This is our personal home which we have completely remodeled. This beach bungalow located on Moran Lake in Santa Cruz, near Capitola, is breathtaking and feels like your personal spa retreat. Situated in a very quiet neighborhood, it feels so removed from city life, yet close to all amenities. The beach is a 5 minute walk away, with Pleasure Point, the best surfing spot in Santa Cruz, 5 minutes in the other direction with panoramic views of Monterey Bay. Or stay in and relax in your own Hot Springs spa on the back deck. The home is open with lots of natural light from large windows overlooking the lake and feels larger than the square footage. The kitchen has all you need with a 1956 antique O'Keefe and Merritt gas stove. (It works great!) There are two large decks in the back that overlook the lake with peeks of Moran beach through the eucalyptus trees. The home is a mix of Asian and Hawaiian decor furnished with Japanese antiques. So we ask that you treat it with special care. It is best suited for a small family or 2 couples. For monthly or other rates, email us directly by clicking on Contact Owner. We have a firm NO ANIMAL policy; no exceptions.
Beginning Jan. 1, 2023, Santa Cruz County has increased their tax for vacation rentals to 14%. This will be reflected in an adjusted quote.
There is so much to do in Santa Cruz, it's almost difficult to know where to start. Santa Cruz and the Monterey area have many recreational and cultural diversions to keep you busy and entertained. The Santa Cruz Mountains provide wonderful hiking, mountain biking, and exploring in the beautiful state parks including Big Basin with its ancient redwoods, Nisene Marks, and Henry Cowell. Local attractions include the Beach Boardwalk, yacht harbor, municipal and Capitola wharfs, Monterey Aquarium, Elkhorn Slough, the Mystery Spot and the downtown Pacific Garden mall. UC Santa Cruz, Cabrillo Community College, and the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium offer many cultural events such as the annual Shakespeare Festival during the summer, musicals and plays, and symphony. The Boardwalk offers free outdoor concerts on Fridays during the summer. There also are wonderful local wineries in the Santa Cruz Mountains and Monterey with several wine festivals during the year. Water sports abound with world class surfing, sailing, fishing, kayaking, windsurfing, kitesurfing, swimming, diving (some of the most challenging but beautiful diving in the world) and paddle surfing. Santa Cruz is a very bike friendly town with bike lanes all through town and along the coastline. And there are many golf courses nearby and in Monterey.
There are also phenomenal restaurants and eateries all within a few minutes walk or drive. Is there a particular kind of cuisine you enjoy? I'm sure you can find it somewhere in Santa Cruz. We have several farmer's markets which provide some of the most delicious, freshest produce (mostly organic) and bakery items. Nearest movie theaters are only a mile away.
Come to play, explore, or relax. Our home and the environs will definitely allow for all.
