Nice place.
A very nice clean house. Very close to other homes so it was quite noisy early morning.

Holiday fun
This was a neat area, fun activities, beautiful scenery. House was well equipped, had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay, would stay there again. Easy drive to services and anywhere we wanted to go. Only recommendation would be a more comfortable couch for evening relaxation but beds etc were great! Loved having two full bathrooms and equipped kitchen.

Had a Blast!
Thank you for everything! This was the best vacation we have ever had. The house was perfect for the two of us and close to everything we wanted to do. We enjoyed meeting you and getting to know you on the 4th of July! When we come back we will definitely be staying there again! Mahalo!

Great place to get away from it all
We really enjoyed our stay at the house. It was very well appointed and clean. Loved having our morning breakfast and coffee on the front porch as the surrounding area was beautiful with all the tropical foliage. Our hosts were gracious and very helpful with updates on what was happening on the island. There wasn’t anything we needed that wasn’t available at the house. We would definitely stay here again if back in the area.

The Real Hawaii
Felt like an authentic Hawaiian vacation, much better than a hotel! Modern house, great balcony upstairs for stargazing. Very nice neighborhood. Great property. There’s a park right down the street where they have “Sunday Funday” with drum circles, fire throwers, and food vendors. Easy drive to Rainbow Falls, Boiling Pots and Volcano National Park. We would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful home in a magical location
We really enjoyed our stay here. The property owners were friendly and kind. The home has everything you need and the bed is huge. The lanai is nice to eat outside and sit at night and watch the moon rise over the ocean. There is a friendly little cat to greet you outside in the morning. The area is absolutely gorgeous and there are some magical places in nature to explore. Highly recommended!

Stunning getaway off the beaten path
We had the most fantastic time on our Kehena Beach anniversary trip--even with an 8 month old! The guest house has such a great view, bed and kitchen, that even when we had to bunk in for naptimes, we still enjoyed every second. Mark and Richard are so welcoming, and it's nowhere near the big tourist traps, so we got to really relax and enjoy the sights. Some favorite outings were: Kaimu Beach (a short walk out from the Kalapana Cafe)--Kehena beach was a bit of a pain for us to get to with the baby, the SPACE and Maku'u farmers markets, and Hawaii Volcanoes National park, not an hour away. Would recommend this spot to anyone looking to truly enjoy the beauty of the island!

Great Home and owners
My friend and I were looking for a place to stay that was near Kalapana and this location was perfect! The owner's Richard and Mark were very responsive anytime I had a question prior to our stay and once we arrived. They have thought of everything! The home is VERY well equipped from the kitchen to the bathroom everything we needed was there. Very calm and quiet location. I would absolutely stay here again! I have noticed that some reviews stated poor cell reception, I use Verizon and had no problems.

vacation rental in seaview
The listing was very accurate in every detail. The photos look like they were taken just hours before we arrived. The place was extremely clean & well maintained. Their attention to detail was great, fresh flowers, newspapers, etc. We had lots of questions & they were so helpful. We loved the neighborhood, so quiet & peaceful. When we were there we spent most of the time on the lanai because of the wonderful view of the ocean. Be sure to go to the local farmers market in the neighborhood on Saturday. (try the homemade breads, food & exotic fruits) The cafe near the lava viewing area a few miles away has great food & is reasonably priced. We liked the neighborhood so much that we are now in the process of buying a lot & plan to build & retire here. Gary & Vicky Mooresville, North Carolina

Excellent vacation cottage
The cottage: I had an extended stay here in Dec 2015 – Jan 2016. The VRBO website description and pictures are accurate. This is a small, tidy, comfortably furnished one-bedroom cottage, most appropriate for 1-2 people. Very quiet location, on a dead end street so there is little traffic noise or noise from other properties. The lanai provides a distant view of the ocean and is equipped with table and chairs. It also has shades, to screen you from direct sun. Nice place for sitting and/or having your meals. Bedroom has a comfortable king bed, small chest of drawers, and large closet. Kitchen is well-equipped and has adequate counter space, full size fridge, gas range, pantry/closet, coffee/espresso maker, utensils, etc. Counter top bar is good spot to have meals, although the wooden stools are very hard. Living area has couch/futon, coffee table, and two chairs. It’s a nice comfortable area as well. Ceiling fans in living room and bedroom keep the cottage cool and pleasant. There is a nice collection of books to read. There is a washing machine at the main house and a large sheltered area to line-dry clothes. The hosts recycle, so I could collect my cans, bottles, etc and drop them in the recycling bins. The only problems I encountered were: 1, internet is very slow and often dropped. 2. Hot water is solar and comes from the main house. It takes a long time to get to the shower and often is only lukewarm early in the day or in cloudy weather. The area: I’m a single woman and felt very comfortable and safe staying in this cottage and in Seaview. It is a very “walkable” community. Seaview Lawn oceanside park is 0.4 mile from the cottage. Seaview Lawn is a great place at any time, but especially evenings. Kalani Oceanside Retreat is ½ mile from Seaview Lawn. Kehena Beach is less than a mile from Seaview Lawn. Uncle Roberts Awa bar is 4 miles away, a good place to go for Weds evening and Saturday morning market and music. Be aware of cars, bikes, pedestrians on the narrow roads. The hosts – Mark and Richard – live next door. They are outstanding – friendly and helpful if you have questions or need anything, but not intrusive. They strive to make your stay comfortable and pleasant. Thank you Mark and Richard for making me feel very much at home here! Overall, I highly recommend this cottage.

Great place. Host's are responsive and go over the top to make your stay pleasant.
Everything thing you need to make your vacation memorable. No cell service but a wireless network for communication with home. This area of the Big Island often gets bypassed but it's truly worth exploring. The king size bed is really comfortable, it makes me wonder about our bed choice at home. Laundry is a little challenging. Washer is located in the big house under stairs on the side lanai. No dryer but there is a close line to hang dry your clothes. Our favorite finds were Kapoho tide pools ,Ahalanui warm springs and Uncle Roberts on Wednesday nights.

A fantastic home, great hosts in a convenient stunning location!
We had an amazing 8 day vacation on the Puna Coast! Richard and Mark are amazing hosts friendly, approachable, full of local information, but respectful of your privacy. There is no better place to stay for exploring the Puna Coast. Close to Pahoa for restaurants, farmers markets, Uncle Roberts for libations and local color, especially on Wednesdays. The not to be missed lava walk to see the surface flows and the truly incredible boat tour with Kalapana Cultural Tours to see the amazing lava fire hose pouring into the ocean. We met many wonderful local people and visitors to the island spending many an hour sharing stories. Kehena beach is close by as well as the thermal pools. We look forward to returning and staying with Mark and Richard again. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your graciousness and warm welcome. See you soon! Tracy & Paul Hodgson

Lovely Cottage
in a beautiful area. It truly is away from it all -- bring breakfast with you if you come in the evening, or it's a trip to Pahoa. It's very near the lava flow viewing area, and the perfect place to drink coffee, look at the water and the tiny neighborhood around you, and pretend you're retired to the Big Island. :) Be aware that the cottage number is obscured by hibiscus if you are driving along the street. A kind neighbor helped us find it in the dark and rain. The bed is made of magic.

A wonderful place to stay while exploring the island.
The pictures represent the property well. It was perfect for two people, but could accommodate two more on the futon. The kitchen is set up with everything you need and now has a good supply of ketchup and mustard going in the fridge. You may want to call first before hitting the grocery store to make sure you don't purchase items unnecessarily. The owners were very helpful. If you are there on a Wednesday night, you'll want to make sure to go to Uncle Robert's for the night farmers market. Such a good time with a band playing Hawaiian music all night. Lots of good food to pick from, so go hungry. We would definitely stay here again! The house was very clean and comfortable temperature wise. We loved that it was like being in your own sound machine with the morning birds singing and the frogs chirping at night. A very relaxed and laid back area. You won't regret spending a week or longer here.

Perfect Little Cottage
My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks and loved it. The house was supplied with everything we needed for our stay. The king size master bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was completely stocked with dishes, pots and pans and just about anything else you can think of. The front porch is a great place to sit and relax. There's a washing machine next door that you can use. The owners, who were right next door if we needed anything, gave us plenty of privacy and made us feel welcome at the same time. The house is in a nice quiet area and it's a very pretty drive along the ocean into town. The only negative is that you do not get cellphone service but there is a landline in the house to use if needed. There is wifi, which made it easy for us to chat with our family online. There's also a super sweet cat that comes to visit often. We enjoyed our stay here very much and would definitely recommend it.

We had an excellent stay at the cottage. Great view, everything you could imagine you may need is already there for your use. The place is very clean. It's nice to hear the rain showers at night and hear the numerous frogs singing. Our hosts made us feel very much at home, but also respected our privacy when we wanted it. There is even a washing machine available for your use( at no charge too). We just hope there is a vacancy for our next trip to the island.

Home in paradise!
I just spent 8 wonderful days at the Kehana Cottage! Sadly, my stay wasn't as much for pleasure because I came to Hawai'i Island to look for a home, (in the greater Pahoa area). Naturally, it made sense to try and find a place to stay in the "general" area that I'm looking to buy a home. Not sure how I found it, (celestial forces), but when I came across the Cottage at Seaview-Kehana I knew I had found the right place for me. My time house hunting was kinda stressful, but having the Cottage to come home to was my oasis within paradise. The place was super clean... close to a gorgeous coastline... has a crazy comfortable memory foam mattress -and- the best water you will ever taste in your life! I come from Oregon, where the water is pretty good... but this was noticeably different. Btw, watch for a clear sky, at night, turn off all the lights and go out stargazing. Absolutely incredible! I can't tell you how very sad I felt to have to load up my bags and pull out of the drive way. Hopefully it won't be too long before I'll be staying there again... soon. Mahalo nui loa! :-)

Good location!
The price is right and the location at first seems a bit out of the way but it worked out great for us. There is a lot of things to do close to this area. The geothermal salt springs are close, good whale watching, beach is close by and Kilauea Volcano Park is close also. It could be cleaner and communication with the owner could be better. I am still not sure if the guy next door is the owner or the manager as they never did id themselves. We had a problem getting in one night because the deadbolt had broke. The guy told me they would fix it after we left and to use the back door and then walked away. As we were getting in the car to leave on the last day he came running over to say sorry that he didn't get it fixed but we were never home, whatever that meant.

Exploring the island
I spent almost a week at this vacation rental while attending events at a retreat. The cottage was very cute with all the amenities I needed. Really enjoyed having coffee and meals at the table on the lanai everyday. The owners provided me with a landline to use for my business needs, a washer, and most importantly it was very clean and well maintained. As a female traveling alone it was a very safe neighborhood and the owners were very kind and helpful!
