our family ranging in age from 6 to 76 loved your welcoming home. Older boys liked the private back stairs, outdoor shower, short walk to town and b-ball courts. Everyone loved the beach ,beautiful interior, porch and the victorian details.

Charming home with all the immenities
This home was perfect for what we needed and it slept 10 people perfectly and comfortably. The outdoor shower was such a cool feature...something we don't see in California, so we couldn't wait to use it each morning. The owner takes pride in this historic cottage. It is clean and well maintained with all the immenities. Most importantly, it is conveniently situated with in walking distance to EVERYTHING: the Beach, OB ferry, shopping, restaurants....everything is just a few steps away. Don't mis a trip to "Back Door Donuts" ...a MUST in OB .

Great Oak Bluffs cottage
We had a wonderful stay in this comfortable and conveniently located cottage withing walking distance to all the attractions of Oak Bluffs: 2 blocks to the town green, walking distance to the ferry port and bus stop, 1 block to Circuit Ave., 2 blocks to the supermarket, 2 blocks to Cottage City, 2.5 blocks to the beach...fabulous. The owner was helpful and attentive. There was one master bedroom downstairs and 4 bedrooms upstairs. The outdoor shower was wonderful. The only downsides were that the upstairs half bath was built into a piked roof, so a bit uncomfortable for tall people and very hot. There was no air conditioning, so the upstairs bedrooms did become especially warm, although this may be the standard for cottages on the Vineyard (this was our first visit). Also, linens are not provided, which took me be surprise as a first-time visitor to the Vineyard, but apparently this is common as well; the owner helped me arrange linen rental. With 9 of us, we could have used another bathroom, but it wasn't a huge problem. Aside from that, I would highly recommend this cottage. Great location and value. Perfect for meeting up with relatives, as we did. Note that the steep staircases may be hazardous for toddlers. Enjoy!
