About this property
3Min Walk to Beach w/Marsh View: Bright Spacious Family Home
Nestled between the beautiful beaches of Oak Island and the scenic Davis Canal, Family Tides is minutes from the beach and a quick bike ride away from restaurants, shopping and groceries galore. This bright and cheerful cottage, only 3 rows back from the ocean, features marsh views and a 2.5-story floor plan with a bonus kids/game room on the lower level. With 4 BR, this is an ideal beach house for 2 families – comfortable for 3 – to share and enjoy together for a relaxing seaside holiday.
The house has been recently updated throughout with new flooring, washer/dryer, couches, bed sets and comforters. The inviting features continue outside, where you’ll find an expansive front deck and screened back porch with plenty of room and a view that includes glimpses of the water and canal.
Each bedroom also has a private deck with additional furniture. Dine al Fresco with a drink in-hand on the screened porch or in the large backyard while lazily lounging in the hammock or tree swing. A short walk of fewer than 4 minutes takes you from the driveway to the sand where you’ll lay your blanket.
As an added bonus, the scenic walkway over the Davis Canal at 29th St is even closer than the beach and provides a wonderful opportunity to view the island’s wildlife, including foxes, herons, and other shorebirds, deer, and more. This walkway also provides easy access to the Oak Island Recreation Center. Fishing is available from one of two fishing piers on the island as well as from the Davis Canal, 40th Street inlet.
Love being out on the water? With over 100 ft of driveway to park your boat trailer and drive to one of the many boat launches all over the island, you can quickly be out on the ICW (inter coastal waterway) which gives you water access to the Atlantic Ocean, Lockwood Folly River, Southport or Baldhead Island. For a unique beach experience take a drive out to The Point.
Need more? There are two public golf courses onOak Island and well over 15 golf courses with scenic views and natural settings within a 20 minute to 1-hour drive.
Just bring your beach towels! Beach chairs, umbrellas, toys for the kiddos, a large (wheeled) cooler, bikes and a wagon are provided at no additional cost. An enclosed outside shower with hot and cold water, as well as a changing area, make cleaning up after returning from the beach a breeze.
Groups welcome. Absolutely No Parties.
