Palmetto Bug Friendly Home

Love the location of this home but did not realize we would be sharing the space with palmetto bugs aka roaches. We killed at least 7 including one that came up from the sofa. So I spent my stay seated at the dining table or outside. When I complained, they did send someone to spray. However, it was very hard to relax.

Great trip

We came in and we’re thrilled with how clean the house was as we’ve had several duds in the past. Everything was in good repair and there were plenty of dishes and utensils. They provide a beach cart and a couple boogie boards which was nice. We did have to be careful in the yard walking the dog as there is a lot of fire ants but we only had one bite. The beach access was excellent being right across the street and we had good views of the ocean from the house. The rental company was great at answering our many questions before going as there was a hurricane and we weren’t sure if the house would be accessible due to flooding. Our whole family agreed we would be happy to stay there again!

Tropical Storm Delight

About 2 days before our stay Tropical Storm Debby was going to be passing through the Carolina's. Understandably, people within my group were concerned about the trip. The communication with Kim was unbelievable she was reassuring, knowledgeable, and giving us live updates on how the storm was progressing. She made us feel so comfortable and we decided to still continue on our trip. We are so happy we did. The house is set up perfectly for large groups (we had 8 but could easily fit 14), the double fridge, the large eating areas with the table and countertop seating, the sectional with extra chairs made for a perfect mix of relaxing and activities. The views were lovely especially for a second row house, and the walk to the beach was extremely easy and we had no issues passing through the houses, utilizing the private walk. The house was clean, there was everything you need to cook full meals for your entire stay, and the bedrooms were nice and spacious. We will absolutely be staying again. Thanks for saving our vacation!

Nice House but advertised wrong

The house is great. On the far side of the island where it's a little more quiet and private. Plenty of space for the kids to entertain themselves, plenty of parking, great modern kitchen/dining area and master bath. Plenty of beds for everyone to share. 0 issues with the house. Our issues were with the advertisement of the convenience perks the house comes with. Beach access to us key. With so many families and so many kids we carry a TON of stuff onto the beach. Advertising a private beach access directly across from the driveway was one of the driving factors that set this house apart from others. Except what they don't advertise is that the access leads you down a path watched over a Karen house owner and leads directly to a 10 ft wall of sand bags with ZERO access onto the beach. (See pictures attached). We realize this is nobody's fault and the dunes and erosion are trying to be maintained and repaired, we get that, but don't advertise for a super convenient beach access when there isn't one. The beach access is also watched over by the Karen homeowner whos house is runs parallel to. She confronted a couple members of our party about using the access to which we had to show her the rental page advertising the beach access as well as the paper on the fridge the owners leave, advising the use of the access. They said they know the owners personally and will be calling them. Can't imagine we were the only renters ever trying to use this access.

Relaxing and easy access

We were so close to the beach and the inlet. We walked on the beach daily, sometimes several times a day. We kayaked in the inlet twice. We enjoyed seeing crabs, fish, birds and the beauty of it all. We collected shells. The beach was quiet mostly since we came in late in august. We liked Kokomo grill and fishy fishy. The kitchen had a coffee pot and keurig. A crockpot and plenty of cookware, dishes and glasses. Having 2 refrigerators was a nice plus. The beds were comfortable and 3 full baths was great. I appreciate having hangers available as well. The dining table sat us all easily. I would definitely recommend this place for a family vacation.

Great location!

The property was in a great location, loved the decor and the comfort of the beds. There were a few cleanliness issues upon arrival and some maintenance problems while we were there but nothing to ruin our trip.
